Will Apple improve their calendar to include relative date scheduling of events?

Will Apple improve their calendar to include relative date scheduling of events?  Such as fourth Saturday, third Tuesday, etc.  I previously had a Blackberry Pearl and could do this.   Using the every month option schedules the event on the same date each month.

Neither supported the Newton. i still have my newton 120, BTW, gathering dust. Both had dedicated communities, and still do. Pimlico Software (www.pimlicosoftware.com) created a next generation calendar that is truly outstanding, even better that DateBk6, called Pimlical (Planner of the Apes). It is available for Windows and Android, and can be tweaked for Mac and Linux, but sadly, not for iPhone because it is written entirely in Java. I have the Windows version on a VMware Fusion virtual machine. And I'm a moderator for its Yahoo support forum.
DateBk was originally released as Week Calendar for the HP-100 handheld computer, the first practical PDA.
If we're going to continue this discussion perhaps we should take it to the Water Cooler

I have downloaded IOS7 on my iPhone and all calendar events have disappeared. The general functions of the calendar have changed and are definitely not 'user friendly'. How can I retrieve my calendar events. Will Apple improve the calendar function or revert to the previous system. Even the typing function on IOS 7 is faulty - very slow to respond to the keyboard. I no longer enjoy using my iPhone. Can anyone assist. Thank you

Very strange! All of my calendar events have reappeared. This has happened one week after downloading iOS 7
The calendar however,  is not easy to use.
The typing function on the phone has  become even slower. Have to wait for each letter to show on screen.

  • So when will Apple release their own iOS file browser built into the OS? No third parties apps....

iOS devices should have a native file brower app built into the OS... (It's hard to believe that Apple iOS devices can't read files from a Apple Time Capsule, right out of the box.) A iOS Finder should be preinstalled on all iOS devices. This is one feature that all other OS such as Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile have preinstalled on their own devices. So when will Apple release their own iOS file browser built into the OS? Please do not over look this request...

"This is one feature that all other OS such as Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile have pre-installed. . ."
Which is why those devices don't outsell; not as popular; or as desirable as Apple's iDevices.

  • Will Apple improve the earbud structure? The current ones kill my ears. For the price consumers pay for these products, we should receive top notch earbuds that fit the ear.

Some phones that you can buy do not come with headphones at all.

  • Any calendar apps that support "date modified" for events?

I would find it very useful if Calendar or a 3rd party calendar program included in the details section of an event, the date added and date modified information. I often make changes to my calendar and then later wonder when I added that change. Or I need to make a change on a repeating event and don't remember if I did it or not. By looking at a date modified, I could tell if I made the change.

  • Will Apple update their MacBook Pro lineup at WWDC 2013?

I am planning to buy a new Macbook Pro and I wondering whether Apple will update their lineup at the WWDC 2013? Will the new Macbooks have the new Haswell Processers?
Also, I need to decide between the Macbook Pro 13 inch and 15 inch. Which one is better for running heavy apps like Photoshop/Lightroom/Aperture?

No one knows when or if Apple is going to upgrade the MacBook Pro line this year.
If you need a computer now, for heavy graphics use, you'd be best served with either the 15" Retina or non-Retina. My choice would be the non-Retina, since you can upgrade the RAM and hard drive, replacing it with either a larger capacity, faster drive and up to 16GB of RAM. The 15" models also have discrete graphics processors, available with up to 1GB of memory: thus they are better machines for heavy graphics use.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • When will Apple address their Right Click syndrome?

Do a search for "Right Click" on the Apple forum and you will find 2741 entrys on this subject. People are actually wondering how to right click? On the web you can find entire articles on the subject, like "4 ways to right click on the Mac" http://www.wikihow.com/Right-Click-on-a-Mac.
The "right click" function differs between softwares, it may be CTRL, CMD, ALT or two fingers on the trackpad.
How did we get here? Why are there even different ways to right click??
I mean its fine that there are ways to get context menus, but there is no coherency here. I know that Mac is all about design, but this is really bad design. (Yes, I admit it looks clean.)
It reminds me about one time I wanted to use a shower at a hotel. There was a faucet and a shower head and no matter what I did, I could only get water in the faucet, not the shower. This was a single knob solution, turn it to get water, turn more to get warmer water. I later found out that you could also pull it to get the shower working, but I think you got my point. That was just bad design.
It took decades to get rid of the Chooser, which incidentally was also bad design. How many decades will we wait for another mouse button on a mac laptop?

"Right click" - a PC invention, has always been control-click.  You can adjust trackpad preferences to use two fingers to get the same thiing.   It doesn't seem very complicated to me.

  • When will apple hold their next press conference about the white iphone?

Okay so i was just wondering when the next press conference will be considering that will probably elaborate on a month of the release date as opposed to a 5 month window....And Do you think the phone will be released on the 1st of October because thats when the free bumper policy ends? Thanks.

I can't see why Apple would have a press conference for the white iPhone when it is going to be the same phone (apart from the colour) has the black iPhone 4.
I think it highly unlikely that Apple would have any modifications (i.e. modified antenna) on the white iPhone, that would warrant a press conference. If they did this would cause a huge uproar I expect with all the black iPhone 4 owners who would then have the old type of antenna. Apple cannot afford to have anymore bad press and I think they will realise that

  • When will apple upgrade their email app so you can add a attachment ?

  • Will Apple ever fix the 12/31/200 date RSS Visualizer Screen Saver issue?

I had to reopen the discussion about the RSS Visualizer:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6474304
I realize Apple may think the rest of the world (ex. CNN, Digg, etc..) needs to change their RSS feeds, but why not fix the RSS screensaver so that it doesn't default to December 31, 2000 and show only 4 news stories for most feeds? Even most of Apples RSS feeds don't comply. And this is by design?

Better is to send bug reports and enhancement requests to Apple via its Bug Reporter system. To do the latter, join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure over submitting feedback is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

  • In the future time lets say a month will apple let us go back to ios 6?

A question to apple HQ. Do you want your apple customers to be happy and not disapointed with the new updates. Or maybe they just want their old version that they liked back on there iphone. If you like to keep loyal and satisfide customers would you make them happy?
Out of all the people i know, only about one third of them actually like the newest update (ios7)
I am not making a biased report based on my opinions. i am simply trying to provoke apple to let us download and restore our iphones to the version we previously had, and if you like ios7 so be it keep it.
If apple would let their customers choose between the new updates and the old, A lot of people would be satisfide and they would want to stick with apple. and when a new update come out you can choose to upgrade or downgrade. Isnt it our freedom to choose the update we want?  yes I chose to update, and maybe i dont like it, but will apple let their customers, like me, choose what they want to be happy?  Will apple let us go back to what we want?

    1)  This is a User to User Forum.
You can leave Feedback for Apple here  >  http://www.apple.com/feedback/
    2)  Apple does Not support downgrading... never has.

I recently scratched my iPad mini, it's kin of annoying me, will apple fix my device without wiping the data from it?

no, they don't fix scratches, and they certainly wont give you a refund since you are the one who scratched it, not them.

  • My Outlook/iCloud calendar invites to others appear to work on my end and sync with my PC and mobile, but when other people "accept" the invite, it will not populate/add in to their calendar. How can i fix this without turning off iCloud?

My Outlook/iCloud calendar invites to others appear to work on my end and sync with my PC and mobile, but when other people "accept" the invite, it will not populate/add in to their calendar. How can I fix this without turning off iCloud?
I am at a new office that uses Outlook (not Outlook Exchange) which does not sync with my mobile... I just got iCloud set up on my PC to sync my contacts, calendar, reminders, etc... The sync worked (not without flaws, but the other issues seem solvable... I think), so that i can now see all my appointments on both my phone and on my PC. The problem I am having is that iCloud moved all of my calendar items from Outlook into iCloud calendar and now when I send out meeting/calendar invites the recipients may accept them, but the meeting does not get added to their calendar. This is a huge problem and may mean that i need to turn off iCloud.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks!

I am replying to my own post here as I seem to have fixed the problem.
I do have some calendars that are shared. Some of those are shared with users who have time zone support turned on. So i activated time zone support on my iphone, then deleted my icloud subscription. I then signed in to icloud again and voila... problem solved.
It is a weird one as the other calendar views were always fine and when you opened an event that appeared in the wrong day (on list view), the correct date of the event was shown in the information...
one more bug in a complicated system I guess
