Dear friends,
I am running a job site named jobslamp.com [link removed]. I did not use any flash animations here . I have used only css designs. Now I would like to improve the look and feel of the site by replacing the top right image with an animated banner. My doubts are
1) Which is the best technology/ proudt to do this ( I have only used photoshop before from adobe brands)
2) Will it affect SEO ?
3) Will it affect the site performance (loading time).
I would like to make it professional, animated.
I am looking for valuable suggestions from your end .

Including Flash content in a CSS/html-based web site is not going to negatively affect your SEO potential. It might affect your user base potential if you expect a good share of your market to be mobile/i-Folk which do not support Flash content. But even in those cases, you can provide for alternative content in the event a Flash player is not detected.
The primary case of when Flash and SEO can have a difficult relationship is when a site involves pure Flash content. But this is usually never the case since most any Flash website is embedded into an html page, and in such cases measures can be taken to still include SEO features.
As far as affecting site performance in terms of loading time, in general, Flash content is often the most efficient form of web content. The things that will make Flash a loading burden are the same things you would incorporate without Flash... images, video, sound. Flash by itself is not the burden, only what you choose to display with it, and how you choose to display it.

Applications do not affect data or preferences.
But it sounds like the restore of your new hard drive brought along problems and errors from before, when the old drive "died" it probably just needed software repair and maintenance unless the drive's structure, the sectors that data reside on, had a few bad or weak sector blocks.
What are you doing for backups? maintenance? Mountain Lion Recovery for instance?
You need to start addressing the WHY and repair the disk drive directory, and the best medicine is not that bad or hard: backups, a clean install (save the Mountain Lion installer to flash drive), and then import using Setup Assistant.
And keep more than one backup set - so you have a 2nd set off line at any time.
Clone. Carbon Copy Cloner makes an exact bootable copy of partitions and under advanced setting, will do a checksum of each and every file to insure its integrity.
It is unlikely uninstall of the app is the issue. As long as everything is current, compatible, and you didn't install or keep older programs and 3rd party extensions and utilties interferring with Mac behavior and STABILTY.

Is flash player SEO friendly?

Hi everyone
I know there is much debate on this issue and several discussions, but most are kind of outdated.
What worries me is that nearly every online seo check engine is reporting flash objects (the use of flash in general) as an issue that has to be fixed.
I checked several of them (online seo check, woorank, seo analytics etc etc) free and paid (trial versions) with the same results.
The website we are working on (inthessaloniki.com) is not a flash-heavy website, yet there are key flash elements that cannot be removed.
Does this affects seo in a negative way, on the current google algorithm?
Is there any solution on this that is not technically (too) demanding? Links, ideas, all is welcomed!
(ps: I know this is not a very sophisticated, specific question. Iam trying to learn seo basics as we speak )

Can I have iTunes music on my SSD and an external drive? How will this affect syncing to iOS devices?

I don't have space to keep my entire iTunes library on my SSD. Currently I have my iTunes library split as follows:
SSD: Contains a subset of music, apps, books, etc. New items usually get added here.
External HD: Contains all of my music and iTunes media (including apps... so many apps). It's usually missing the most recent items added, due to the fact I don't plug it in so often.
I ran into a problem maintaining these two libraries earlier while syncing my iPhone. When I tried to sync the iPhone with the SSD library, it would delete apps off of my phone because they weren't contained in the iTunes library there, even though I had the same base .itl file for both the SSD and the external libraries.
What I want to do is set it up so that I maintain a core of music on my SSD and the stuff I don't listen to as often on my external hard drive. I also want to keep all the space hogs (movies, apps, etc) on the external as well. However, I want this to appear as one seamless iTunes library and I DON'T EVER WANT ANYTHING DELETED FROM MY PHONE WHEN I SYNC IT. I want to be able to sync my phone without worrying that apps will be deleted and I'll have to restore them from iCloud and reset all the settings, sign in, etc. Right now I am backing up to iCloud, but my understanding is that iTunes will still delete things from my phone if they are not available in the library.
My question: How do I accomplish this? I have a lot of metadata in my iTunes library that I don't want to lose (playcounts, ratings, etc).
I currently have this:   SSD: .itl file pointing to music on the SSD, a mixture of iTunes media (some that I want easily accessible, some I don't)
                                  External drive: .itl file pointing to music on the external drive, all of my iTunes media (except for anything I may have added to the SSD)
I think I need this:       SSD: .itl file pointing to music on the SSD and the external, music that I listen to often
                                 External drive: music that I don't listen to often, things that take up a lot of space
My thought process is that I will need to somehow move music from the external to the SSD while maintaining the pointers so that iTunes knows where they are. For this I have unchecked "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" and "Copy Files to iTunes Media Folder When Adding To Library," and to maintain the pointers and move the songs, I'm thinking of using Doug's Applescripts for "Relocate Selected:" http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=relocateselected
Once I have the songs split across these drives, I'm going to copy the .itl file from the external to the SSD and boot it up to see if it works.
Two things: 1.) Will this approach work? Can I maintain my library across separate drives this way and have it be seamless? I understand I won't be able to access the media on my external hard drive when it is not plugged in (duh), but...
2.) Will it affect syncing? When my external isn't plugged in, will iTunes try and delete things from my iPhone? It should still be able to "see" them, it just won't be able to access them. Will I have to turn off syncing apps while syncing with my external device unplugged?

You'll need to get it all onto one iTunes collection on your Mac Pro, then sync the devices to that. iTunes only lets you transfer purchases from a device, otherwise you have to use third party software.
I guess you could also look into getting iTunes Match.

I know accounts cannot be merged. The @gmail account has existed for years before the @me account.
I haven't been able to set up my phone yet because I have absolutely no idea how this will affect me, when it was quite clear before.
How will this affect me in the future? What about when my @me service expires (I had just under a free year left)? What email should I link? What should I be worried about if kept separate or the same as they are now?
I still don't even understand what exactly iCloud does yet. If I set up my phone with whatever my iCloud account is, is it locked in? Since no credit card info or applications or purchases are associated with it, it will be of no use in that area.

   1) your additional 20gb are available only up to next summer
    2) the migrated account will be downgraded to a free account then.
    3) the purchased music and apps do NOT count in the 5 gb.
So, I don't know what you need the 20 gb in the "unused AppStore account" for. Your documents and emails are all on the 25 gb account.
I think, you can log into your non-me.com AppleID and change your e-mail address there without loosing what you purchased. So, I wonder what would happen if I put the me.com address there...

Regarding the me.com AppleID, you should make sure you have a secondary email account added there, otherwise it might be difficult to recover that account in case you cannot read the me.com email anymore. Interestingly, when I tried to put my non-me.com address there, it complained about that email already used by a different account. So, I guess if you try to put your gmail account there it will complain. So, you probably need a third independant email account....

There is nothing wrong with your Dell, it will work fine with any MacbookPro. I have been using Dell displays for over 12 years with many different Mac models. I have two 21" Ultra Sharp displays working side by side to design a Keynote presentation right now.
The issue your having is with the way Keynote takes control of the video output to both displays, it sends the presentation signal to one and the presenter display to the other, this is set up in;
Keynote preferences > Presenter display.
If you want to show a wesite or another app on either display, use application switcher:
press the the command key on the keyboard, then the tab key; a row of applications will show what applications are running, choose which one you want to show. Use command > tab to return to Keynote.

her contacts are connected directly with the Google Server so as long as they are saved to her Gmail account she should be 100% fine.. the only contacts she may lose are the ones that she added directly onto the phone and did not sync to her Gmail account.. so you should just double check with her on that

When trying to save a bookmark to a specific pre-established folder the window disappears and will not allow me to make a selection. If I hover in the area it will flash on the screen and disappear again, it's annoying please help!

When I attempt to save a new bookmark and want to save it in a folder the window that typically appears just below the address bar will not stay on the screen. It flashes on the screen and as soon as I move my cursor over it, it disappears. It will not allow me to make a selection of any kind. If I randomly hover over the general area the window will flash back in view but disappear again just as quickly. If I then show all my bookmarks, the bookmark was saved and I have to move it to the folder I actually want it in. Just a few extra steps, but still very annoying. Please help!

Give transaction code and in menu(system- status), double click onthe Program name.

No. Only those Apps that are not installed on the new will migrate over.

there was a recent software update that seemed to screw HDV up. Do some searching here over the last month or 2 and you'll find a bunch of posts and some possible solutions.
Worst case scenario, do as Shane suggests. But might I suggest you take a look at the user tips section of the forum. there are some great tips on how to prevent these sorts of problems by cloning your startup drive, etc.

No, just uninstall the MobileMe control panel. All Mobileme services have been discontinued, so the control panel is not doing you any good being in there at present.

You have to delete the iCloud account but you can keep all your data such as Contacts, Calendars etc. when you delete the account you will prompted to "Keep on my iPhone".
All your purchased content (like apps and music from iTunes Store) belongs to the original ID and you have to re-Purchase them under your Apple ID.
Photos in Camera Roll remains in Camera Roll.
Photos in photo stream that are not in Camera Roll must be saved in Camera Roll.
Photo that previously synced from iTunes remains in photo library until you synced with another iTunes library (another computer).
Also sign out from iMessages, FaceTime and Home sharing (Settings>Music)
