Will customers who purchased an iMac after the 1st October get a refund on iWorks which was purchased at the same time?
As the titile says. I purchased an iMac on the 4th October and added pages, keynote and numbers to the purchase. Now I find out if I didn't purchase them I would have them free anyway (and to make it more annoying I haven't even used the apps yet so have had no use out of them until this point). I know Apple gave refunds for the same situation on iOS iWorks in September.

There is an up-to-date program for those who purchased new Macs after October 1.

Since the shuffle (except for the 1st gen shuffle) uses the same "port" (the headphones jack) for sound output and charging, there is no way to do both concurrently.
NOTE: You can charge and play at the same time on the old white 1st gen shuffle that looks like a USB flash drive.

Apple keyboard is no longer paired to my imac and at the same time I noted that the keyboard on my ipad2 no longer exists. At first I thought it was an icloud issue but am wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.

I downloaded 10.8.5 Supplementary and this time there was a picture of my keyboard with the suggestion that I power it on, which I did many times. Finally re-booted my imac and shut down BlueTooth on my ipad. I now have a keyboard back on the ipad and my wireless keyboard on the imac is working.

Will mavericks be available in india at the same time as it is released in the US?

I want to update my os to mountain lion. But if mavericks will be released at the same time in India too, i would prefer to wait for 2-3 months and buy Mavericks !!. I just want to confirm.

Apple releases a new OS X at the same time everywhere, so you will be able to get OS X Mavericks at the Mac App Store the same day as in the USA. Mavericks is expected to be released in fall > http://www.apple.com/osx/preview

When I have a Safari window open and then open mail, the Mail window becomes active but the Safari window remains on the desktop. Does yours minimize to the Dock?

The link Mitch posted explains how to use an iPod with more than one computer.
Now, because you use a Mac and your Mum uses Windows complicates matter slightly.
An iPod formatted for use on a Mac cannot be used on Windows without some additional software. This is because Windows is incapable or reading the file sytem that Macs use.
However, if you were to reformat the iPod on your Mum's Windows PC, then you could use it on both Mac and Windows computers.

Will USB-6251 execute multiple tasks at the same time?

Hi all,
I have an application controling an experiment and logging data using a USB 6251. One measurement uses Two Edge Seperation , and takes a while to complete (20 to 30 seconds). Meanwhile I need to execute another task repeatedly to sense a digital input pin. Does anyone know if the USB 6251 can execute a second task while it's busy doing the edge seperation task? So far I haven't found anything in the documentation or on the forums.
BTW I can't just 'try it and see', or at least it's very tricky to do so. The control system is at the top of a scaffold tower, a long way from my development system. Every code change has to be deployed and installed to test it.
I recomend you avoid such an installation if you can ) It makes for a tough time debugging.

A small addition to YatimM's answer
You can execute two tasks together as long as they are not accessing the same channels or digital lines.
For acquisiton on analog input channels, you cannot execute 2 tasks simultaneously even if they scan for 2 seperate sets of channels
For Ex: task 1: acquiring from analog channels 0 to 3 and task2 : acquiring from analog channels 4 to 6, will still give a 'device reserved' error, because a single ADC is available and used for multiplexing all channels in a task/ scan list and the second task will give up this error

Is there an APP that will copy folders to multiple destinations at the same time?
I'm copying like 16GBs at a time.. And would like to write to 2 separate destinations at once. SPEED is very important. A verify function would be very nice...

This can be easily accomplished using Automator. Create a new Automator Files/Folders action. Steps involved are 'Get Specific Finder Items' and 'Copy Finder Items'. Save this as a Finder Application. I have a few of these just for copying to multiple destinations at once.
Copy speeds are dependent only to the buses that the drives are connected to. If the drives are all on separate buses, copy speeds will be as fast as they can be.

Using External Speakers And Internal Speakers At The Same Time

I know this is probably a long shot, but is it possible to use both the external speakers I have (the cheaper Bose ones) and the internal speakers of my Intel iMac at the same time?

Once you plug into the external headphone jack that's were your audio output for iTunes is. The exception here for me is at start-up, the sound will use the internals untill the external set-up is detected.
Something else you can do to add more to your external set-up is to split it with an adapter(s).

You can buy these adapters at most electronics outlets.

Send two signals at the same time to serial

I have a problem in that I want to control some relay boards by serial. The boards have an address byte (to determine which of the three relay boards) and a relay combination (four relays on each board). The .vi I will need to make will be sending data to the serial as a result of feedback from sensors (they are currently simply controlled by timers to simulate) so there is a good chance that there will be two relay addresses sent at the same time and consequently much confusion. The timed simulation demonstrates this possibility by switching all relays on at the start.
Is there a way of avoiding this? Any help would be much appreciated.

When you say send to multiple boards "at the same time" exactly what to you mean? On a serial port only one byte at a time can be sent. You do not specify how many bytes are sent to each board to handle the addressing, the data, and any EOT (End of Transmission) characters.
I can think of two possibilities.
1. Relays are slow. If the transmission rate is fast enough, you could send messages to all relays sequentially over the serial port but still have the appearance of simultaneous activation of the relays. If the relays switch in 10 ms and each command contains 6 bytes, sending the data at 115 kilobaud would take about 1.5 ms for three boards. This would likely be close enough to simultaneous for relays.
2. Add a command similar to the GPIB GET (Group Execute Trigger). All devices on the bus respond to this command by executing a previously stored command. No addressing is used for this command. This does require that the relay boards be modified to respond to their address and to the common or group address and to store a command for later execution.

Need to dial 5 extensions at the same time in case of emergency

Hi, our company uses Communications Manager 8.6.2 and has a requirement which I haven't been able to fill using normal methods.
We need to call 5 mobile numbers at the same time when an emergency exists at our location. Only one of the 5 called numbers has to respond to the call for help in our 3 km long, 2 kilometer wide company site.
Thought 1 line number with remote destinations would work but this doesn't seem to handle multiple mobile numbers well. Strangely, it doesn't ring all lines at the same time. It will ring max 2 mobile phones at the same time in our test. There were enough free lines on the PMX to dial out to all phones during the test period.
Doesn anyone have this situation and how did you handle it?

Hi, Thanks for the quick responce, unfortunately we dont have contact center installed. Actually we would like one DN number for these 5 people, because these people are continually moving around their respective areas, there is no physical local endpoint.
When the number is dialed it should ring out to the 5 mobile numbers, when one answers the others should stop ringing.
We could in theory install the uccx solution but this will cost some time to get up and running and at present we do not have any additional need for uccx.
