Will apple tv act like a router?
Will the apple tv (2nd gen) act like a router if I connect my smart tv to it via the ethernet cable?
I know this is a long shot but seeing as how the apple tv is connect via the wireless it would save me running a network cable or network adapter to the tv which isn't wireless.

Performance of layer 3 switches when they are acting like a router

I want to know what are the performance differences of layer 3 switches when they are acting just like a router with lots of route entries in their routing table in compare to when they are acting in layer 2?
The layer 3 switch in our case is “WS-C3750X-24T-S”
I guess there is a difference between these two situations:
when the switch is acting in layer 3 and just routes packet between different VLAN (in routing table we just have entries for connected interfaces and nothing else)
when the switch is acting in layer 3 and also has to do routing based on static routes or routes learned via a routing table
I think in situation 1 the switch performance is just like when it is acting in layer 2 but I don’t know about situation 2. Does anyone know about this?

Actually there is no difference unless you reach a capacity limit of routing table and other TCAM entries.
Also you need to note that some IOSs do not support full (but stub only) EIGRP functionality.

This Apple is acting like a PC-----ordering a book problems!!!!
I am trying to order a book from iPhoto 09. It assembles the book, then starts uploading the book. After uploading, I get: "An unexpected error has occured. Please try again later" I have tried "later" to no avail. I even went to store.apple.com and tried rentering my 1-click account info. NO HELP!!!!! I have the latest updated most recent iPhoto version. I must say this is VERY annoying. I really don't want to call Apple......I've had about enough of their "help"(mostly 20 somethings that say "like" entirely to much and who recommend a fix by downloading some pirated software off the net.) It's almost 2am and I'm off to bed before a 24" iMac goes out of my window!!!! Someone please help!!!!
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. How long has this been going on and when did it start? It could be a server side problem and not on your end. I've gotten that message a couple of times and only time would fix it, i.e. wait for the server to fix the problems and try again later - sometimes a day or two.

After applying update my apple tv2 will randomly go to a black screen that lasts for a few seconds. When it gets back to normal after a few seconds it acts like the video never stopped since its farther along in the timeline. This happens with all video content wether its from Netflix or streaming from my iTunes library
You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for a 30 seconds. If that doesn't help try using another HDMI cable.

Don't worry, just follow these steps to fix iPhone stuck on Apple logo
=> First of all Start your Computer and then connect with Internet connection, now Download the latest version of the iTunes application
=> Now install the iTunes application in your System and connect your Device with computer via Data cable
=> Now connect your Device with iTunes application and then Tab on summary option, see in the left side bar of iTunes
=> Now Select restore option from iTunes and then confirm the Restore Message for better results. After this unplug your Device and Restart it

My iPod will go to the app store and act like it's connected but once I try to download the app and I put in my password it says that I can't connect to the iTunes store

My Mac g5 starts and goes to finder. The desktop has disappeared. Also the circle keeps spinning. It will stop for a minute, then start again. It acts like something is running. I have restarted multiple times. Can anyone help please? Thank you.

When using home sharing, the computer is on and running iTunes and the content is sent over the local network to the Apple TV.

Apple does not take trade-ins. You'll have to look for a dealer that does, though you'll probably get more for the iPad 1 if you sell it yourself.

My 1st Gen Apple TV remote worked fine yesterday and today acts like it is unpaired (amber flash when I hit a button). Is there a way to pair it or another remote now?
Thanks.A 5 GHz network cannot reach as far as a 2.4 GHz one, nor is it able to penetrate walls and the like anywhere near as well, it is not therefor always an ideal solution. It can help avoid interference from neighbouring networks but it may not avoid interference from other household appliances. You might want to try another wifi channel or even temporarily move the Apple TV closer to the AP for diagnostics.

I have 3 apple systems.. Mac, Macpro, and IPad.. I have a seperate e-mail account set up of each but facetime is still acting like it is calling itself on the Mac.. do you have to have seperate appleID on each system?
You don't need 3 separate Apple IDs, but you do need to set up each device with a unique email address for Facetime to communicate between the devices. You can go to Settings > Facetime and add another email address for each device.

Apple Care for pro software acting like Microsoft?
I am having massive problems with Logic and system overload messages since upgrading to a 27" IMac quad. This is frustrating because these were the same issues I was having with my 3-yr old dual core. I am waiting to upgrade to Logic 9 since I am seeing reports on the forum of users having the same issues with 9.2. I called using my 90 day Apple care, was transferred to a Logic tech, who said I only had 90 days of help with pro apps. After that, its $199 per incident, or $399 a year. So its $400/year for help with a $400 program! Tech explained that the program used to cost $1000 so they are using this to get their development costs back. This is the most annoyed I've been with Apple, if I had this problem earlier I'd have returned the IMac. So be warned, use your help quota in the first 90 days or it gets expensive.

DHCP seems not the way it is.Comcast certainly can and does put the SMC modem into bridging mode for customers.
