Will deleting a TV Show delete additional data, played counts and such?

In order to free up space on my HDD, which is full again, I was considering deleting some TV Shows, but I don't want to lose the play count information and such, will deleting the TV Shows do this?

Ratings, play counts, date added, last skipped, playlist membership, currently playback position, checked status and a bunch of other properties are only ever stored in the library rather than the file's tag. Program title, show name, season number and most of the other things you can edit with Get Info. are stored in the file, if the format is capable of recording the metadata.
Perhaps, when iCloud is fully rolled out, changes to this volatile metadata will get synced via your iTunes account to all your devices. I can't recall if it was demonstrated in the keynote, but I'm sure someone has proposed the idea that you could start watching a movie on your iPad, pause it, then resume later from the same point on your computer without any effort.

Part A:
I've done some restating of the question, and distributed the calculations among several fields, not all of which need to be included on the visible layout. Other than formatting the Date fields and moving the 'Completed Date' field and its label, I've left this in the default "Layout 1" produced by AppleWorks.
Field List:
Priority: Popup menu with six items: 00, J, D, 1, 2, 3 Defaults to 00
TL (time limit in months): Calculation: CHOOSE('Priority',0,1,3,4,6,12)
Received: Date. Option: Automatically insert today's date (ie. Date Record created) (may be edited)
Target Date: Calculation:
DATE(YEAR('Received')+INT(MONTH('Received')+'TL')/12,MOD(MONTH('Received')+'TL', 12),DAY('Received'))
Remaining (Days): Calculation: INT('Target Date'+1-NOW()) (see revision below)

The On Target field shows the current status of the case while still open, and the state on the closing date when it was closed.
Having done that, I was unhappy with the Remaining field continuing to calculate an ever larger negative number after the case had been closed. Hence this revision below:
Remaining: Calculation: IF('Completed','Target Date'-'Completed Date',INT('Target Date'+1-NOW()))
Shows the number of days remaining while the case is open, the days remaining at completion if the case has been marked Completed and the completion date entered.
Rsults (and some further formatting of the Layout) below.
Part B:
You will need Subsummary parts when sorted on Completed and on On Target. Fields can appear on a Layout only once, so each subsummary part will need a separate Summary type field for each field to be summarized.

Is it on file or somewhere else?

I don't know where play count is stored, but, when using list view for songs
Go to menue toolbar item 'View' - on the drop down list that appears choose 'View Options...'
In the window that opens up check the box next to Play Count
now iTunes will keep track of how many times you play each song.
But, if you follow the same menue path while movies are in list view mode, the play count option does not appear to exist for movies, although date last played is an option.
If you don't check the box in view options, I don't think iTunes will keep track of song play count. The only data from past use of any individual item iTunes can show is probably limited to that items' metadata that you can see using the 'get info' option for any selected item.

Will play count and playhead position sync back to iTunes?

I have a bunch of smart playlists that contain all the unplayed episodes of my favorite podcasts. If I drag these onto the Shuffle, will the play count and playhead position from my Shuffle sync back to iTunes?
It seems like the answer is no -- this is really a one-way copy to the Shuffle, and not a "sync".

The iPod shuffle is supposed to maintain a "played" flag for played tracks. I don't know if podcasts will work the same way as normal tracks, but I can't think of a good reason why they wouldn't. Having said that, after the iTunes 8.1 update, my shuffle's marking the wrong tracks as "played" and leaving the actually played tracks unmarked, so until the iTunes team comes up with a fix for all the bugs they introduced in that update, anything goes.

Will someone tell me what happen to my play list and how I can restore or get it back! Apparently, apple for the second time to screw up and delete all my music again!!!

VA01 creation of new feild in Additional data tab B and populating values

       I had created a new field zzordqty in VA01 item level -> additional Data Tab B SE51 -> SAPMV45A-> 8459.
      The values while creating a sales order are coming from Inbound FM Idoc_input_orders . for this particular field the value is stored in segment E1EDP35 when QUALZ is 011 the value of CUSADD is to be shown of the screen of VA01.
      For this I had tried to create a enhancement point in FM Idoc_input_orders , and tried to capture the value of CUSADD into XVAP-ZZORDQTY .
       But as soon as i come out of the enhancment point the value of XVBAP-ZZORDQTY BECOMES 0 .
       And at the screen level of SAPMV45A i had created a PBO and transfered the values from XVBAP TO VBAP .
        But since the values are getting cleared , the value of zzordqty is zero and also niether it s getting updated at table level .
        I request to let me know , how should i proceed further , either to use exists or badi's

hi,
you can do it in include MV45AOZZ. the method should be for module in PBO of subscreen 8459.
and ifyou are not able to pass it to any standard structures( like xvap, or vbap or some thing like that) you can export it from PBO or PAI module) and catch it in the save exits (user exits)

Just updated my ITunes, Plays fine, but play count and date played do not change. What is going on?

Updated I Tunes 11.0 and all plays well, just the last date played never changes and the play count remains the same no matter how many times I play the song. Not really sure where to go with this.

Sorry to hear you are having a similar problem. Last night I went to the tool bar at the top of iphoto, clicked on "File", then clicked "Browse Backups" in the drop down menu.    I have an external hard drive that is set up to Time Machine.   The Browse Backups opened the iphoto pages in the Time Machine. I selected a date one day ahead of the day I performed the now infamous update, and it showed my iphoto library as it had existed that day.   I then clicked "Restore Library" at the bottom right corner of the Time Machine screen.   Roughly 2 hours later my iphoto was back to normal.   When I opened iphoto there was a message saying I need to upgrade my program to be compatible with the new version of iphoto(version 9.2.1). I clicked "Upgrade" and within seconds it had done whatever upgrading it needed to do.
The only glitch in the restoration was that it restored the library as it appeared last week, so I no longer had photos I had imported this past weekend.   I simply went back to the Browse Backups in the drop down menu, when Time Machine opened I selected the page showing my pictures from this weekend and again said to Restore Library.   Roughly 45 minutes later the library was restored including the most recent photos.
I am now a happy camper.
I don't know if any of this will be of help to you because your email says you are having trouble with photos imported after the upgrade was performed.   Have you had any pop up notices when you first open iphoto, that tell you you need an upgrade to be compatible with the new iphoto?     If so have you clicked "upgrade"?
Good luck Liz, if you have Time Machine running as a back up to your library, maybe you wil be able to get help there, by following my instructions above.   Otherwise,   good luck with your investigations.   I'd be interested in hearing how you make out.

Gait data: step count and average waveform

I am currently evaluating DIAdem to determine if it will be usable for my task. I have human gait force/moment data to analyze. In particular, I am analyzing force data similar to force plate data. Data is anticipated to be collected over periods of days so they will be relatively large files. First, I need to segment the data according to activity (inactive, standing, walking, localized movement). I have figured out how to do this manually using flags and visual inspection. If I go forward with the software, I will want to automate this process but my current questions are regarding the analysis of the segmented data.
(1)    For the walking and localized movement segments, I want to know the number (count) of gait steps. One complete step is illustrated in the pdf between the two black solid lines. The gait movement typically has a double peak appearance but that is not always the case, sometimes it resembles a single peak. The peak search does not necessary give me what I want.
(2)    For the walking segment, I want an average gait step waveform. Take all the individual steps and display an average waveform (one complete step).
(3)    For each activity segment, I want to know the total duration for the activity. The sampling rate is not necessary constant and might fluctuate or change. Since the segmented time data references the relative time location, I haven’t been able to figure out how to represent the total time especially since the sample rate changes.
I have attached a sample of the data which includes the complete force data and manually segmented activity data. I am not experienced with VBscript writing. Suggestions/assistance with any of these tasks will be helpful or indication if any of these tasks are not feasible with DIAdem.

What you are trying to do is definitely possible with DIAdem and while it is a lot easier than it would be in other languages, it isn't necessarily simple - especially if you don't have much experience with VBscripting. I took a look at the data that you attached and you will definitely need to create an algorithm to filter out each different section of your data to create separate graphs. In order to actually create these graphs, it is probably easier to record a macro in the Scripting tab that creates a subset of data and then adds it to your report (or wherever you need it) than to write it from scratch. Then, from there, I would use the algorithm you develop to determine where to put each data point.
As far as the actual algorithm goes, I have a general idea of how you might want to do this. You could use a 'filter' (if/else if) statements that look at the following parameters to determine whether you are walking, standing, localized, or inactive.
If you are walking, it looks like you could use the frequency and amplitude of your signal to determine if you are walking (If Frequency > limit && Amp > limit2)
Next, I would check to see if you are standing by determining if the change in amplitude over a certain period of time is less than a certain amount but the amplitude is greater than a set limit. I might suggest using an offset of your localized data followed by an integral to get the area under the curve to determine the change.
To determine if you are 'inactive', I would use the same parameters as standing but you would want to look below the set limit.
Finally, any data that is not accounted for is 'localized' which appears to be more random than the other three data sets.
Of course, to do all of this you will need to take subsets of your data and scan each section x points at a time. The number of points to look at is going to vary based on the rate that you are acquiring data, how fast you expect your subjects to walk, etc. I would use something similar to this example in order to count the number of peaks from walking which would tell you the number of steps.

Media Go - iTunes Data (Play count, ratings) Import

Hello,
I'm trying to import all my ratings/play count data from my music and podcasts in iTunes to Media Go. So, for example, my 'most played music' in iTunes. For now, I only know how to import a playlist. When I do this, I lose the play count/rating data.
Is there any way to do this? I understand there is two options for connecting to iTunes - 'monitor' the iTunes folders (which I have just done, and my data does not import) or to fully import all iTunes files (which also does not seem to import data).

Sam, thanks for your help. It's a shame but at least I know for sure! I have been thinking about this and have some ideas to help fix this:
1. 'Static' playlists can be imported. This is a playlist where the contents doesn't change. For example, you have a playlist based on the soundtrack of a favourite film. You simply right click on that playlist in itunes and click export, or you drag and drop it into Media Go.
2. Ratings - I have an idea. Make playlists in iTunes with '1 star songs' '2 star songs' etc. I do this for all 5 star ratings. Now use the above method to export to drag these playlists into Media Go. When you view these songs/podcasts/other content in Media Go, highlight them all either with your mouse or by pressing CTRL+A. When you have all items selected in a playlist, edit the details and add the particular rating. So, for example I have 5 star podcasts or 5 star songs. I drag them into Media Go, highlight them in Media Go, change the details in Media Go to 5 star again and it should be complete. You may wish to to create a view in Media Go with your 5 star items, this is similar to iTunes 'Smart playlists', meaning, as you add more ratings to your songs or podcasts, they are added automatically to this View.
3. Maintaining play count. The best I can recommend to others is to drag your playlists into Media Go, for example I have 'Favourite songs' or 'Most played new music'. When you drag them into Media Go, they will not maintain their rating but if you sync this playlist to your device you should be able to access your favourite music from your last device e.g. iPod quickly. With some normal usage, you will regenerate your favourite lists. You may wish to add a new View such as 'Most Played music', as I say, the Views add content over time like iTunes smart playlists.
If anyone else has helpful ideas do add! Lets make our Xperias and Media Go our favourite devices and software!!

My Itunes will not launch. Shows up in processes, tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Itunes and quicktime. Ran CCleaner. Restarted several times.

I've tried everything I can think of to get this to work. It was working. I've tried every solution I could find on other boards.

Solved. Seems to have been an external HDD that has failed. I had some files on it that Itunes was pointed to. Didn't notice the drive had failed. Itunes seems to be working now with the drive off.

First Generation Ipod Shuffle: Play count and Last Played date

I have a 1st Gen Ipod shuffle that works great in all other respects but it doesn't track the number of "plays" or the "last play" dates. Which means I can't use the "Smart Playlists" Itunes feature to be sure that the music on it stay fresh, non-repetitive. Another problem is if I listen to a podcast on the Ipod Shuffle then in Itunes the podcast appears as though it has never played before. This gets confusing as I listen to a number of podcasts.
I have tried resetting and restoring the Ipod shuffle. Is there anything I can do to it to make it track the number of plays or last played dates?

All my tracks should be MP3s or AAC. I ripped them myselfs with iTunes. I may have bought some songs directly off of record labels or some other online music store, but I own my music legally whether I bought it on CD or got given it by magazines or record labels.
I went to the gym today. I set the shuffle to random. Some songs were synched back to iTunes but they weren't the songs I listened to, at least not all of them. Some of them may have been the songs I listened to last workout, at least one or two of the songs updated I did listen to today.
I listened to some other songs last night on my main Mac so it is easy to determine which songs iTunes updated this morning.
I haven't had much time to play with Match. It is still updating and uploading, it has 6000 songs to go. That means in a half month of trying it has managed to find and/or upload a little over 1000 songs actually close to 2000 now. It is something, but it isn't the service I was sold. All my songs and playlists were supposed to be available in the cloud. That hasn't happened and in the case of my smart playlists will never happen.
I'll read you link, but I wrote a blog posting how I was disappointed with the service so far.

IPod Shuffle 2 no longer updating playlist play count and last played date

I use my shuffle 2 in the gym. When I'm done working out I sync and the most recently played songs are rotated off using a smart play list. This is no longer working. I reset the shuffle 2, I've forced sync and auto filled many times. My latest workout it still lists all the songs I just listened to in the order I listened to them and has their last played date as many months ago.
This seems to be affecting my other iPod too, but it is tougher to diagnose. I signed up to iTunes Match and after several days that is still running but I noticed this problem long before iTunes Match became available in Canada. Both my iPod Shuffle and iTunes are up to date but my music is on an older but upgraded Mac. It has a G4 so no Lion upgrade, I just checked it is 10.5.8
