Will Apple TV be able to play Redbox Instant movies? Redbox Instant is a simular company to NetFlix in that you can rent movies (DVDs) or download available subscription content movies, but Redbox Instant is NOT simular to Amazon or Amazon Prime. Why is Apple TV favoring and partnering with Netflix versus Redbox?

Apple has made no announcement as to any relationship with Redbox. They may or may not be discussing a deal. However, and I may be mistaken, I believe Redbox has an exclusive deal with Verizon for this service, so this has nothing to do with Apple "favoring" anyone. It takes 2 to tango.
Also, there is an iOS app available for this that can easily be used to send an Airplay signal to the AppleTV from an iPad or iPhone.

All tracks in iTunes (if you use default settings) should be in various artist and album folders in the main media folder in the iTunes folder. You can right click a track to reveal its location in Finder. If there's a copy there then it doesn't really matter what you do with other copies.
I have never downloaded from iTunes but I thought it placed files directly in the correct locations, or is this some other downloads folder to which you are referring?
Normally if you download a file from another source and add it to iTunes by dragging it there, or using the Add To menu item, it places a copy of the file in iTunes. You can discard the original, but if you're concerned you can check which copy iTunes is actually using as above.

When will apple start releasing a good selection of proper movies? I think people are a little frustrated at the limited choice. HD seems to be ignored. I love my Apple TV but I need good quality content if I am to take it seriously.

Will GarageBand ever be able to play music (audio) through the AV Adapter?

Anyone able to play Amazon Instant Video using Apple Digital AV Adapter

Amazon just released the Amazon Instant Video app for the iPad July 31, 2012. Version is 1.0
It's not a great app yet. I can get it to play on the iPad (by itself). When I hook up the iPad to the TV using the Digital AV Adapter, the app gets very unstable, crashes at times, doesn't load shows....basically doesn't work. Virtually everything else on the iPad displays fine on the TV using the adapter. I've tried Safari, Netflix, and a couple of games just to see if the problem was with the iPad or the app. The problem is with the app.
I emailed Amazon support via feedback within the app, and got responses back similar to this:
"I'm so sorry for the trouble you facing with the Instant videos which you want to play on TV.
I understand now a days all the TV's are HDMI connected but I assure you that we are working for the improvements required on this field.
The Amazon Instant Video app for iPad does not support playback on HDMI-connected TVs.
Customer feedback like yours helps us continue to improve the service we provide. I've forwarded your feedback to our Amazon Instant Video team for consideration as we make future improvements."
I find it hard to believe they designed it to not work that way-I replied and asked them if it was...have not heard back yet.
Has anyone been able to view Amazon Instant Video on their TV from an iPad ? If yes, how did you do it.?

Where did you read that the app doesn't support this? Their app description says it does not support AirPlay. I'm not using AirPlay. It doesn't mention anywhere that it doesn't support iPads connected to TVs with HDMI, except in a support email response back to me.
With the iPad hard wired to the TV with the Apple Digital AV Adapter and an HDMI cable, on all of the other apps I've tried, the TV mirrors the iPad display. Even the few free games I tried would do this. This app falls apart when you hook up the HDMI to the iPad. To me that's a bug. I find it hard to believe that they designed it to not put out compatible digital video from the iPad. I would rather have seen their email response say that this is a known bug and that they are working on a fix. Maybe they are just beginning to understand the issues with version 1 and told the poor people answering the support emails to just say that it's not supported.
I'm not particularly upset with them, as it is v1.0 of a free app. It's got plenty of other shortcomings. I was hoping that it would work somthat we could take advantage of the Amazon Prime stuff we're paying for without having to go out and buy another set top box or Blu-ray player that was compatible with their stuff.
I would have gladly paid some money for a well designed app. Wish they had gone that route.

If the damage is not user inflicted, Apple will replace it.
Frankly the only way to know for sure is to take it to Apple and ask them.

Apple TV not able to play my slides shows and music from my MacBook pro

Hello, I have just upgraded my software for my Apple TV correct me if I am wrong but in the past I was able to stream photo's in the form of slide show with iTunes music direct to my Apple TV and play on my big screen TV. The only reason I bought the Apple TV was that I had many slide shows I like to show to family and friends on my big TV instead of bringing home the slide projector? What happend? Now I can only download photos onto the Apple TV and it plays its own slide show with Random music...not what I paid the $300 for a year ago? What has happend or have lost my mind?

The slideshow feature is no longer available with the current software, it's possible that additional slideshow features contained within the new version of iphoto could not be supported by the tv.
You can however export your slideshow as a movie from iphoto, iphoto 8 supports export to a number of video formats supported by the tv including high resolution versions which the previous version of iphoto did not.

Last night I was watching programs on Apple TV with only one problem: I was not able to purchase the entire season of "Homeland" but could purchase and watch individual episodes. Today I am able to watch only previews and trailers from iTunes. After attempting to purchase a program I keep getting the message: "Apple TV is. Unable to connect to the server at this time. Please try again later." I am able to watch programs on Hulu, Netflix, etc. without problems.

I have a similar problem. After a recent update I cannot access the iTunes Store to resubscribe to Hulu. "Cannot access iTunes Store at this time." Dunno what to do.

I for the life i have used itunes have so much movies, tv shows etc here on the uk store but if i lose something can redownload it as much as i need but if i've lost a movie im screwed. does anyone know if we will be able to get this feature as there is in the USA Store

You should make backups of all your files. Losing a few movies may be the least of your worries when your hard drive dies. If you have backups then it doesn't matter if you can download a second time. Even if you could, a rights holder may decide to tell Apple to no longer distribute a movie, and then it would be gone again. If you have it on your backup then that does not matter.
The media rights holders say what can and cannot be done. Apple isn't known for announcing its plans until it is ready to implement them, so we cannot answer your question.

Will Apple have a new UHD feature on for Movies purchase and/or rented on iTunes?

It seems to me that with the growing demand of 4K displays, and with the new release of the new iMac with Retina 5K display, not to mention the pre-existing MacBook Pros with Retina Display, that there is a definite profit to be made from UHD (Ultra High Definition) movies. With the release of UHD Blu-rays and players coming next December, it seems a likely path that apple will (hopefully) take and a path that other media providers (i.e. Amazon, Sony Video Unlimited, Netflix etc.) already have taken. It seems likely to me, but what do you think?

We are fellow users, we won't know until if/where Apple announce something - but it will also require the rights-holders to be willing to provide their content in that format to Apple.

I was able to play my HD movie just fine last night, but can't today. Why?

Last night I was watching Back to the Future in HD and it was awesome. Tonight I was planning on watching Back to the Future II, which I got in the same HD bundle on iTunes. I went to go play it, and got an error saying "To play 'Back to the Future II' in HD, you must have a computer with a built-in display or have it connected to a display that supports HDCP."
I tried again with the first movie, and got the same error! I'm on the same laptop with the same everything. It's a pretty nice gaming laptop too, to the hardware can't be the issue. I just want to watch my favorite movies. I finally have time and now this.

It sounds like you are unable to watch an HD download becuase of the message saying that your display must support HDCP. The following Knowledge Base article offers up nformation on why this message can pop up:

Apple TV v1 woes- no control and won't play computer rented movies

I've got two possibly separate issues going on with my Apple TV v1.
1st issue- In Itunes, when my Apple TV is selected, I have no controls for changing settings, syncing. It has been this way since v2 was introduced and the ahem updates hit.
2nd issue- While I am able to play purchased downloaded movies and TV through streaming on my v1 Apple TV, my rented movies don't show up at all.
I would appreciate any help- most of all from Apple. I'd like to believe that Apple hasn't thrown the purchasers of Apple TV1 out to the dogs and that they would support both products with their updates.

I would guess this is a restriction of your internet service in the UAE - A lot of middle eastern countries are restricted. Get yourself a router that support VPN, purchase a subscription to StrongVPN and then you will appear to be in the UK.
