Will Apple warranty my battery for free?

My battery meter is constantly at 100% FOREVER it seems, then it goes down to about ~84% and die it started out staying at 100% and dying around ~30%. I always take care of my electronic devices about keeping them out of adverse temperatures and I did a charge cycle every month And to try to fix it I've tried everything from doing a hard reset to completely restoring he phone... I bought this iPhone 4S around 6 months ago and is running 6.0.1.

The warranty is 1 year from date of activation (2 years if you purchased AppleCare). They will replace the battery free if it is in warranty. You can check the warranty status here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
Note that the warranty is only valid in the country of purchase (except the EU counts as one "country" for Warranty purposes), and is void if the phone has been hacked or jailbroken (yes, they can tell).

  • Will Apple replace my battery for free?

I have a first gen 15" macbook pro - one of the first production runs which was subject to the battery recall in 2006 (remember? the one that apple insisted had absolutely nothing to do with Sony's exploding batteries...)
That battery was subsequently replaced under warranty in May 2008 - i had 3 year hardware warranty because i bought it through my uni. However in January this year, it's performance seemed to degrade somewhat so I called Apple - I was told that because Apple had already replaced it once, they would not replace it again, despite it still being within warranty, well below 300 cycles and capacity being in the region of 50% of initial according to Coconut Battery. I was told all i could do was try to calibrate it. I did this and things improved enough for me to drop it. Wish I hadn't because the warranty ended in February.
I am now in the position of no longer being under warranty and the battery capacity degraded to about 25% of initial capacity. Since i installed Snow Leopard I have had the Service Battery warning. Has anybody had any experiences with Out-Of-Warranty battery replacements? I'm thinking of taking it to an Apple Store but don't want to bother with the journey if they won't replace it - i'll order a non-apple higher capacity one online!

"Will Apple replace my battery for free?"
No one here can answer your question because this is a user to user forum. You will need to call Apple yourself & ask them.
    "Condition: Check Battery"
Means you need a new battery which you already know.
"Has anybody had any experiences with Out-Of-Warranty battery replacements?"
Not me personally. However, there have been cases reported here (if you do a fourm search) some users have had their batteries replaced out of warranty. Apparently, Apple does this on a _*case by case*_ basis.
Your best bet is to call Customer Relations - 1-800-767-2775 plead your case politely & see what they can do for you.
    Good luck!

  • Battery cycle count of 390 - will Apple replace my battery for free?

I've got a MacBook, late 2008 model. It has a cycle count of 390. I have no idea if this is a lot or not. The MacBook only will work when connected to the charger, the battery won't charge any longer.
Will Apple replace my battery for free? Or is a cycle count of 390 high and will I have to replace it myself...

No, battery is consumable under apple warranty so you have to burchase it. 390 cycle is ok, the effect will be seen when it reach <1000. see this is mine MBP, early 2011

  • I smashed the screen of my iphone 5 earlier and it was bought just before christmas, i was wondering will apple repair the screen for free or swap the phone?

i smashed the screen of my iphone 5 earlier and it was bought just before christmas, i was wondering will apple repair the screen for free or swap the phone? the phone is still working fine, just the screen needs changing by the looks of it.

Why would Apple replace or repair the phone for free? Will a car manufacturer replace or repair the car you drove into a wall for free? If you sit on your spectacles, will the optician give you another pair for free?
You can get an out of warranty replacement phone for $199 in the US, similar price in your local currency.

Since you dropped it the damage is not covered under the warranty (read your warranty.)
If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

  • My iPhone 4 lock button broke, will Apple fix/replace it for free under the one year warranty?

I've had my iPhone 4 for just under a year now and a couple weeks ago the lock button broke. At first, it was just difficult to press down and now it's just completely stuck. I've been using the assistive touch but it's kind of a hassle. I still have a few days left of my one year warranty, so if I went to the Apple Store would they fix/replace my phone for free or would I have to pay? Also, I was having issues with my speakers previously so I went to get it fixed and they said my phone has water damage and I would need to pay to fix it. Will the water damage effect them fixing my lock button too or is it different? Any advice/guidence is greatly appreciated!

If there is water damage then they will likely conclude that your issues are a result of that and you will have to pay.
But don't ask us, ask them. We're users and this have no idea what Apple will say in your case.

  • My iPhone 4 ( still under warranty ) has a dead gyroscope. Will Apple replace my iPhone for free?

I recently upgraded to IOS 7. Once I upgrade I noticed that the gyroscope in my phone was acting strange. Just recently it went completely dead. If I take my phone to the Apple store and they verify it as a hardware issue will they replace my iPhone? It is still under warranty. Also since Apple stopped making the iphone 4 will they give me a newer version? Thanks

If  your warranty is still valid and there is no evidence of abuse (water damage, dropping, etc.) your phone will be replaced for free with the same model refurbished iPhone 4.

  • Will Apple replace my charger for free?

Got my macbook in august of last year. The charger just recently stopped working about three days ago (I haven't done anything to it. The part that actually plugs into the computer is fine, I believe theres something wrong with the wiring inside of it.) Will they replace it for free, or will I have to end up buying a new one?

Did you purchase AppleCare prior to your standard warranty running out?
Why not call AC & ask them if they will replace your Magsafe for free and/or take your MBP & the Magsafe to the AS or an AASP?
Last resort would be to call Apple Customer Relations.  See what they can do for you.

  • I smashed my ipod 4th generation screen, it still works and i have my one year guarantee, will apple replace my screen for free?

I still have my guarantee, could i go to a apple store to replace the screen for free?

No, accidental damage is not covered by the warranty
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • Will Apple replace my iPhone for free?

So, last November I bought an new, 32GB Black iPhone 4S at a local Verizon Wireless store. Tonight, I noticed that the sleep/wake/power/lock button would not press down and was not responsive. I have come to the conclusion that I somehow jammed it into the phone.
Since there is no Apple Store nearby, I plan on taking it into a Verizon Wireless store tomorrow. What do you think they will tell me? Will they replace it for free, or open it up to fix it themselves? I have not jailbroken the device, so my warrenty is clear.

If it is defective, then they will replace it.
ONLY Apple can tell you this.
Based on what you said, I would guess that it is likely.

  • I just recently bought my macbook pro 13 inch with still a 1 year battery warranty. When I don't even use my laptop, it drains my battery 30%. Would apple change my battery for free if i have a 1 year warranty on it?

Do you think i should go to an Apple store to change my battery or go to the store where i bought it?

Your battery would slowly drain during any period of disuse even if it were removed from the computer and nothing were connected to it at all. A fundamental property of every battery is that whenever it isn't being charged, it's draining. If your compputer is shut down entirely, expect the battery to lose 0.5-1% per 24 hours without AC power connected. When it's sleeping, it will lose closer to 1% per hour. In either situation, leaving the AC adapter plugged in will prevent the battery from draining more than 5-7% in total before it starts to charge back up again.

  • I dropped my 13" Macbook pro and there is a dent in it. I still have the warranty coverage. Will Apple repair the Macbook for free, or will I have to pay for the damage done to it?

Wanting to know whether apple can repair the damage done to the macbook.

You’ll need to pay. The warranty doesn’t cover accidental damage such as that.

  • I broke my I touch 4.... Twice. Will apple give me it for free? Will they charge?

    I'm not sure!

If accidental damage that is not covered by the warranty.
If your iPod is within warranty, not abused (e.g., dripped) and defective Apple will exchange it for no cost. Other wise.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished for this price:

  • HT2978 my earphones just broke, will apple store replace them for free if i have apple car and has been less than a year since i bought the phone ?

    please help

There's only one way to find out what Apple might do in your case. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.
I will say though that I've had two iPads and an iPhone and my wife also has an iPhone. Total use time is 6-7 years and we've never had a cable tear or fail.

  • Is it true that apple will fix your products once for free ?

Is it true that apple will fix your products once for free ?
my iphone  just turned off last night and wont turn back on...

Is it true that apple will fix your products once for free ?
    No.
my iphone  just turned off last night and wont turn back on...
    Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.  If still under warranty, take it in to Apple for a potnetial warranty replacement.  If not, you may be able to get an out-of-warranty replacement for $149.
