Will Discoverer Desktop work on Vista?

Are there any plans to release a new version of Oracle Discoverer Desktop that works on Windows Vista.
Thanks in advance

Hi Danko,
Even I came across Oracle and other websites reg Discoverer plus on Vista,
as of now this release doesn't support Vista yet except support for webtools like plus and viewer.
According to info from Oracle and other blogs and news, other releases of discoverer 10.1.2.3 or Discoverer 11g may support Windows Vista. may be we should be on latest release of AS10g or need to apply any patches by that time I guess, will wait and see.
As Oracle always constantly keep changing product versions, release numbers etc , we shoule be on track up to date :)

  • Will this Desktop Work For Battlefield 4

This is the Desktop im looking at >>>>> http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Refurbished+-+Refurbished+ENVY+Desktop+-+10GB+Memory+-+1TB+Hard+Dri...
Will this Desktop be able to play Battlefield 4 atleast on high settings. Because for the system specs for BF4 it says i need the Radeon 7000 series graphics card, and it looks like this desktop has it. '
So would all i need to buy is a 500 Watt power supply? Or would i need to buy a 660Ti graphics card with it?
    Please help. Thanks

    Hello Thunderbolt1096,
I'd say the processor will be fine, but you'll definitely want to get the 660 ti you mentioned. The site just mentions the 7000 series as a minimum requirement. Even on a  low to medium resolution at medium settings the 7450 will only produce around 25 FPS with plenty of dropping during high action moments.

    Alright, here's my suggested solution
    Graphics card :
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/PNY+-+GeForce+GTX+650+1GB+GDDR5+PCI+Express+3.0+Graphics+Card/6820308.p?...
    Upgraded power supply : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Cooler+Master+-+eXtreme+Power+Plus+500W/1510585.p?id=1218265778423&skuId...
I know this is a bit above the $150 mark, but really anything less than that wouldn't be worth it.
To compare, the 7450 scored 319 points on the Passmark test, where as the 650 scored 1831.
It most likely won't be able to play it maxed out on settings, but should handle the games decently on medium.
Thoughts/criticisms from others welcome, if they can find something better.

  • Adobe Photoshop 6.0 - will it work with Vista?

    Hey there -
I bought Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc in 2001 (I don't know if that is relevant or not), and have Photoshop 6.0, for example.
My laptop with Windows XP is dying very soon.  I may be forced to get a computer that has Vista.
Will my software work with Vista?
    I appreciate you help!
    Alex

I sent myself an email back when I upgraded to Vista, I just looked back and found the email. It had some links in it (which are no longer good), but there was some useful information and troubleshooting guides on there on how to get various older versions to work on Vista machines. I was thinking there was a "trick" on there about setting the date back on the computer or something while reinstalling Illustrator in order to get it to work. I have AI 10 at home as well, but I have not yet installed it on the Vista Machine as I got CS3 and use it on my XP machine just fine.
If I were you I would hold off as long as you can, like Marian said, and maybe by then CS5 will be out too.

  • Discoverer Desktop in future releases

    Hello all,
Will Discoverer Desktop be available in future releases?
    Thanks,
    Andrea

I recently requested a stand alone install of desktop software (10.1.2 and was told by Oracle support to move to Discoverer Plus as desktop was going away. I was not given a time frame of when.

  • Discoverer Desktop 11 and Oracle db 9i

Will Discoverer Desktop 11 run off Oracle db 9i?
I have copied tnsnames.ora file from 9i directory to 11, cannot connect (get ORA-12154)
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
I am not aware of any issues that would cause a TNS connection error. Check that the TNS details are correct for the new database using TNSping or SQLplus.

  • Any experience with the Discoverer Desktop on Vista

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone was using the Discoverer Desktop 10.1.2 on Vista.
Are there any specific patches required?
Did you encounter any bugs in the Discoverer Desktop when moving from Win XP to Vista?

So I found the answer to my question: if you want to use the discovere desktop don't migrate to Vista :-(
Subject: Information On Discoverer Certification With Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System
    Doc ID: Note:456426.1 Type: HOWTO
Last Revision Date: 19-SEP-2008 Status: PUBLISHED
Discoverer 4.1.37 to Discoverer 10.1.2.2 are not certified with Windows Vista. It is not recommended to install Discoverer Plus, Viewer, Desktop or Administrator 10.1.2.2 or previous versions on Windows Vista because of several internal bugs specific to Windows Vista dynamic link libraries (.dlls) and memory pointers.
Discoverer 10.1.2.2 and previous versions will not be certified with Windows Vista.
Discoverer 10.1.2.3 is currently certified with Windows Vista. But currently, we are not recommending Patchset 10.1.2.3 to customers for two primary reasons:
Due to the code freeze time-line of 10.1.2.3, there is a delta between the code corrections/enhancements in Discoverer 10.1.2.2+CP7 and 10.1.2.3. Discoverer Development is currently working on cumulative patch 1 over 10.1.2.3. This note will be updated once it is available.

  • Will Lightroom 5 work on Windows Vista Home Premium?

I could not get the LR 5 Beta version to open on Windows Vista.  I kept getting a message that an error was encountered and the program was closing.  Will the new LR 5 version work?

Vista no longer supported. Consider reading system requirements for Lightroom 5, e.g.

  • Parameter default value doesn't work in Discoverer Desktop 4i

    Hello,
I have a parameter called 'Organization' in discoverer report.
I want to set its default value to one organization from the list of values. I edited the parameter
and selected that value from the list in the Default value field. But,when I run
the report, it shows the recently used value for that parameter,
instead of showing the default value.
I have the same problem with all parametrs in workbooks in Discoverer.
    I am using Discoverer Desktop 4i (4.1.41.05.00).
Is there anything i can do to make Discoverer show me the default value for the parameter every time i run the workbook?
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks Rod!
Unfortunately it seams that seting that p[reference doesn't work for my version of Discoverer.
That option is introduced with version 4.1.43 and we are using version 4.1.41.05.
I suppose i can't solve that problem on another way in this version of Discoverer Desktop..?

I purchased Photoshop CS5 for my windows vista operating system. I purchased a canon 7 D some yrs ago no problem. I purchased canon 7D mk 11 in December 2014. The supplied software will not work with vista. Photoshop CS5 will not accept canon7D mk11. Can someone please tell me how i process canon 7D mk11 photos ?????. (is it possible to bypass camera raw and open the photo straight into CS5 without using camera raw first. if so how do i do that. if not how do i process pictures).
    Thank you.
    Brian in the UK.

Photoshop by itself cannot process raw image data. That is why the Camera Raw plug-in was developed. You could try the DNG converter and convert your images to the DNG format and then the Camera Raw that you have would be able to open them. I can't recommend Lightroom because you are using Vista, and Lightroom 5 cannot be used with that operating system. It may be time for you to get a new computer and upgrade your software.

  • Will any Creative MP3/Video Players Work With Vista Ultimate/Yahoo Music Out of the B

i've had a heck of a time getting my zen touch to work with my new vista ultimate dell pc, almost ready to give up. why i'm even thinking of getting another creative device given the above i'm not sure, but if i was, do any of the current devices (20gb or greater, mostly for music but want video capabilities) work with vista and yahoo music correctly and without a huge amount of heartache? and if not, any other devices i should look at? i really like the yahoo music service so don't want to go the apple route. thx!

iTunes is only intended for iPods and iPhones. In recent releases, Apple has instituted changes that prevent it from being used with other devices, e.g. release 8.2.1 deliberately broke the ability to sync with the Palm Pre.
Since you will be using multiple platforms, make sure that all music that your rip or purchase is in MP3 format. Then your music can be used in iTunes, Creative, or any other player or program, without conversion or compatibility problems.
Per the problem with Zen and Vista, you may wish to try the question on a Zen discussion.

  • When will iTunes work whith Vista?

The link in the sticky leads to an Apple announcement saying iTunes will work with Vista "in the next few weeks." Well, it's well over a month now and I really want my iTunes. I've been considering just saying bye bye to the music I bought but will never be able to use outside of iTunes and I think this debacle just might be the impetus I need.
Unless someone can tell me iTunes will be fixed very, very soon. (Oh, yeah, I love how Apple recommends you not upgrade your OS until they get around to fixing their jukebox!)

Apple has not made any other announcements when it may be released.
I've been considering just saying bye bye to the music I bought but will never be able to use outside of iTunes and I think this debacle just might be the impetus I need
Why would you purchase something and then look for a reason not to use it? If you don't want to use it, don't.
Why can't you use it outside of iTunes?

I don't believe there is ANYONE(except Bill GAtes) recommending you upgrade your OS at this time.
