And what exactly is that supposed to mean? What file are you trying to convert using what product exactly on what system? You need to provide a lot more information.

If it is a 64-bit system, your install process is to upgrade to AA XI. If it is a 32-bit system, then you should be able to install it. However, you will have to change the printer port in the Adobe PDF printer properties to File rather than Adobe PDF to Desktop\*.* or what ever. When you create PDFs you will have to use a 2 step process -- print the file (will have a PRN extension though it is a PS file) and then open the file in Distiller to create a PDF. With Acrobat 6, you should even be able to use PDF Maker (unless you are upgrading OFFICE also and then you would have to upgrade to AA XI for it), but again you will have to open the file in Distiller to create the PDF.
There will likely be other things that will go wrong, but that would have to be dealt with to see if there is a workaround. MS has been changing the guts of their operating system so fast, they are making previous programs obsolete. Keep in mind that AA 6 is five versions back from the current.
I am suggesting this approach since I was successful in an experiment of installing AA5 on Win7, 32-bit. Now I have AA XI on that machine. As I said it was just an experiment.

Part of the problem in helping is likely that there is no program Adobe -- that is the company name. You are in the Acrobat forum, but it sounds like you have subscribed to Export PDF or such, a different program. The subscription to Acrobat is currently $19.99 per month.

  • Just downloaded adobe XI trial and can not convert pdf to word, says trial is period over

just downloaded adobe XI trial and can not convert pdf to word, says trial is period over. what can i do

For some reason this seems to happen to some. It may be that you have a date issue on the machine and Acrobat noted it. By the way, Adobe is the name of the company, not a product.
I have no idea how Adobe sets and tracks the trial information. It may be there is something else that has caused an issue and Acrobat thinks you have already had the trial on the system and uninstalled it. As far as I know, there is nothing you can do. You might be able to check with sales to see if there is a work-around, but users can do nothing to help you.
Sorry, hope you can find a way to test the product. It might also be related to the version of Windows that you did not state.

I had a free trial of Adobe CC on my mac at home, which I since uninstalled
.  Later, I purchased on the PC I use at work with a Different email address than home. I have not been able to install at home.  When I log in the email address is preprinted and I cannot change it to the other one that I used when I made the purchase. Also the time for the email that was sent when I joined has expired. I tried changing the email and password at home and have only been able to get access to another free trial.

If you are facing issue with changing the email address your Home mac computer, then you may try below steps once.
Click Gear icon on the top Right corner and Quit Creative Cloud App
Click on Finder and then hold Command + Shift + G keys on your keypad
It will open Go to folder window, type  exactly ~/Library and click on Go
Then open Application Support > Adobe > OOBE folders
    Delete opm.db file.
Then relaunch Creative Cloud App and check if you are sign in page.

  • I have downloaded the 30 day free trial using Adobe Download Assistant but I do not know how to open it and start using it.

I have downloaded the 30 day free trial using Adobe Download Assistant but I do not know how to open it and start using it.

This was so annoying!! It took me a good couple of hours but i figured it out, you need to do the following: Go to the folder where you saved the download (in my case i saved it in My Downloads) -> click on 'Adobe Photoshop Elements 12' -> click on 'PSE 12' -> click on 'Setup' (select the icon which is a box with a shield) -> follow instructions and....voila! You will need to restart when it suggests so save anything else first, then when it reboots you should see the icon on your desktop....hpe this helps!

  • Is it no longer possible to convert pdf file to Word free in Reader X (and later)?

I really don't want to have to pay a subscription fee to be able to convert pdf files to Word documents.  In my work, this need comes up frequently with scanned & emailed documents, but since upgrading it appears that it is no longer a free feature.  Thanks.

If it worked before but doesn't work after you "upgraded" then, you upgraded the wrong thing.
You "may" have had Adobe Acrobat before but now you have Adobe Reader which cannot do what you want.
Look around in your program files. Reader should not have removed Acrobat if that's indeed what you were using.

Assistanttolindsey the Adobe Download Assistant will download the installation files for Adobe Acrobat Professional XI.  By default they are saved to your download folder.  You can begin the installation process from there.

I had a free trial of Lightroom 5 and tried to purchase it, but page errors blocked me from being able to do this. I then got a free trial of Adobe CC.  At first I saw my old photos, then the whole thing went down, and now I have a new Lightroom 5 trial, and none of my edited photos.  Can I retrieve all these photos from my first trial?

Yes, you have to find the catalog file from the CC trial (use your operating system to search for it, the file name ends with .LRCAT), and then once you find it, open the LR5 trial and open the catalog you just found using File->Open Catalog
