Will camera raw 8.7.1 update via plugin be available to Photoshop Elements 12 or at least Photoshop Elements 13?

Hello
Will the recent camera raw 8.7.1 update via plugin be available to Photoshop Elements 12 or at least Photoshop Elements 13? (Mac)
I understand it likely won't for PSE 12, however what about PSE 13? The official "Adobe Website" info for PSE 13 only refers to Camera Raw module V.8.6. Can someone advise please?
Would customer support email a link to the plugin module for Camera Raw 8.7.1 for a manual download/installation? The official 8.7.1 DNG/CR Download packages available via Adobe.com are only complete packages and won't update the embedded PSE plug-in mentioned above.
Many thanks for your support
Jonny

As far as photoshop elements is concerned, the added camera support for the sony A7II in camera raw 8.7.1 is probably the only thing on this page that affects pse.
(the camera raw version in photoshop elements doesn't have any user setting for camera lens profiles or applying chromatic aberration)
Camera Raw 8.7.1 is now available
Photoshop elements should have camera raw 8.7 available using Help>Updates from within the photoshop elements 13 editor.
(very unlikely that pse 12 will ever get the camera raw 8.7.1 update or any camera raw updates past camera raw 8.5)
Do you need camera raw support for that camera in photoshop elements 13?
If you do, i would post at these two places and see if you get any response from an adobe employee.

When will Camera raw be available for processing Canon 7d Mark two in Photoshop Elements 12?

    Hi,
    Probably never.
PSE 13 is now out and updates are usually only compatible with the latest version - ACR 8.6 didn't even make it for PSE 12.
ACR 8.7 for PSE 13 should probably include support but we don't know when it will be released.

When will Camera Raw and Photoshop support Nikon 610 cameras

    Hi,
What version of photoshop and operating system are you using?
Photoshop cs6 and photoshop cc should open those files.
You might just need to go to Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6/cc to get an updated camera raw plugin
Camera raw 8.3 or 8.4, depending on your operating system.

  • Camera RAW support 2.2 update and Nikon .NEF unsupported image format

    Hi,
I Use a Nikon D2x and only take raw images (.NEF file)
After I update from RAW support 2.1.1 update to RAW support 2.2 update, all my raw image file (.NEF file) taken before 13th September 2006 ! would not display - In the Aperture program, if i navigate to a project / folder and clicked on a thumb nail in the browser, I get a magenta / cyan screen showing in the main viewer panel with unsupported image format. ?
This is my worst-case scenario ! - I have entrusted Aperture with all my digital images (all raw .NEF) images taken before 13th September 2006 are un accessible with camera RAW support 2.2 update installed !
I have deleted (the 2.2 update) “from” System/Library/CoreServices/RawCamera.bundle and reinstall the RAW support 2.1.1 update.
    * NOW I can now see all my raw Nikon .NEF images and they are now all fully functional again *.
Their is a problem with the Apple digital camera RAW support 2.2 update, it rendered the Aperture program useless to me for my older .NEF image/files (as above).
    This requires a fix ASAP
    Martin

Thankfully, I wasn't affected by the issue given I'm currently with Canon. There have been Canon woes in the past though.
On a side note, I never update anything until it has been out for a few weeks just to be sure. Because Aperture is such an integral component of my studio and business, I make sure everything always works before making any updates or changes - including upgrading cameras.
I'm sure the next update will fix the magenta issues.

  • Apple Digital Camera RAW Support 2.2. update

After todays Apple Security Update 2008-007 the Apple Digital Camera RAW Support 2.2. update finally works correctly and the data can be aquired via card reader.
    Message was edited by: jdonath

    Lucky you jdonath....
I have still have the problem that have been mentioned in a number of posts in the forum, and what I guess you are refering to. And I have tried the advices I have found in those posts. I must admit that I might not have found them all.
The CF card on my Nikon D2Xs shows in finder, .nef files are there, but Aperture 2.1.1 don´t recognize my files only the card itself.
I use a card reader-not transferring files directly from the camera. I have installed the latest security update and camera raw 2.2. I have tried to go back to version 2.1 of the raw converter with no luck. I have repaired permissions, both with Onyx and with the disk tool in OSX.
Aperture opens when I put the CF card in the reader and it shows in the import option/drives window in Aperture, but the files are somewhere in outer space or at least hidden and unavailable for import.
So for now my solution is to dump the files to a picture dump folder on my hard-drive and import them from there to one of the libraries I use.
I have different libraries for work and private files in case someone wondered
It does not make any difference which library I use the problem is persistent. This feels like unnecessary work and not a very satisfying sollution in my workflow.
Yeah, yeah i use both belt and suspenders so the files are kept safe on an external drive as well. Manually copied of course... and btw i use a combo of referenced and managed files, but that should not make any difference. I have tried to alter that in the import options, with no apparent result of course.
Can anyone give me a hint what could (still) be wrong or do I have to be moderately patient and wait till next sunrise (it is late autumn and dark in Norway this time of year) , when Apple sends out version 2.3 and make a prayer that they remember that some photographers are still back in the stone age when comes to cameraequipment... ( I wish someone gave me a D3)
And just to make the confusion complete... It used to work BEFORE the security update last night...
    Cheers and my 2 cents

I have Photoshop CS5.1 (bought in 2011). The photoshop Camera Raw plug-in is not recognizing the format of my new Nikon D610. I updated the version of my Camera Raw plug in and am still getting this message when trying to open images in photoshop. Please help.

This link shows that ACR 8.3 supports the Nikon D610 and 6.7.1 was the final version for CS5.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
So you can upgrade to CS6 and ACR 8.7.1
or using the DNG converter, convert your Nikon raw files to dng format to open in CS5.
Here is the download link: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1
or Windows: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1
And here is a great video tutorial on how to use the converter.

Installed the CC updates yesterday. Downloaded pics from my Canon 70D in Camera Raw. Since the updates Bridge no longer recognizes them; advises me to get the latest update, which I have. Both Photoshop CC's recognize the pics, just not Bridge (thanks for having Photoshop now show thumbnails of CR pics). Any Ideas on how to fix?

Thanks for the link Jeff. Couldn't find any links on the Adobe site.
Even with that link though, I was still left puzzled as it didn't give multiple versions, just a 32 bit and 64 bit version.
I tried the 64 bit and it didn't work, so I assumed that was what had already been installed in the update.
Now installed the 32 bit version, and fingers crossed. At least it starts up now!

  • Can't update camera raw:  "Unable to apply updates"

Can't update camera raw:  "Unable to apply updates You are already running Adobe Application Manager. Please close all instances of Adobe Application Manager before applying updates." The only instance of AAM that is running is the one that opens automatically when I click "Updates" in the PS 6 Help menu.

    What's your OS ?
Check in Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac) if there is any instance of AAM running.

    HI
where i can dowload camera Raw 8.8 because update don't rub on Light room 5 or CC2014??
    Thanks
    Samsam

You can get the camera raw 8.8 updater from here for photoshop cc 2014
    Camera Raw plug-in installer
There is as of yet no update for lightroom 5
    http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2015/03/camera-raw-8-8-now-available.html
You would need to convert the files to dngs first before lightroom would read them.

  • When will camera raw update compatibility for Sony RX100 III be available?

Camera raw compatibility is now available for Sony RX100 III for all Adobe Applications.  Why is it not included in latest Apple update?  Any ideas when new camera raw compatibility for this camera will be available?  Why is Apple so slow on this?

Apple can't provide it until Sony provides it to Apple.  Our only source for such inso is THIS.

  • Adobe Camera Raw 8.4 RC "Update not applicable"

I just tried to install Camera Raw 8.4 RC and got the message that the update is not applicable. I have PS CC and LR installed via CC. Adobe Twitter Support redirected me here. Has anyone an idea of what to do?
Is there any log of the update process?
Is the final release in sight?
    Kind Regards.

Camera Raw is commonly used to refer to a Photoshop plug-in which is not related to LR, so an ACR release will not enhance LR in any way.
If, instead, your use of the term Camera Raw refers to a version of Adobe’s raw processing engine, then a new version of LR that contains the CR 8.4 engine, but not a CR 8.4 plug-in, is expected to be released.
Adobe isn’t saying when and the rest of us don’t know.

  • Camera Raw CS4 5.2 Update/Panasonic LX5 .RW2 Files Won't Open

Hi, recently purchased a Panasonic LX5 that shoots raw using the .rw2 extension. Tried importing into Camera Raw via Bridge, but couldn't get it to open. Read around and discovered that Raw needs to be manually updated to 5.2 and some profiles need to be installed (which I've done). Went to the Adobe download section and followed the directions for installing on a mac (OS 10.6.8) - when I open up other files it reads Camera Raw 5.2 at the top. However, the Panasonic LX5 files still won't open. Did some more searching and I've read that everything from the "files will open without problem" to "they need to be converted using a .DNG converter." So, I'm confused; am I doing something wrong? Is there an additional step I'm missing to the 5.2 update? Do I just need to download the .DNG converter and use that? Any help is appreciated.
    I'm on:
    Mac 10.6.8
    Running CS4

You should probably update all the way to Camera Raw 5.7, which was the latest update for Photoshop CS4.

  • Mac Pro/Bridge won't open 5DIII imported CR2s in Camera Raw, from desktop. Updates are current. WTF?

I have a Canon 5D Mark III and also just got the Mac Pro. Everything worked fine on my old iMac with CS6. I just put the software on the Mac Pro and made all the updates; none of the CR2 files will open in camera raw. The JPEGs are showing up with thumbnails, and open in photoshop, but the CR2s are not doing anything but showing a bunch of CR2 thumbnail icons and when I try to open one, it gives me this stupid irritating error message (image below). Will someone please help me get camera raw working on my mac pro? I've done everything Adobe's stupid website has told me to do. I can't express in words how infuriating this is. I am starting to hate Adobe. I've spent way too much money for this to be happening.

CS6 shipped with Adobe Camera Raw 7.0.
Camera Raw supported the 5D Mark III from version 7.1.
I suspect that your Camera Raw is not up to date.
You can manually install Camera Raw 8.3 if you download it from
