Will apple replace my macbook pro?

Hi
I have a problem with the trackpad on my macbook pro 13''. not all the time but sometimes it feels loose and when you click down it it it clicks twice instead of once. i took it to the apple store and they altered the trackpads clicking space beneath so it clicks down further but this has not helped so i was wondering if apple will replace my macbook pro. however there are a couple of small scratches on the shell of the macbook pro which obviously have no effect on the working order of the trackpad but will apple refuse to replace my macbook with this cosmetic damage? also i would also like to know if anyone else has had the same problem with a loose trackpad that doesn't click correctly. thank you

robc10,
if your MacBook Pro is no longer in its warranty period, then they will not replace it. If it is still in its warranty period, refer to its warranty in your region to see whether replacement would be an available option for you.

Can Apple replace my macbook pro (mid 2012) retina's battery if I think that the battery health has gone bad/in need of and renewal???
I've had my Macbook for about 11 months now and i use it every day; its gone though about 420 cycles of charging and using the power, and i noticed the battrey preformance has decreased (as expected). The problem isn't sevear yet but it would comfort me knowing that i could replace the battery in the near future
Please contact me or answer the question if you know anything about this!

No only if they think under warranty/AppleCare, but your likely able to pay for a new battery if they have them, which they might not yet since it's such a new machine still.
BTW, I have a Early 2011 17" MBP, 27 months old, charges to 97% and has only 14 cycles.

  • Lost iPhoto when Apple replaced damaged MacBook Pro hard drive

My son and daughter-in-law recently had to replace their MacBook Pro hard drive. Apple did the replacement, but they got it back without iPhoto. Isn't that standard software when you purchase a MacBook Pro? Shouldn't it be part of the replacement, too?

If your computer shipped with Lion, follow the directions here to redownload the iLife apps:
Restoring iLife applications after Internet Restore of OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion
If you erase install OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion on a new Mac that shipped with OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion installed, you can download iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand from the Mac App Store.
After installation, start (up) from OS X.
Double-click the App Store icon in the dock.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
    Click Purchases.
If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your Lion based computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to complete installation of your applications.

  • Will apple repair my Macbook Pro with my parts?

I got a mint condition bottom case for $50 on Ebay. The part number on the bottom matches mine perfectly, but i do not want to void my apple care to swap out bottom cases. Will apple replace my bottom case without voiding my warranty for a labor cost? if yes, what would you estimate this labor cost to be?
Part number A1226- Santa Rosa 2.4 Ghz Bottom Case for Macbook Pro

I've never know Apple to perform an in-warranty service with a customer's part, ever. Now, that's not to say that a 3rd party, authorized service center would not. But they're technical not "Apple" just authorized to perform repairs.
You could certainly contact your local Apple Store and propose the situation to them but don't be surprised if the end result is not in your favor. The bottom case is a fairly significant repair, it involves a full disassembly of the machine so it'd fetch a fairly high labor cost from the 3rd party I'd imagine as well.

  • Does Apple replace faulty MacBook Pro with retina in Asia?

I bought a MacBook Pro with retina display in July 2012. Recently my MBPr developed some issues. I feel like something moves (or slides to and fro) inside the Mac when I take out the computer from the bag and hold it in my hand. I don't know whether I have been able to explain the issue as I'm not a native English speaker. I contacted the retailer I bought the Mac from. They told me they can only change the faulty parts if there are any, but they cannot replace the Mac for a new one because  Apple does not replace any Mac in Asia. The prerogative is only in Asia, Europe, Australia and the US. Is it really the case? If things turn out that Apple cannot make good on its warranty without replacing the Mac what shall they do in that case? Could you pls explain?

As best I know, after 14 days Apple will repair your MBP if it is within the warranty period for free.  In rare instances, if they have not been able to repair it after several attempts, they may replace it.  I suggest contacting Apple and ship your MBP to the for inspection/repair or bring it to an Apple store or an Apple reseller.
    Ciao.

  • Will Apple update their MacBook Pro lineup at WWDC 2013?

I am planning to buy a new Macbook Pro and I wondering whether Apple will update their lineup at the WWDC 2013? Will the new Macbooks have the new Haswell Processers?
Also, I need to decide between the Macbook Pro 13 inch and 15 inch. Which one is better for running heavy apps like Photoshop/Lightroom/Aperture?

No one knows when or if Apple is going to upgrade the MacBook Pro line this year.
If you need a computer now, for heavy graphics use, you'd be best served with either the 15" Retina or non-Retina. My choice would be the non-Retina, since you can upgrade the RAM and hard drive, replacing it with either a larger capacity, faster drive and up to 16GB of RAM. The 15" models also have discrete graphics processors, available with up to 1GB of memory: thus they are better machines for heavy graphics use.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Will apple swap my Macbook Pro?

    hi guys,
I bought a 13 inch macbook pro this summer (in june when it came out), now ive been experiencing some problems, the computer is running very slow (boots up much slower and apps take much longer to load), also it has restart many times and even once a world sign showed up instead of the apple logo when booting up. All of this has been happening since approx 2 months. My question is, will apple swap or repair my mac and is there a change that they could swap it for the 13 inch macbook air?
    Thank you in advance

You had 14 days from the date of purchase to return or exchange a Mac.
    You already blew that chance.

  • Will apple replace a macbook if it is missing screws in back?

out of no where my MacBook which is less than a year old stopped working, so i tried taking off the screws myself to see if there was something inside the computer. When i put the screws in a few of them fell out a few days later. I really need to get my computer replaced but it is missing a few screws... will this count as "damaged" and void my warranty?

Check your warranty status here >  Apple -  Check Your Service and Support Coverage
It's up to Apple whether or not the warranty will cover the repair cost.
Take your Mac to an Apple Store or Apple certified repair provider >  Apple - Find Locations
They won't charge anything just to look at it.

  • Will apple replace my macbook lcd display if still under warranty ?

    Please help me ASAP

Is the MacBook LCD physically damaged? Physical damage is not covered by the Terms and Conditions of your limited warranty.
If the MacBook LCD is flawed or defective then it's replacement would be covered by your limited warranty.
    The limited warranty can be found here;
    http://images.apple.com/legal/warranty/docs/cpuwarranty.pdf
    I hope this helps!

It sure seemed like you were. Otherwise you might of Replied to the OP with "That's right Have Apple do it as there are no New batteries available other then from Apple and they won't sell it to you directly with doing the replacement". Instead of replying to me.
    Thanks.

  • Will Apple open my Macbook Pro for me?

I'm just curious, I was trying to install new RAM, and the screws are just so tight that I am only ruining them as I try, will they open it up for me for free?
The RAM is third-party, but I can install it myself once the system is open.
Also, I've never brought an Apple product into their store for help.. I'm curious would this happen on the spot if they could do it for free, or would I have to drop it off?

If you provide the RAM they will install it for you for free. Goto www.apple.com/retail and find your store, then make sure you set up an appointment at the genius bar for mac. All the appropriate links will be on the page after you select your store. Choose a time, and then just show up at the Apple store 5 minutes before your scheduled. When you get to the store make sure you check in with somebody at the Genius Bar and let the know you are there. Then it should be a quick 5-10 min wait and they will take care of you!

MY QUE IS, WILL IT BE FIXED IF I UPGRADE FROM OSX 10.8.5 TO MAVERICKS? What other options do I have? What can be an approximate cost for fixing this problem?

Of course not. It's a hardware problem, so it can't be fixed by upgrading software. The only option you have got is to take the MacBook to an Apple Store or reseller.
That error indicates a problem with the hard drive. What you have to do is to make a backup of your files and take the MacBook to an Apple Store or reseller, so they can confirm that the problem is the hard drive and not the SATA connector, which could be worse.
If it's a hard drive issue, it's not expensive (about $100-200, depending on the hard drive). If it's a SATA connector issue, the whole logic board may have to be replaced.
Note that you can replace the hard drive yourself if you want, but the cost between doing it yourself and taking the MacBook to an Apple Store or reseller is similar

dropped my macbook pro off my desk it still works but there is a noise that sounds like the fan will apple replace the laptop for a cost the same way they do with the iPhone ?

Yes, Apple has an Out of Warranty replacement, but frankly you'd be better off buying a more current generation of iPhone.

Select your country from the drop down list.

    likely display inverter board.
did you get your inverter board replaced already?
    Did you have a question?
If the diagnostic in shop indicates same, thats 1000X better than anyone can do online in "diagnosis" (not really genuine diagnosis of course)
