Will downloading the final version of iOS 8 require a system restore?

I'm asking this because I have a lot of pictures and games. It's nothing personal, but it's a lot. When iOS 7 was released, this required a system memory wipe by default. Will iOS 8 require this as well? I have a feeling with how easy it's become to use technology that it won't, but I have OCD, so I need complete assurance. Does anybody know for sure?

There are no absolute guarantees in life. That goes for updating software as well. I have never ever had to do a complete restore when I did an upgrade, but I always backed up first and synced with iTunes just in case.
I have at least one dozen archived backups for my iPad. One never knows when one will need an older backup.
