At a press conference here in SF yesterday we posed the following question to an AT&T spokesman: Will the AT&T contacts of current iPhone users who choose to upgrade to the 3G iPhone be required to have their original contracts extended by two years? The answer was: No.
Current iPhone users with AT&T contracts will simply see a boost of $10 in their monthly fee but their contract terms will remain the same. Thus, if you bought an iPhone one year ago and have a two-year AT&T contract, your new 3G iPhone will be tied to that original AT&T service contract and will expire in one year, not two.
Why am I reading so many contradictory contract statements here? i.e., "Yes, you have to have a new 2-year contract..." Has AT&T put anything about this in writing anywhere? If not, why not?

There are three possible outcomes in such a scenario: your assumption that the present contract will simply continue until its original expiration date is one interpretation, but based largely on historic carrier behavior and other evidence offered, that outcome seems highly unlikely.
The other outlier is adding a two-year term to your present contract, elongating both into a hybrid greater than two-year agreement, which again seems just as unlikely.
The reasonable interpretation—absent any evidence to the contrary and give the information made available to date—is that a new two-year contract will REPLACE your original two year contract, no matter what length of time currently remains on the original contract, leaving you with a two-year commitment on the day of activation of a new 3G iPhone.

IPhone Calendar List View Extends Back Only One Year

My iPhone calendar List view extends back approximately one year despite the fact that I have calendar entries extending back to 1999 and that older data is visible under the Day and Month views. This is a problem because the only search mechanism in iPhone calendar is through the List view. Therefore, any search I conduct extends back only to the data in the List view ... which means back only one year.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on how I could change this such that the List view extends to include ALL of my calendar entries and is in conformity with the Day and Month views? (I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to "correct" this, but perhaps Apple has designed it this way to speed-up the searching in List view ... I'm not certain.)
I am currently running the most recent iOS update, am syncing my iPhone calendar via MobileMe, have upgraded to the new version of the MobileMe calendar, and have ALREADY reset my sync. history, deleted my iPhone calendar and re-synced it, etc. These don't resolve the problem.

I've noticed that the date to which the List View will "look back" will change depending on software updates or syncs.
For instance, a few weeks ago my List View went back to December 2009 ... now it goes back to Jan. 2010 (i.e. I lost a month of "look back"). I do not specifically recall what triggered this change, but I reset my sync. log during this period.
If you make no changes to the sync. log or update the software, the List View start date will stay constant I believe. For instance, if the List View goes back to Jan. 1, 2010 right now it should stay that way until you reset the sync. log or update the iPhone software. Theoretically then the List View can "look back" much longer than 12 months assuming you make no changes to the sync. log or update the software. Of course, this doesn't address our issue here, but I thought I would point out that there seems to be a consistent pattern here and not some random bug screwing things up.
I'm still thinking that this is the way Apple intended it to work. In other words, that Apple felt it necessary to limit the calendar search feature to approximately 12 months worth of calendars. I hope I'm wrong.

This is very much doable and is supported by standard SAP because conditions in contracts are always time-dependent
i.e you can enter a validity period for all your condition types (like say Gross price PB00 )
So just Create a contract by entering the validity period of the contract it self ( in your case 3 years )
And then enter details .i.e material qty etc ->go to-> item conditions-.> Enter your condition types (like PB00,FRB1) -.here you will find Validity i,e Valid From and Valid to enter dates as per your need (first 1 year in your case)
At later stage when you get the price details for the next periods
Go to ME32K -.Overview ->Item conditions ->It will open a Pop up (show your previous validity periods) ->New validity period
here maintain next validity (2nd year in our case ) ->and Price for this validity - >Save
Like this You can maintain as as many validity periods and price for that validity period as you need

You can purchase such extension only if your model is covered by such service. As far as I know you have to input always the notebooks serial number just to check if an service (warranty extension) is possible or not.
In case such extension isnt possible, you will not be able to purchase it

It's not going to happen. Even a cursory reading of the forums would have revealed this fact.
Apple can NOT help you. AT&T WILL NOT help you.
Leave your iPhone at home or in airplane mode while you're in India and buy yourself a cheap disposable phone to use while you're in India. I believe AT&T still has a program where they will put your account "on hold" while you are gone for a small fee.

Oh no! Lets ensure that you are connected. Have you tried to reset the Network Extender? Are other devices able to connect to the Extender? Is your Internet service up and running?

I also have a 4 year old iMac 24". it is the 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo. I have been running Mountain Lion since it was released, and before that Lion. Runs great. Over the last month I have noticed some slow data transfers from a USB harddrive. But not enough to do any research. I use a USB harddrive for my Time Machine backup and notice no problems or slow transfers while the Time Machine backup runs. My iTunes has its nedia files on a USB harddrive and is used to watch videos, play music and share photos on the AppleTV. I also use Aperture on the iMac to store and manage 20,000 photos.
I have 6 GB of ram, 4GB and 2GB memory sticks. I know it is best to have identical ram sticks but my iMac model cannot run 8GB of ram and I feel 6GB is better than 4GB.
Mountain Lion is a great OS and I am glad I upgraded. It works great with the AppleTV (no airplay but iTunes on the iMac serves up all our music, photos and videos), iPhone, and iPod Touch. Also with my wifes brand new Macbook Pro. All the devices including the iMac can share data on iCloud.

Will Aperture 3 work on my 3 year old MacBook, OS 10.4.11, I would upgrade to a newer OS but am concerns for conflicts with existing files, programs (EI Photoshop CS1) etc. I love the advertised features but don't want to open a new can of worm or simply buy software that will not work on my present MacBook. Am I better off to wait till I upgrade my computer? Also looking at all the problems that present users are having on the Apple discussions make Aperture look like it has a lot of issues, is this the general reality?

Those of us using Photoshop and other heavy graphics-handling apps for decades soon discovered that "works" and "usable in a pro workflow" are two different things. I remember answering many Photoshop complaints identical to this 8+ years ago.
Similarly, relying on vendors' published "System Requirements" has never worked. E.g. Adobe CS2 listed 256 MB RAM, CS4 listed 512 MB RAM and even today CS5 claims 1 GB RAM; anyone trying to run graphics in a pro workflow at those levels would have issues. Yet users on forums like this one would say "But the System Requirements say..."
No Apple laptop was strong enough to run Photoshop functionally until the Intel boxes, and within Intel laptops there is huge performance improvement as one progresses up from lowest end Core Duos to Core2 Duos, i3s, i5s and i7s. My first successful PS box was a PPC 8500 graphics tower made pretty much especially for PS, and even at that top end applying a filter to an image would take many seconds, sometimes hours.
*The nature of the heavy-graphics-app beast has always been that one needs to live in top end hardware to keep up with top end graphics apps.* Today the base hardware has largely caught up to Photoshop's demands, but apps like Aperture and Final Cut Pro still demand top hardware.
Personally I want developers to be designing state-of-the-art graphics apps to fully utilize/need state-of-the-art hardware. It is not that hard to keep up: my 2007 17" C2Duo MBP with 3 GB max-possible RAM works OK and my 2006 MP tower works well. Those boxes are not state-of-the-art by any stretch, but they are high end hardware for their time; and (carefully set up) they work. Unfortunately we cannot reasonably drive an app like Aperture using any 4 year old Core Duo box that was lower end when new.

On the Windows computer with HFM App Server installed :
Start --> All Programs --> Oracle EPM System --> Financial Management --> Utilities --> Application Year Update
The file location should be :
<MIDDLEWARE HOME>\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialManagement\Utilities\FMChangeNumberOfYearsForApp.exe (or FMChangeNumberOfYearsForApp_x64.exe)
example : C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialManagement\Utilities\FMChangeNumberOfYearsForApp_x64.exe
If it is not there, perhaps the version your have didn't include it yet? (I have 11.1.2.1) If it's not there you can :
a.) Log into oracle support (support.oracle.com) and search for the item given by another user in this thread
b.) Download components for HFM App Server for a version that has the utility (i.e. 11.1.2.1) and extract it from the compressed files. [Probably not recommended unless you are pretty comfortable dealing with archive files, etc.]

AT&T and europe all use GSM . There is no CDMA in Europe
A genuine unlocked iPhone 4/4S from Europe will work fine
A similar unlocked iP5 will work on 3G but NOT on 4G as the
European iP5 does not have the 4G bands suitable for use in US
and the warranty will not be valid in the US it is not international

Assuming you are referring to the US, no one knows for sure but probably 4 to 6 weeks after the release of the iPhone 5 for the same price as the 4s.
