Will HP Mini 110-1006tu support 2GB memory?

The HP specification table shows a maximum of 1GB only. However, the motherboard chipset (i945GSE+ICH7M) should support up to 2GB.
Has anyone tried 2GB yet? Will that work on this model?

I did it and it works fine.2GB Patriot PSD22G8002S
2GB PC-2 6400 800 Mhz CL5

Other memory may work but this is whats in and working here.

Very impressed so far with HP mini but have not had any contact with HP support or a need so far.... unit only 2 weeks old.
Just hope they did not cheap out on the 6 cell  battery as have had poor experience with other laptop batteries life expectancy in the past.

  • Windows 7 Starter supporting 2GB memory?

I upgraded my Ideapad s10-3, (which I just bought a few weeks ago) with a 2 GB memory module. I wonder if Windows 7 Starter supports 2GB memory. In the manuals it it is said, w7 Starter does not support 2GB. However, when I start up the Task Manager it shows memory usage of over 1GB, depending on how many applications I have started. How can I check it. Any help is appreciated.

BIOS password for HP Mini 110-1006TU PC can no longer be remembered. How can I reset the BIOS password? Have tried removing BIOS battery but to no avail.
    Thank you!

Try this, remove the Notebook and CMOS battery, AC Adapter and the hold power button down for a few sec. Put everything back it and then power up the notebook...

Yes, the issue is with Memory Controller on N455/N475 processor. It is having issue with working, with any and every DDR3 memory module...Here is on going thread, where couple of memory module are listed, that reportly is working...

Why max memory supported is  8gb and has 4 slots,  but don't support 2gb DDR2 800mhz module?

Why max memory supported is  8gb and has 4 slots,  but don't support 2gb DDR2 800mhz module?
This is an (Intel!) chipset (memory controller) limitation rather than a board or BIOS problem.  Intel states it somewhat differently:
    http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/datasheet/313053.pdf
    Quote
    Supports 256-Mb, 512-Mb, and 1-Gb technologies for x8 and x16 devices (DDR2
    800MHz 1Gb technology not supported)
Intel refers to the density rather than the memory capacity/size.  Look at this Kingston module model for example:
    http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KVR800D2N5_2G.pdf
    Quote
The components on this module include
    sixteen 128M x 8-bit DDR2-800 SDRAM in FBGA packages
"128M x 8-bit" refers to the density of the memory chips used on those modules (=1024 Mbit or 1Gbit (1Gb)).  There are sixteen of those 128M x 8-bit chips on the module which gives you a capacity of precisely 1024Mbit x 16 = 16384 Mbit (2024 MByte).
A 2GB DDR2-800 module that meets the Intel specifications for the P965 memory controller (512Mbit maximum density for DDR2 800) would need to have 64M x 8-bit components but would need precisely 32 of those chips to reach a capacity of 2GByte.  Try to find a DDR2-800 module that can hold 32 memory chips and you will be able to run them @DDR2-800.  To my knowledge such modules do not exits (the module I used as an example has 8 chips on each side).
That is where the limitation comes from (it is not an MSI thing).

  • Can i use 2gb memory in one slot in my 2006 Mac mini as the 2 slots of 1gb only reports only 1gb memory, both memory work ok in the one slot

Can I use 2gb memory in one slot in my 2006 Mac mini as the 2 slots of 1gb only reports as 1gb memory, both memory work ok in the one slot as I have swapped them over

To my knowledge 1GB modules are the max. size for the 2006 Mini.
    2GB modules are not recognized/useable.

  • Will an HP Mini 210-1212NR work with a HP Mini 110-1212NR? Screen?

I accidently purchased an HP mini 110 screen for hp 210 netbook. I'm wondering if it will still work if I install it? Will i need to install drivers...first?

    Hello Fiona6,
I use iMac (Snow Lep) and 2011 Mini (Lion) and from both systems my results are:
Wired keyboard & mouse - work ok, I don't like or use wireless types.
My LaserJet 1010 - works ok (Your 1012 should also work, same series of printer).
If your display works ok now, cannot see why it would not work. My mini works with various vga and DVI displays I have at various times attached to it.
Don't know about your scanner though, with my all in one printer/scanner I have had to use OS X Image Capture program to scan. Might be worth a look at Epson's site to check on any software updates.
    Roy.
Edit: Regarding display if you are getting a new mini you will need a new display adapter, minidisplayport to vga or dvi, assuming your display is one of these. This can be plugged into the Thunderbolt port on the new Macs.

  • HP mini 110- 3500 laptop fails to boot after SSD upgrade

    Hello,
I recently bought a "crucial 250gb 2.5 " SSD and 2gb RAM (also by crucial), to upgrade my HP mini 110-3500 laptop, which was exceedingly slow. But unfortunately, the laptop has refused to boot when powered on. What can I do? I am very worried.
    Enkay1

You answered. That is what I thought. You have DDR3L-1600 low voltage 1.35 volts. Low voltage will run at the higher voltage (1.5 volts) but it is just not the ideal memory for the older hardware. You need DDR3-1333 memory as HP specified for the laptop. You can confirm or refute my diagnosis by putting in the old memory and see if she boots.  This is the part mumber you need: 621567-001 http://www.ebay.com/itm/2GB-COMPAT-TO-621567-001-A3803335-A4100445-A4427375-/230655741975?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b4275017  Does your memory have 8 black blocks on the side or just 4? You want 8. Also if you have Windows 7 Starter you cannot use 2 gigs of RAM. If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

  • HP Mini 110-3150CA - RAM Upgrade?

I just picked up a HP Mini 110-3150CA - I have 1gb Ram - But I would like to upgrade to 2GB ram -- can this be done? And what type of Ram do I buy?

    Here is the Manual.
    Manual
Instructions for upgrading memory are on page 51.
It uses DDR2 laptop memory 667 mhz which is commonly available even at a store like Best Buy. It only has one module so you have to replace the 1 gig module in it with a 2 gig module. You will be glad you did. It will run much better on 2 gigs.

  • HP Mini 110 hangs on HP Logo

I recently (7/20/09) purchased a new HP Mini 110.(110-1020NR).  It worked fine for the first two weeks then today wouldn't boot.  It makes a barely audible series of low decibel chirps in a rapid repeating succession.  It hangs on the HP logo though you are able to enter into the bios.  In the bios, when you go to the page with the hard drive test it shows it grayed out.  I don't believe that it's detecting the hard drive, but it could also be the mobo though I am skeptical.  I checked HP's site and they had a link for this phenomena.  It recommend reseating the memory, which I did and then performed a memory test in the bios.  It checked out 100%, so I know it's not the memory.  If this was a regular laptop I would have just checked the HDD to see if it was clicking or making any odd noises indicating that it's failed, but it's not and I am not going to rip apart a two week old, under warranty, mini laptop.
They only thing I am concerned over is that it contains all of our vacation photos (we bought it for Comic-Con!) and vacation videos.  While I kinda feel like I got what I paid for, I certainly am upset that it would fail after two weeks.  I would like to think that HP would have produced a better product.  Let's hope their support is better.  I had time to write this out while on hold waiting for someone on HP's support line... so I'm not sure.
Please respond as soon as possible.  Thanks!

    Hi,
Yes there is Hp document for this situation. You can find it here.
You may pull out Your Hdd and inster it to usb case. How to remove HDD from You mini all informations here on page 42.
Plug it to other computer and copy all files from it which You need.
After this operation insert this HDD again to mini. That's all.
Give it to the service or return it back. I think then mini have the same option as other models then when there will be any problem before 30 days of using You may return it back.
You may also contact with HP. How to do it informations here. (just choose Your country there)
