Will Hotmail work with Mail on 3GS?
Hi,
I've had the 1st Gen iPhone from launch and have been signed up for IzyMail for the last 2 years to make Hotmail sync with the Mail App. I read a while back that Hotmail now works with the Mail App without the need for any subscriptions but I carried on using IzyMail since i'd already paid for it.
I've just cancelled my IzyMail subscription and would like to know if Hotmail will indeed work with the Mail App or will I need to look for yet another host? The Izymail subscription will not end until mid June and I am planning on upgrading to the new iPhone 3GS.
Will I be faced with any problems when initially setting up my new iPhone?
Got it all sorted. Deleted my IzyMail settings and set up Hotmail using some in & out server addresses that I found via Google.

Can't sign in using any 3rd party email client with my iCloud account on any Mac or any other Mac. My iCloud will only work with Mail.app. All the clients I tried work perfectly well as long as I sign in with somebody else's iCloud account. But mine won't work no matter the client (Postbox, Unibox, Airmail...) and no matter the computer.
I can access my account on iCloud.com, but I can't use email clients without getting error messages prompting me to check my password or login.
I was able to use those clients in the past but a couple of months ago I got logged out of Airmail and the issue started just like that!
I tried every possible mail server settings including the following:
IMAP information for the incoming mail server
Server name: imap.mail.me.com
SSL Required: Yes
If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS instead.
Port: 993
Username: The name part of your iCloud email address (for example, emilyparker, not [email protected])
Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP information for the outgoing mail server
Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
SSL Required: Yes
If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS instead.
Port: 587
SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
Username: Your full iCloud email address (for example, [email protected], not emilyparker)
Password: Your iCloud passwordThose are the correct settings, and they work with any email client that supports Imap.
Try again. -

My old e-mail address was SHAW XXXXX.and worked very well with Thunder Bird mail. I recently switched to new ISP Bell and my new address is XXXXXX However with several attempts with techs ,Thunder Bird will not work with my new ISP. I had to start using Outlook.com and Outlook Express 6 for e-mail,but I really liked Thunder Bird and have numerous e-mails stored in it that I cannot import.
Outlook Express 6 is outdated and because I am running Windows XP it will not give me a newer version.I find Outlook.com confusing to me. Can you helpWhy don't you tell us what you did and why it didn't work? Start from File/New/Existing Mail Account, enter your details, click Continue, then immediately click Manual config. On the next screen enter these settings:
incoming POP server: pophm.sympatico.ca
port: 995
Connection security: SSL/TLS
Authentication: Normal password
User name: your full email address
outgoing SMTP server: smtphm.sympatico.ca
port: 587 (or try 25)
Connection security: STARTTLS
Authentication: Normal password
User name: your full email address

What happens to the IMAP relay, will we lesser Mac mortals get mail through the Mail application still?
In addition to Roger Wilmut1's excellent advice regarding iCloud Mail you can use Soho Organizer on Leopard for iCloud contacts and calendars as well. Soho Organizer will subscribe to iCloud giving you access to contacts, calendars and tasks, unfortunately it's $99.00, but it works extremely well. (good enough to justify the $99 even if you have Lion) -
My wife and I have separate Ids but all our music is in one library. How will this work with iCloud? i'm trying to download past purchases from her id, but itunes is saying that I can't because the computer is associated with my apple id. Can I associate the computer with both ids for the purpose of identifying all of our music with both or just one of our ids? Is there a good way to do this? I'm sure we're not the only people with this problem...
Using 2 iphone 3gs, ipad, mac mini, appletv, itunes for windows, macbook, and imac.iTunes- How to share music between different user accounts on a single computer
You cannot merge two separate libraries across user accounts. Photos does not have the function of merging different Photos.library files. If you have Aperture then you can merge the two before migrating over to Photos. -
Getting self-signed certificates working with mail
Hi all,
I am having trouble getting email certificates created with keychain access to work in mail.
According to the Leopard help file, you simply have to go to Keychain access and create the certificate, which I did. After that if you create a message in mail with that account, there should be an icon showing that the message will be signed or encrypted if you have the recipients certificate installed. I cannot seem to get this to work. I have created the certificates specifically for email, the certificate shows in Keychain as well as a public and private key entry, but mail refuses to see it.
Has anyone gotten this to work with Mail and self-signed certificates?
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
RacerXHave you tried setting the "Always trust" property? Double click the certificate in Keychain Access and allow it to have always trust for email.
Also, make sure that bundles are enabled for mail.
(Forget the command, google for "defaults write com.apple.mail enableBundles")
That did it for me.

What bluetooth EARPHONES work with i-phone 3gs
what bluetooth earphones work with i-phone 3gs i've looked at a couple but found not compatible, so any suggestion's would be great
The iPhone is not designed to pair via Bluetooth to any computer (Mac or otherwise) except for personal hotspot and it will only do that if your cellular plan supports it. Following is a link to bluetooth profiles supported: iOS: Supported Bluetooth profiles
If you are trying to pair for Handoff or Continuity, note 2 things: 1- Both devices must have bluetooth turned on and they must be in range of each other, but you do not pair the devices as you would for other bluetooth uses; and 2- Handoff and Continuity do not seem to be working for a large number of people and there is no clear answer that is solving this for them. -
Will icloud work with Leopard 10.5?
Will iCloud work with Leopard 10.5 running on a mini?
Hi there, depends what you want. Lon/10.7.x is neeeded for full support on the Mac.
You can view everything in any Broweser, but you can't Sync anything other than setting up an iCloud IMAP account...
iCloud Mail setup...
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
▪ Server name: imap.mail.me.com
▪ SSL Required: Yes
▪ Port: 993
▪ Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
▪ Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
▪ Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
▪ SSL Required: Yes
▪ Port: 587
▪ SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
▪ Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
▪ Password: Your iCloud password
From here on out, unless you're dependent on the latest iDevices I'd look elsewhere for solutions, understandably Apple is looking out for Apple, but what I don't understand is how long they can ignore user's needs. -

Will Nike+ work with my iPhone 3G
I know it works with 3GS, but will it work with iPhone3G
No it wont. We tried it on my GFs 3G. =(
It just says 'This accessory is not compatible with this device'. Good thing Apple's return policy is decent. I was able to get a full refund.
It seems like a pretty arbitrary limitation to me. Apple in their infinite wisdom have decided not make it work. Perhaps an attempt to sell more Nanos? -

Welcome to the Support Communities!
I believe you are asking about iCloud, which is the best way to synchronize your email, calendar, contacts and notes between your computer and your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
