My iPod touch has been acting up lately and it doesn't seem to respond at times but I dropped it a while ago and their is a little dent on the bottom right barley noticeable and I'm wondering if apple will still replace it I'm still under warranty.
The dent happened a couple months ago and the iPod started to act up strangely since last week
So I doubt it's when I dropped it

@lllaass I just cracked the screen on my Ipod touch 8gb 4th gen which i just bought wednesday from Target. However, I have one of those military grade portective films over it. As Peter says above, only an Apple Store genius can advise you.
But to further clarify, you seem to postulate that if Apple helps you, the cure would be a replacement. That is not necessarily true. Let them look at it and advise you what the remedy is. They may offer you nothing (saying it's your fault), or they may offer you a solution (keeping your current iPhone), or possibly a replacement.

Ralph is correct. When you replace anything on your phone yourself, you void any warranty that is left on the phone, and even any support thereafter. Apple does not support third party products, and they will not touch your phone if you are willing to replace things yourself instead of spending the extra to go to a store to do it right. Sorry.

I got my iphone last august and it worked fine until my lock button broke. My phone was covered under warranty so apple replaced it. Lo and behold, my lock button broke once again this past week. The guy opened my phone up and looked at my lock button and said the procedure would be complicated to fix and that it would be very expensive so I decided not to have anything done and he put my phone back together. I got home and got onto the apple support website to see where I could go from here since I don't want a broken phone for another year. I chatted with a representative in the chat room thing. I gave him my phone's serial and MEID number and he said my phone was still under warranty! I was shocked because the person at Verizon told me I wasn't under warranty and there was nothing that could be done. The apple guy told me that I could get my phone replaced and all I had to do was go to the apple store and swap it out for a new one. My question is, will by warranty be voided since I went to a third party repair shop? My phone wasn't fixed the guy just looked at it to see what the problem was and then put it back together. I know that once you do that your warranty is voided, but I feel like I am in a special circumstance since I did it thinking I was out of warranty since that's what I was told at Verizon. What should I do?

Nobody here can tell you what Apple will do as we don't work for them. Make a Genius Bar appointment at the Apple Store and see what they say. If they say no you have only lost your time and some gas but you will no for sure.

So, my friends at university say that there ipods are running strong at 3 hours of battery while its 3 years old, but for me its only 1 hour.
Is it possible that i can go to my nearest apple store and get my ipods 4 battery replaced?

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $79 if only the batter is bad. They do not fix yours.

Jailbreaking voids the warranty. Apple will not repair your iPod and as soon as they realise it's been jailbroken, they will return it to you in the same condition that you sent it to them.

I know that they don't cover accidents but I went in on the Sunday before Christmas and they said I could get a replacement but I decided to wait so I could back up my iPad and now I've made 3 appointments and haven't vote to either of them and it just happened today on the 5th the day of my appointment but again couldn't make it and they replaced my iPod tough in 2011 for water damage unless they changed their warranty but thank you guys for answering :)
