Will current (v. 12) Firefox for Mac correctly open using a saved profile from Firefox 3.6 Mac?

Hi,
When I have a lot of windows and tabs open on a single subject, sometimes will save the Firefox profile folder, then simply replace the current profile with it when wish to get back to the same business. (And usually "restore" the current one when done.)
Was wondering if upgraded to current Firefox 12, could I simply pop a saved v3.6 ".default" profile folder into the same old place
~/Library/Application\ Support/Firefox/Profiles
whenever desired, and continue on, business as usual?
Thanks.

Thanks for the links. I will check them.
Though I don't really feel the need for multiple profiles (or simultaneous FF versions running). Just wanted to confirm I could swap in any already archived old FF 3.6 profile into a FF 12 install, if desired - without bothering with a test install etc. of 12 to verify.
I'm happy with 3.6.x, but am concerned security issues will no longer be addressed (as of the April 24th 2012 EOL).
Was not sure how compatible the 3.6 profile folder contents drag and drop "into" v. 12 Application Support FF folder would be. Just don't want to make my archived profiles useless.

No, the iWork apps are only available for the Mac. There are separate versions for iOS devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) that are purchased from the iTunes Store. If you have an iCloud.com account there is iWork for iCloud that runs in a web browser, including web browsers on a PC. It is currently in beta & may not be available to all iCloud users yet.

MacOffice 2011 will run on your computer. 32 bit software runs on a 64 bit computer.

  • Will iCloud work with office for mac

If i'm reading the blurb on the website correctly i can only get to see an Microsoft office word document on iCloud if i email it.
    Is this correct.
I want to use Office for Mac but be able to see and edit or finish the document on my iPad and iPhone.
    Is this possible with iCloud

There are options out there other than iCloud for
cloud storage and syncing (and also not as limited).
Dropbox is one choice.  If working with Windows
computers as well, One Drive is very good option
    (especially with Win8).

  • What is current version of Ilustrator for Mac.

I have 17.0.2 installed. I see references here of 17.1. In my user folder "Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater/1.0/Data/AdobeIllustrator17-mul/17.3" I see this.
The CC app is so screwed up you never know for sure what the current version of software is.
This morning I find a 14.2 update for PS, a 9.2 undate for ID but no update for IL.
So what is the current version version of IL.

Why can't you just post updates like you used to do instead of trying to depend on a half a$$ working app like CC.
If the updates are posted where? Give me a link.
We were receiving some requests for these, readers asking us to post the individual CC product updates (as Adobe used to do with older releases)...
So we put together two complete patch download lists ourselves with all updates for all Creative Cloud apps – here they are and hope they help:

  • Any will maker legal software available for mac

I know I am not alone in this but has anyone found any legal software for makings wills on a mac?

Good place to look for software:
    http://www.macupdate.com/
And for free alternatives to some popular software packages:
    http://alternativeto.net/
(If you see an ad there for something called MacKeeper, ignore it and on no account install it - it is malware.)
And there is of course also the App Store!

The key should work on either platform.

  • Will current versions of Firefox emulate older Firefox versions of browsers like IE8 or allow someone to open with another browser in Safari?

The compatibility function in IE8 allows me to emulate an older version of a browser when software won't work with IE8.
I can emulate a different browser when I use Safari 5. Can you do this with Firefox?

You could try the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10909/ IE Tab Plus] or the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/92382/ IE Tab 2] add-on. These add-ons do not emulate IE, but allow you to open IE inside a Firefox tab for sites that do not work in Firefox.
The main difference between the 2 versions of IE Tab is that IE Tab Plus supports the Adblock Plus add-on whilst in IE mode.

  • When will iTunes U be offered for MAC

Does anyone know if Apple plans to add itunes u to mac products?

We are all just fellow users here and have no insights into Apple's future plans for iTunes U. I've seen nothing to indicate that they plan to open it up to commercial usage, but nothing is impossible. The best way to submit comments to Apple is via their feedback pages:

  • Firefox will not play XM radio for 3 wks. Used to work. Site comes up, but no sound.

I used to play XM radio on Firefox, but now cannot get music to play. The site loads, and the stations page loads, and shows what has been selected to play, but I can fear no music. I am able to hear XM using Safari on this laptop. I am running OS 10.4.11, and that has not changed.

I installed the Media Pimp-Internet Radio add on from the main Firefox tab and XM online works again!

    Video2SWF is one...I don't recall which is best-I haven't
    figured it out.

  • Will Lion support Word X for Mac from 2001?

It's worked up till now on every OSX including Snow Leopard.  Yes I guess I could use Open Office but all my friends are PC users and my daughters use Word at school so I don't want to lose Word otherwise a £20.99 OSX suddenly becomes another £110+ just to buy the latest version of Word.  Thanks.

No, only Word 2008 or 2011 are supported on Lion. Sorry

  • My navigation bar will only remain in view for one request after using alt key

Everything worked fine for over a year on Mozilla firefox, suddenly I have no navigation or tool bar. If I press the alt key the bar appears and I am able to click on one command and then the bar disapears again. I followed the instructions online and clicked on the restore default bar, to no avail. It is a royal pain to have to alt key to open a new tab from the bookmarks everytime. If I can't figure it out I will have to stop using firefox which until now I was in love with. Please Help

After pressing Alt, in the View menu select Toolbars, then click on "Menu Bar" in the list of toolbars. That should make it permanently display.

  • IMessage: Is there anyway for me to imessage using my phone number from my Mac?

Whenever I imessage from my Mac, it shows up on the recipiant's device as my appleID, and when I contact the same person using my iPhone, the message shows up as my phone number.  The ending result is two threads of the conversation on the recipeiant's end.  I am wondering, with the new update, is it possible to use only my phone number for an imessage on my Mac and not my email address?

Nope I've been wondering that myself, but I'm afraid messages sent from your Mac will only show up as your apple ID email, while messages sent from your iPhone use a SIM card therefore will show up as digits. Think it just works that way, sorry!
