Will firefox still support flash content when my phone updates to 4.1 (jellybean)?

Does Firefox use it's own flash plugin or will it be disabled when my phone updates?

Generally, no. The problem is not with Firefox. It is an Adobe decision. Read Adobe's statement below
*Adobe's statement --> https://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/06/flash-player-and-android-update.html
**Quote from Adobe statement above: ''If a device is upgraded from Android 4.0 to Android 4.1, the current version of Flash Player may exhibit unpredictable behavior, as it is not certified for use with Android 4.1. Future updates to Flash Player will not work. We recommend uninstalling Flash Player on devices which have been upgraded to Android 4.1.''

  • When will Firefox have Adobe Flash for Android cell phones?

My website requires Adobe Flash Player to be installed to view images in my photo gallery. Why doesn't Mozilla Firefox support Adobe Flash Player? Will it be available in the very near future? This is an extremely important feature for my site.

Firefox can use Flash if it is on your device, although this may not always work perfectly. But Firefox never comes with Flash bundled in (I think this is due to Firefox using an open source software license).
This article has a link for installing Flash from Adobe's site: [[How do I watch Flash videos with Firefox for Android?]].
Regarding the design of your gallery, how does it work on Apple iOS devices that can't run Flash due to Apple policies? Maybe there's a similar "fallback" technique that can work on Firefox for Android if the user hasn't installed Flash.

  • Help support iphone in supporting flash content plzzz.

Please post a note of support for iphone to support flash content.
We as iphone users are missing out on internet content that we want to utilize but for some reason iphone will not either 1. Create a workaround or two payoff whoever needs to be paid off. Please show support for flash to b utilized by iphone either thru app development or full browser integration by posting support below.
Who knows maybe someone reads these things who can accomplish this????
Not supporting flash is dumb and makes the internet less enjoyable on an iphone.

It is bloated, slows down page loading, uses up a lot of bandwidth for no benefit that could not have been done just as easily using DHTML or other web standards. And it has had several serious virus vulnerabilities in the past couple of years. Although a lot of my ire is directed towards sites that use it on the home page and that won't work without it.

  • Will Firefox 4 support autoconfig (aka Mission Control)?

I am interested in configuring Firefox for users and locking down certain settings. It appears that the folder referenced in http://mit.edu/~firefox/www/maintainers/autoconfig.html is not present on the Firefox 4 Beta install.
Will Firefox 4 support autoconfig, and if so will updated documentation be posted for that when Firefox 4.0 is released?

  • On start up, my PC gives me an error APSDaemon.exe and my iTunes will not launch...is there a fix and if I remove and reinstall my iTunes, will I still have my content?

May I get some insight, My PC (i know thats part of the problem but help if you can anyway) gives the APSDaemon.exe error wessage and will not allow my iTunes to open...if I delete and reinstall, will I still have my content as it may be an iCloud issue as well??? I'm not sure and appreciate the assistance.

Under normal circumstances, an uninstall/reinstall doesn't touch your content. (That being said, it's still always a good idea to maintain a current backup at all times in case of disasters of any sort.)

  • With the current up coming addition of Maverick will Apple still support and put out Updates for Mountain Lion?

With the current up coming addition of Maverick OS will Apple still support and put out Updates out for Mountain Lion? I want to make sure my computer will still be secured.

I'm sure that Apple will continue to provide support for Mountain Lion and other previous versions of their operating system. They have always provided updates for most versions of their software, even though newer versions were released.

  • Will Firefox Home allow Flash Player content on my iPad 2?

Apple and Adobe are not friends and, as a result, Safari will not allow the download of another browser; ie: Firefox which has Flash Player required by a great deal of media content. Can Firefox with Flash Player slip in the back door on Apple?

Firefox Home is not a web browser but a iOS app that allows you to sync with your desktop Firefox bookmarks, browsing history, and tabs. http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/home/
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms
    iPhone/iPad/iPod
We have no plans to release the full Firefox browser for iOS. The iOS SDK agreement requires apps to use Apple's own JavaScript engine (or none at all, like Opera Mini which downloads pre-rendered pages from Opera's servers and cannot run JavaScript code in the client). Because of this, we have no supported way to distribute Firefox's rendering and JavaScript engine to iPhone users.
However, you can download Firefox Home for iPhone (can work on iPad), an iOS app that uses Firefox Sync to deliver Firefox bookmarks, browsing history, and tabs to your iPhone or iPod Touch.

  • Is it true that Firefox v11 will fully suport Adobe Flash and when are you going to make a mobil version of Thunderbird.

I going purchase an HTC Merge soon and would like to know if Firefox v11 will fully support Adobe Flash and if I decide to use v10 right now would this method work https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-mobile-doesnt-support-flash?e=es&as=aaq if I wanted to watch flash videos on lets say on Vimeo's website also are there any plans for a Mobil version of Thunderbird? I'm a avid user of Thundrbird and would love to have on my Android phone.

Thanks that's what I thought I heard but wanted to make certain that it was true and its also nice to know that FFv10 works on Vimeo one last thing I did make a post about Mobil Thunderbird on the official TB support forums if you or anyone you know also would like to see TB for Mobile Devices go to my post.

By the way I also heard that FFv11 or v12 will have its own speed dial if so will it be like Josep del Rio's speed dial extension by that I mean were its fully customizable for example you could add new groups or decide how many rows/columns you want to have.

  • When will Firefox 7 support websockets (like Safari and Chrome)?

A test query to websockets.org echo test gets the result: "...the browser doesn't have native support for WebSocket". The same test using Safari or Chrome on a Mac results in: "This browser supports WebSocket". Same problem whether on OS X 10.6 or 10.7. When will Firefox 7 catch up to Safari and Chrome?

In Firefox you need to use MozWebSocket.

  • Why does Firefox not support flash in Vista any more?

I have a laptop with Vista on it and all year long I have had a hell of a time putting up with the new glitches in Firefox.
I simply want the damn thing to be able to use the flash plugin. Every single ******* time Firefox updates, I lose the ability to view flash content. Clicking on the "install missing plugins" logo takes me through *seemingly* successful installs, but it doesn't really install and the next time I load firefox it still says "click here to install missing plugin."
I have also downloaded the executable from adobe and run that (as an administrator, with firefox closed out) and I still get a *successful* installation that results in total failure, e.g. it's still not installed.
Several firefoxes ago I found a website where I could download the two files needed (the dll and the other file) and I manually placed them in the plugins folder which allowed me to use flash until the damn update to the next firefox release wiped it out. The place I downloaded those files from no longer hosts them, so I'm SOL.
Please either start to support Vista again, or declare that you aren't going to. I'm sick and tired of firefox nowadays, even though I've been using it since before version 1.1.
Please, please, please just fix this problem.

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash; an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only and a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox. On a Windows system, you should always update both individually. '''''You do not have the Plugin version installed in Firefox; if you did, you would see "Shockwave Flash (version)" in Add-ons > Plugins.'''''
#'''Using Firefox''', go to the following direct download link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.
#Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

<u>NOTE: You no longer need to place Flash components in the Mozilla Firefox\plugins folder. Doing so, will leave you with an outdated plugin and a possible conflict between competing versions of the Plugin.</u> Most current plugins are recognized by/installed into Firefox through Windows registry entries. In a clean installation of current Firefox versions, the plugins folder is no longer created in the Mozilla Firefox program application folder. However, the folder can be created and any plugins placed there will be used. It is best not to have the plugins folder unless absolutely necessary to make a particular plugin work.
You can get both versions on the following page, but there is no link directly to it. Click on item ''6. Download and install Adobe Flash Player (Firefox)'' near the top of the page, then scroll down to "Advanced Troubleshooting" just following the Firefox information; the links are in item 1 under that heading:

  • Firefox segfaults with Flash content. x64. [Solved]

I'm running 64 bit Arch version 2010.05 and I installed flashplugin. When I navigate to a Flash website Firefox segfaults. It also happens on other pages such as Gmail. Chromium doesn't segfaults with Flash or any other page but Flash doesn't work either. If I uninstall Flash Firefox doesn't segfaults anymore, even on pages that don't use Flash. Any ideas?
Update: I downloaded the 10.1 64 bit alpha from Adobe but it still doesn't work. Chrome doesn't report any problem on the console but Flash doesn't work and Firefox still segfaults.
    Thanks in Advance.

I installed 32 bit Flash using nspluginwrapper. Everywhere I read it says that the flashplugin package should install a working 64 bit plugin but it doesn't work. Firefox segfaults with this plugin and Chrome doesn't show any flash and complains about an ELF32 binary.
sand_man: Can you please post your libflashplayer.so so I can try it? Thanks! At least your md5sum to compare.
EDIT: Chrome doesn't complain anymore but still doesn't show any flash. Firefox still segfaults.

  • Why is Firefox still disabling Flash

Why, with the latest version of Mac Firefox (16) and the latest version of Flash (11.4.402.287) it the browser STILL disabling Flash "due to security or stability issues"? I have no such issues on Firefox on a PC or Safari on my Mac.

Try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder and maybe addons.sqlite as well to reset the plugin registry databases.

  • Will apple ever support flash?

    will thats basically it

Just to clarify - Apple do support Flash - under OSX on their computers.  There is no version of Flash to support under iOS, and Adobe have stated quite clearly there never will be.
