As with any other warranty for any other product, damage is not covered.
You would have ot pay for the repair.

    Yes unless:
If Apple determines that an iPod is not repairable, for example, if it has failed due catastrophic damage or the iPod has been disassembled into multiple pieces, then Out-of-Warranty Service is not available and the iPod will be returned. • Will Apple replace my faulty iPod Touch for free?

I bought my iPod 4 months ago but now its having screen issues for no reason :/
its shaky whenever i try to scroll or pinch to zoom in and i tried restoring and resetting but it doesn't help. The problem goes away and comes back ! Also when I touch one part of the screen, it hits something on the other side. How do I send my iPod to apple for replacement? I don't have a store near me, also if they say everything is okay then would they charge me a fee for wasting their time? Thank you!

No.  Warranty is most certainly not insurance.

  • Will apple replace a cracked screen on an ipad2 under warrenty?

Hi there, just wondering if anyone knows if apple will replace my cracked ipad2 screen. I have the extended warrenty.

If they checked your iPad serial number, they would know if you have AppleCare+.  If you purchased it either with your iPad, or within 30 days of your purchase (which would have required you to take your iPad to your Apple Store to be personally evaluated), you would have paid $99 for the coverage.  And Apple would have mailed you in a separate envelope the terms of the AppleCare+ coverage.  I certainly know that all my Apple devices are covered undered AppeCare+.  Did you purchase this coverage with your iPad?  At the time you could have purchased AppleCare or you could have purchased AppleCare+.  If you purchased AppleCare, but not AppleCare+, you would not be eligible for the $49 replacement.

I have purchased a new computer and authorized my iTunes with my Apple ID; however, my iPod Classic, which I have had for many years, will not sync hundreds of songs that I have purchased and says the device needs to be authorized.
I have searched high and low and there does not seem to be a way to authorize the iPod Classic.  What can I do to sync my purchases to my iPod?  I have tried reformatting/restoring it as suggested.  It continues to only allow me to sync non-icloud/itunes content.
    Help!

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?

Apple has not said anything about that so no one on here would now.  All we can do is wait and see.

I have an iPod Touch which I've had for almost 4 years, with 32 GB of memory. I am unable to update it, and consequently cannot install any newer apps. I am very disappointed that I spent a lot of $$; now Apple wants me to spend $$ again to get a new one. As I mentioned, I am pretty upset. Does anyone know if there's a work around?

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
    Identifying iPod models
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

  • Will Apple replaced a cracked screen iPod?

My iPod's screen is cracked. It has been for a while.
Recently, my iPod has been not working for no reason known to me. It is not showing up in windows or itunes. Will Apple replace it? (I bought it 3 months ago, I think its still under warranty) Or will they just say that I'm only doing it because of the screen?

My gut feel is that Apple will allege that the same abuse that caused the crack has caused these conditons. However, if you're in the U.S., call 800-275-2273 and ask. I have heard that they do occasionally bend the rules.

  • Will apple replace my cracked screen iphone 4

my phone screen is cracked, will apple replace it for free?

Your warranty is cancelled by damaging your iPhone unless you pay Apple for a replacement, and then you get only 90 days, I believe. So going third-party probably doesn't hurt you that much.
As to getting something for free or a reduced price just because you bought a lot of products, that's totally unrealistic. No one does that, not when the problem wasn't the company's fault. I've purchased mutilple Hyundai cars, but I wouldn't expect them to discount a windshield replacement if I drove the car into a building. If this iPod failed on it's own multiple times, then I'd agree that you were owed something. But expecting free or discounted stuff because of your own mistake is totally different and unjustified.
'nuff said on the subject. Again, feel free to purchase from any other company you feel would treat you better.
