Will Apple Mail (iOS) support RFC 2342 ( Shared Folders)?

Wie use some iOS in our corporate environment, but are constantly stressed out by the fact that Apple Mail does not "see" Shared Folders on our IMAP-server ( listed as #shared/... In the server's .mailboxlist). Wie use these folders for archiving.

No hair but i got it now...
Was so easy that i overlooked it.
i just had to put an alias into the postfix conf
aliases: "test: dummy+test"
Voila!
At the beginning i thought there is a easy solution, cause on the old server it was doable in the web frontend. I overlooked that there were more steps involved in the background.
If anybody knows a smarter solution pls tell me

  • Will Apple continue to support iWeb?

Will Apple continue to support iWeb?

It's now confirmed that iWeb and iDVD have been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. HOWEVER, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
    ◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken.  If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows.  Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.
However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone.  How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
In addition the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on.
HOWEVER, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still currently available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those copies still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD.

is apple team developing 5.0.2 ? when will they release ios 5.0.2 ?

This is a user-to-user technical support forum. There is no one from Apple here, thus no one here would be able to answer your question or have any knowledge of Apple's plans.

  • Will Apple be adding support for the pointer_lock feature in the Safari browser?

Various 3d games online are using WebGL (supported in Safari) but some are using the new "pointer_lock" feature:

Will Safari be adding support for pointer_lock in the near future? Here is an example of a WebGL interaction:

We don't know, and speculation is forbidden on the forums. When Apple announces it, then we'll all know.

  • Will Apple one day support AE plug ins on Intel Macs?

    Hi,
I was interested in upgrading my G5 to the new Mac Pro until I discovered from Apple's release notes that Apple had dropped support for the After Effects plug ins in FCP 5.1 for Intel!
I need my plug ins, so I'll stay on PPC for a while it seems. Has Apple stated anywhere that this is the way things will be FOR ALL future Intel versions, or is this just a temporary situation?
    Thanks!

    Sry, just found my answer:
"Adobe has not yet announced plans for a Universal Binary version of the After Effects plug-in API."

  • Will apple add ios 7.0 for iPod 4

Will apple add ios7 for iPod touch 4g

    No
As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

  • Will Apple TV gain support for Hulu?

My family has a BluRay Player, a Wii and an Apple TV.  We can get Netflix on all of them, and Hulu Plus on the BluRay.  I want to know if Apple TV will gain Hulu Plus Support.  I also would like to know if the iPod Touch 4G will gain AirPlay Mirroring support.

This is a user forum, no one here can answer your question regarding Hulu.
As for the iPod mirroring, no. It's processor intensive and is limited to iPhone 4S and iPad 2 since they are more powerful and can handle it.

  • When will Apple address iOS bugs

At first I was having problems connecting go wifi but a network reset would suffice. Now my iPhone 4S cannot even scan for networks let alone connect.  In addition, I have to be charging three times with the Battery drain.  I have tried numerous so called fixes and have gotten nowhere. Will apple ever address these bugs in their New (very disappointing) new iOS or should I upgrade to an android?

Neither I, nor anyone else I know has had problems with iOS 6 on our iDevices.  There are no bugs as far as I'm concerned.
As far as switching to an Android, you need to do what you feel is best for you.  We're users here, not Apple.  We've no vested interest in your staying with Apple.

  • HT2500 When will Apple Mail be revamped? or at least get upgraded?

    Hi everyone,
I am using Apple Mail for my work email and I have had this software for years now but I don't think it has changed much.
It isn't really user friendly, not easy to customer/personalise and I was wondering if I missed an update or if there is a Apple software that replaces it?
    Thanks for your email.
    Leila

Apple don't announce their future plans and no-one on here would know anything about this. There are other Mail clients you could use and might find preferable.
Incidentally though your signature says you have Mavericks, you've posted in the forum dedicated to the much older system Snow Leopard. It doesn't affect the answer in this case, but in general if you ask questions in a forum for the wrong system you are going to get some confusing answers.

  • Will apple continue to support OS X Lion?

I am new to apple and i have question regarding OS X Lion.
I have OS X Lion 10.7.4 on my Macbook pro late 2011 model, i want to ask that will apple continue update to OS X Lion to 10.7.5 or above? despite the fact that apple has just released a new OS X mountain lion..

no one here knows what apple plans to do.  They haven't released a newer version of 10.6 (10.6.8) since 10.7 was released last summer.  So if you want to take a guess based on that.  Then the answer is no.  But again, no one here can say what apple has planned as we just dont know.

  • Mountain Lion will no longer connect to my Homeserver shared folders

Yesterday I did a complete system wipe of my Mabook Pro and intalled a fresh copy of Mountain Lion, all has gone well apart from the fact that I can't connect to my Homeserver shared folders or stream from it using Plex, it can remote desktop into it though. All other devices can still connect to the server and the laptop can connect to all other just fine, any idea what might be causing this problem? Many thanks in advance.

I found if you connect to the shares themselves it's a slight work around but not ideal, so instead of doing this:
    smb://servername
    you do this
    smb://severname/sharename
Then if you add them to your favourites by clicking the plus icon in the server connect dialogue box (⌘+k) its liveable with, hopefully this gets sorted in the next OS update.

  • HT4757 When will Apple iPhoto/Aperture support the new Leica V-Lux 4 camera RAW format ?

I just bought a Leica Vlux-4 and found that the current verisons of Aperture and iPhoto do not reconize the RAW files like they do for earlier versions and all of the Canon & Nikon DSLR's.  I see from the support doc that Apple supports the Vlux-1 and 2, so when will RAW support be added for the Vlux-4 ?
I dont want to move to Lightroom but it already supports the Vlux-4 camera !
    Thanks.

while this all may be true,
it is all speculation, and we are not supposed to speculate here; Apple does not publish the reasons for missing raw support, and for the Vlux-4 it is early days yet. There may very well be a raw update including your camera soon. The only difference I see, is that the the Vlux-1 & 2 did not come with Lightroom included, only with PSE, and the support stopped, when Lightroom was included - the direct competition to Aperture.
Send feedback to Apple to let them know!
    Regards
    Léonie
