Will facetime work with Verizon 4G LTE

I currently have a iPad3 with the built in Verizon 4G LTE.
Will Facetime work with this internet connection.
Am I missing something to dial this in?
I've tried to connect with my iCloud account but the connection doesn't verify or work

Apple Mail Still Will Not Work with Verizon

I've been trying to get Apple Mail to work with Verizon email for some years without success. I read the boards and find that this is not an uncommon problem. I received the new server settings for Verizon email today and eagerly plugged them in thinking this would solve my problems with receiving Verizon email, but, alas, it did not. Microsoft Outlook does a dandy job of pulling in Verizon email, but Apple Mail cannot. It's ridiculous that I should have to jump over to another email app to open one email account. All of the settings have been checked and double checked and the machine rebooted as the instructions mandate.
I don't understand what the problem is with Apple Mail and Verizon email. Apple Mail pulls in just about every other email service without flaw. Does anybody out there have any insight into this?

I am beyond frustrated with this issue. I've just spent 90 minutes on the phone with verizon support and it couldn't be fixed. I was told to call Apple. HAH! "Please call during normal business hours." Would anyone know what they are???!
I did NOT have trouble until I changed the servers, per Verizon's request. I am so happy I didn't futz aroudn with my iPad.

(1) FaceTime cannot work with iChat.

(2) You do not tell us which imac you use, so we cannot give a yes or no answer to your question about whether it is possible to use ichat *_on your mac_* to communicate with someones iPod or iPhone with facetime.
The answer to your question is yes, FaceTime is possible, but *ONLY IF* your Mac is an iNtel Mac that is using Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6.4 or later) with the FaceTime beta application software.

Will facetime work with my iCloud aliases?

Hi,
I've created a few aliases under my main iCloud email adress. I have been trying to add them to my Facetime list of emails so that I can be contacted. However, after attempting to activate my aliases from Facetime, I get an error message.
Could someone please kindly advice me on this matter?

This is my current setup:
Created new iCloud account through iPhone by selecting Setting> iCloud
Chose to create a new account with an @me.com address, let's call it [email protected]
Then I went to iCloud.com>Mail, and created a new alias. It is my only alias, let's call it [email protected]
On the iPhone:
Settings>Facetime, I type in [email protected], and it's respective password.
The next screen is a screen that displays the above email address, and displays a Next button which I press.
A checkmark is displayed and a new screen appears.
This new screen displays the FaceTime slider showing that it is on. My AppleID is displayed.
Under "You can be reached for video calls at">"Add An Email", I enter [email protected]
As soon as I press the return key, an error pops up:
FaceTime Activation
An error occurred while verifying your email.
The verification process doesn't go through. Not even when I try to 'Resend Validation Email' when I tap the Error'd [email protected] email area.

What about the contract free one? It ships with a T-Mobile SIM and is unlocked (e.g. AT&T works with no issues on 4G for me), I'm just unable to get LTE. I've noticed the "carrier" setting is missing from the Settings menus...however when I navigate to the About screen, it downloads the carrier specific updates, so based upon https://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ it should work, right?

At&t is crap in my town and T-Mobile only has 2G and I don't want a contract so if I go to Verizon and buy a phone outright would it be unlocked ?
To be specific, While Verizon is a CDMA carrier its LTE network uses GSM and as such sim cards which would be fully supported on an unlocked iPhone. However, in the event you are in area without any LTE coverage, the unlocked iPhone 6 would be unable to revert to Verizon's 3G CDMA network or anything else so the iPhone would be without any kind of service at that point.
In short if you plan on using Verizon, buy a Verizon iPhone. The GSM portion is unlocked for international carriers and you will have no issues on Verizon.

A neighbor has a late model iMac with Mountain Lion, will Facetime work if the Mac is hard wired to the internet? She tells me it used to work when she had WIFi and I'm trying to troubleshoot without spending too much time over there. So, I'm wondering if the lack of WIFI is the reason she is having trouble with Facetime/ Or should I look at other issues?

Actually, using a wired ethernet connection with the iMac is a superior way to utilize Facetime. Faster, more reliable, more secure, and you need not worry about rf interference.
I'm not too familiar with Mountain Lion, so unfortunately, I can't help with the trouble shooting any further.
I'm using Facetime on an imac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 here, and i'm using a wired connection to the internet. It seems to me that Mountain Lion users do have more problems with FT than SL users -- don't know why. Just a guess, but to me it seems that the problem may be related to some sort of "setting" involved with the Mountain Lion network choices. Sorry I can't offer anything substantial to you, but wanted to let you know that your on a good track with the wired connection.

Hi, I recently bought an unlocked t mobile iPhone 5, but I have Verizon. Will the phone still work with verizon? And if so, what do I have to do to get it working?

To be completely sure, here are the different models of iphone 5:
Model number on the back cover:
A1428: iPhone 5 (GSM model)
A1429: iPhone 5 (GSM and CDMA model)
A1442: iPhone 5 (CDMA model, China)

So seeing as your iphone was a TMobile device, which would mean it has to be GSM capable, this phone is either an A1428 or A1429. If it is the A1429, that means it also will support CDMA, so you should be good to go on Verizon. If it is the A1428, not so much.
So yeah, just take a look at the back of your phone, and you shall find the answers you seek.

If I bought a ipad1 3g in China, will it work with American 3g?

I got a ipad as a gift that was bought in China. I'm going to states after this month and will be staying there. Will it work with say AT&T or Verizon dataplans? I read about how the Chinese has a different government backed wifi and China unicom was the only one that supports the American Ipad but I dunno if it'll effect me.

It should be fine with AT&T - you'll just need a sim card when you get to the States

I wasn't trying to access the internet. I was trying to back up I cloud. It said it would back up when connected to Wi-Fi. Also it will not down load software updates.

My work computer runs Outlook 2003, which I know will not work with the iCloud, so I hard sync. But then the new info on my iPhone does not backup to iCloud. Is there a solution?

I have a Macbook and iPhone and like to back up to iCloud. However, my work computer runs Outlook 2003, which I know will not work with the iCloud. The company has no plans to update anytime soon. Since the calendar and contact list on my office computer are my primay ones, I hard sync through iTunes. The problem is that any data synced from Outlook 2003 to the iPhone from iTunes does NOT later backup to iCloud. Is there a solution?

I have the same problem with Outlook 2003 and Win XP which the multinational organisation I work for standardises on and will probably stay with forever!
