Will I be able to install over the CS6 Beta? Also UI language packs.

So now Photoshop CS6 has been announced for release in May. I've setup the CS6 Beta to my prefs and it might be nice to know that I can install the new release over it instead of having to clean uninstall the Beta. Will this be possible or advisable?
Also, since the Interface language can be changed are there any plans to offer language packs without another  license purchase?  Microsoft Office for instance does sell language packs at a small fee.
Hopefully this would be a viable alternative.

Hello, from the Creative Cloud FAQ, it seems that one can chose the language of the installed programs with Creative Cloud, but I haven't got an answer whether several languages can be installed at the same time.
On the other hand, for the non-cloud version, you do need to pay a full version to get an alternate language. I made a feature request to lift that limitation, given the fact that other Adobe programs don't suffer from it: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/photoshop_allow_change_users_to_chan ge_the_ui_language do vote for it if you care!

  • I just bought a used XP Home Edition program that has been installed before. Will I be able to install this again on my computer or is it only a one time use software? I have the Product Key and CD.

I just bought a used XP Home Edition software program that has been installed before. I have the Product Key and installation disc. Will I be able to install it on my own computer? Or, is this software (purchased retail) a one time install? Please advise.

    Depends on many things.
If your system is Lion, XP can only be installed under VM.  BootCamp in Lion only accepts Windows 7.
As to "one use only", if you are referring to OEM ...
A reinstall can trigger the OS to "not register" because "a major component serial number or MAC (the network MAC chip) address" has changed, according to MS databases.
But you can call MS to get the key reactivated, usually/sometimes.  It is worth a try, at least, before spending money on another Windows 7 package.  But this discussion should end *now* at "maybe" as it treads close to matters that forum Terms-of-Use would prefer we not discuss.

You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
You can trash Firefox 4.0 then re-install Firefox 3.6, it will use your existing bookmarks, passwords etc
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

  • HP Software finds the printer, but then "the printer was unable to be installed over the network"

I have tried to search for a similar issue, but haven't had any success yet.  I doubt I'm the first with this problem!
The computer is XP SP3, the printer is Deskjet 3050A, and it's a WPA-PSK WiFi.
The printer confirms that it is connected to the WiFi.
When I run the setup tool on the computer, at the Network Check point, the setup software finds the printer at the correct IP address.  It is the only thing it discovers.
I click next, ànd after a minute or two, I get the error "the printer was unable to be installed over the wireless network"  Click Retry to try installing the printer over the network again, or click Cancel to return to the connection options.
This just cycles with no progress.  I have turned off the Windows Firewall and also disabled the AV.  No change.
I can browse to the web interface of the printer - but still can't install the printer.  It is listed in the Printers and Faxes as being Offline.
I'll try once again removing it, and re-adding it - but has anyone come across this problem before, please?
    This question was solved.

I am having a similar problem as well.  The printer is recognized (most of the time) when I run the HP Network DIagnostic Utility.  However, when I run the Add a Device setup program to install my wireless printer, it is NEVER recognized.  I have even tried to use the advvanced serach to locate it using the IP listed in the Diagnostic Utility without any luck.  As an aside, I was able to add the printer through windows just fine and am currently able to print to it, but would really like to add it using the HP installation so that I can configure the "scan to" settings again.
To make matters worse, I no longer have the USB cord that came with the printer because the device has been connected wirelessly for over a year now with minimal issues.  Any help getting this brick back online and connected to my network would be much appreciated!

  • Will I be able to install OS X Lion if I only purchased OS X Mountail Lion?

I just received an old mac from someone, when I got it I wiped the hard drive to erase all of the previous user's data. I then went into disk utility to try and re install OS X, but realized I needed a purchased copy of OS X Lion, I accidentally bought a copy of Mountain Lion.  So my question is, will I be able to install Lion, if I bought Mountain Lion?  Also if I can't, would I be able to get a refund on Mountain Lion?

How did you accidentally purchase ML? It's no longer available. And why do you need Lion?

  • Packages to install over the base packages

I have a KDE MOD arch installation and I have installed lots of packages, my question is how can I find a list of packages which I can install over the base install so that I can get all the programs installed which I have now....
for example i want to install the base arch install and then do something like
pacman -Sy xorg firefox truecrypt etc etc..
Please advice, I have tried various pacman commands but iam unable to get what i need.
    Thanks,

For explicitly installed packages only, use:
    pacman -Qe | cut -d' ' -f1 >pkglist
You have to bare in mind that foreigners (packages not in core/extra/community) will give you problems though...
To filter such packages out you could do:
    pacman -Qm | cut -d' ' -f1 >foreigners
    grep -vf foreigners pkglist >toinstall
    Hope this helps!

  • If I've purchased an app like Pages or numbers on my iPad, will I be able to install on a new Mac book pro?  Never had a Mac before

If I've purchased an app like Pages or numbers on my iPad, will I be able to install on a new Mac book pro?  Never had a Mac before

No. The Mac OS X and iOS versions of an application are separate products, and if the developer chooses, purchases.

  • I am planning to buy macbook pro,as i am working as a oracle developer,so i want to ask will i be able to install oracle 10G or above versions on my mac...??

i am planning to buy macbook pro,as i am working as a oracle developer,so i want to ask will i be able to install oracle 10G or above versions on my mac...??

did you get a satisfactory response on your question re oracle 10g on os x snow leopard?  I am curious as I have been 'struggling' with it for a few days now.  To my experience thusfar, the oracle files provided are not up to date with current java versions or os x leopard and require some tweaking.  my own answer to your question is that it does appear that you can install and run oracle 10g on mac os x snow leopard, but it seems to be a little hacky to get through it all.  Some information here, other information there, haven't yet found a single source that has all the play by play and gotcha fixes documented.  I am rsisting nuking my debian install on amd64 just to put fedoracore which does appear to be a supported env for oracle 10 on linux.

  • Will I be able to install Mac OS on a PC ?

Will I be able to install Mac OS on a PC? If yes, I am assuming that you will need to reformat the Hard Drive?

Even if usable, stable, and reliable, not legal. Apple has legally forbidden the use of Mac OS on anyone else's machines.

  • Wi-Fi has self-assigned IP address 169.254.9.151 and will not be able to connect to the Internet

In trying to setup my AirPort Extreme, it connects to the Internet on ethernetcables to computer but says it is not on WI-FI. I have configured it with all that I casn think of and yet I get, "Wi-Fi has self-assigned IP address 169.254.9.151 and will not be able to connect to the Internet." Can anyone tell me what is wrong?
I did both a soft reset and a hard reset to no avail. PLEASE someone help!!
    Thanks!

I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
    Power-up your computer(s).
If the above steps do not solve the problem, start over with step 1 above, but then perform the next steps between steps 1 & 2. above.
Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
Continue with step 2 in the first set of steps.
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

    Don't need a crossover cable.

I have an Imac with the Intel Core Duo Processor.  Will I be able to upgrade to the new OSX Lion?

You need a Core 2 Duo or later to use Lion.  You will need to install Snow Leopard in order to access the Mac App Store to download Lion when it becomes available.
