Will Firefox run on VISTA 64?

I am having problems installing Firefox 6. A question came to mind IF Firefox6 will run in VISTA 64?

Yes, Firefox 6 runs on Vista 32 or Vista 64. Firefox itself is a 32-bit application.

Given that version 8 is not classed as being Vista
compatible, earlier
versions are unlikely to be.
In terms of which Vista version it all depends upon what you
want to use the
box for.

ITunes latest up-date will not run on Vista 64 bit system

Downloaded and installed latest iTunes version Friday 21/1/14 but program would not run. Error message 'MSVCR80.Dll is missing. Repeat download.' Repeated downloads give the same message. Tried to uninstall and reload my original iTunes download from 2011 but that now gives the same error message. I'm running 64 bit Vista. Does anyone have a suggestion???

System Restore will not run on Vista Home Premium

I cannot get system restore to run on my T61 using Vista Home Premium I get messages like:
"The Restore point could not be created for the following reason: The writer experienced a transient error. If the backup process is retried the error may not reoccur". It did.
I also get "Rescue and Recovery Backup Service stopped working and was closed. A problem caused the applicaion to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available." It did not.
I have also been advised no restore points are available.
The net effect is I cannot use System Restore at all!
Has anyone else had a problem like this with system restore? Lenovo has been no help.I have had a number of Dell computers and this is my first (and last) Lenovo. When it was quite new and the problem occurred , I contacted them but they just blew me off..

So i assume that your T61 originally came with Vista Home premium installed??? Did you make the Recovery Media disks when you first got your machine??? If not call Lenovo up and obtain those disks, and then use them to reinstall your service partition and your OS.

Still will not run on Vista using Forum suggestions

I tried the suggestions posted in the support forum but the NI design suite 10 still not running in my computer with Microsoft Vista OS. I remove and re-install the software by following NI engineers removal process sent via email and still not working. This is the error shown in the display -" NI Design Suite 10.0 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working properly. Window will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."- Junt

I'm just checking to see if you were able to solve your problem? If you are still experiencing difficulty, some additional information would be helpful.
What version of Windows Vista are you running (eg. Home Basic)?
What language is your operating system?
What is your user name?
Does the error occur during startup, or sometime afterward?
If the error occurs during startup, do you get any other errors. For example, any errors about loading plugins? Can you see on the splash screen if Multisim has stopped after while loading a particular plugin?

How do I get rid of Astromenda.in Firefox run in Vista Home Premium

I got a message I thought was from Mozilla Firefox saying I have to update Adobe Flash Player. I did and ended up with Astromenda.
I went to control panel/programs and Features, found Astromenda, and uninstalled it. I then adjusted my options for my Firefox homepage and got rid of Astromenda on the open of Firefox. However, if I hit the "+" on the tab for a new tab I get a Astromenda search tab. I went to "searchplugins" in the Firefox profile and found Astromenda.xml and replaced with safesearch.xml. Didn't help, Astromenda is still there when I add a new tab.
I go to the web and found websites on how to get rid of Astromenda but they want me to download various adware cleanup tools but I am reluctant to download anything at this point unless it is sanctioned by Mozilla Firefox.

The one final step I did not do was the easiest, open Firefox menu, select "Add-ons", click on "Extensions", find "Astromenda", and then click on "Remove."
Problem solved.
PS: I read other blogs that claimed after remove all traces of Astromenda there regular search engine did not act the same... no such problem for me, Google search is acting completely normal.

I would not recommend Firefox to Windows 95 users, the last version that was officially supported on Windows 95 was Firefox 1.5.0.12

Java 6 update 3 not running with Vista

Previously I have had not problems with getting Java applets to work, but I just got a new computer with a Vista operating system and I cannot get any applets to work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the lastest JRE from Java's website many times. I also went through their help and made sure the configureations matched that of IE7 which I am using. I have tried older version and even update 4, but I cannot even get the java test machine to work. There is just a red X that eventually shows up after a long wait. Currently, I have update JRE 6 update 4. I have not made any major changes to my computer as it is only a few days old, so I figure that it must be something that is not compatible with Vista. Below is what my Java Console reads after it fails to run when I test my VM on Java's website at http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml :

I have a similar post on this subject goto "gordon freeman" java 1.6.0_06 will not run in Vista.
On my system there is a workaround if you open control panel/user accounts, then turn user account control on or off, untick user acccount control and restart the machine then goto website www.javatester.com to test if appelets run! I leave user account control on until I have to goto java website and then disable visit site and then renable this requires 2 restarts everytime I visit a java site. The problem is some sort of permissions issue created by either corruption of the registry by remnants of previous versions or configurations of previous versions it goint ot take me years to work it out. None of the turkeys at Sun have got any idea how to fix this I now am working with Microsoft in an effort to have this problem fixed!

Yes it does (though not in the new Metro UI). There may be a few minor bugs, but they are being fixed as quickly as possible.

ITunes won't run in Vista

After a new install of the latest download, iTunes will not run in Vista Ultimate. I don't get any error messages, just a notice that "iTunes encountered a problem and will close."
The same download works fine in XP (dual boot system).
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and downloading again, with no luck.
Any help is greatly appreciated,

iTunes also dies for me about every-other time I try to open it with my ipod attached (version 7.2.0.34). I'll install the newer version and see if that helps. It also still blue screens about every third time I try to sync, though its admittedly better that 7.1.
If I open quicktime the win-host process for aero interface dies, everytime. And if I leave it open, it blue screens. I can't watch any videos in iTunes or QT. It starts out playing with very poor video refresh, but eventually blue screens, everytime.
I have an Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT (which I love) and an ASUS P5NSLI motherboard, FYI.
I hope this info is helpful. I'm getting realy frustrated, since iTunes/QT is the only app I'm still having trouble with in Vista. Everything else work great--really, hard to beleive I know!

After intallation was completed, the automatic startup just placed a small box on the screen "Import wiz". This just sat there with no activity. After I closed this box, none of the Firefox start buttons would open the program -- just the blue rotating icon for about 2 seconds then nothing.

I was running Firefox fine just yesterday. I screwed up the registry a litle while removing an installed program completely, so I restored the system and everything appeared to work fine. I then decided to play an old video game, Return to Krondor, which was made back in 1998, so I ran the program with no other programs running in compatibility for windows 98. After finishing the game, I closed it and put the computer in hibernation mode. I come back today and firefox will not run at all. It is not running in the background and there are no programs running. There are no services running which could interfere with it. I think somehow Firefox may think I'm in compatibility mode still, but I have no idea.
