Will I be able to using existing apps on a new Mac?

I have a Macbook Air and am thinking of buying a desktop Mac. I have purchased various apps for my Macbook Air through the app store. Will I be able to use these on a new Mac if I log in using my Apple ID, or can I only use them on one device?
This seems like such a simple question, but Google hasn't yielded the answer for me yet

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
and select the Library that you moved. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Your first option didn't work because you imported one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
Your second option didn't work because you simply referenced her library on the old machine.

(How) Can I use Existing Time Machine On New Mac Without Erasing Original TM Backups?

I just got through doing a clean install from Mavericks to Yosemite and now I'm trying to attach and recognize the original Time Machine Drive (TMD)
I chose to install as a new computer and did not choose a Time Machine backup option because the original TMD was not attached at the time of installation.
Upon arriving at the desktop and connecting my original TMD, I was able to see it in finder but Time Machine did not automatically accept it.
I am able to see the disk in Time Machine but it doesn't tell me that its got data on it .
HERE'S THE ANXIOUS MOMENT: If I select TMD, which is the original, will it overwrite all that orignal information, or will it continue adding to it?
I've read under different parts of the forum that if you go through this process during the original setup and the Time Machine drive is attached to the computer then you will be prompted to inherit the old Time Machine. Since I didn't have the drive attached, I didn't see that.
Now back to desktop and into the Time Machine utility: This option to inherit doesn't seem to exist or is obvious. The only option after selecting the drive in Time Machine is "Use Disk". If I click this, will it erase my original data or will it ask to inherit the drive? It's not very clear what will happen after I click "Use Disk".

Thanks for the link. I went there but didn't find any information on how to inherit the backup history. The link says "If you’re replacing an old Mac and want the new Mac to use the backups from the old one, click Inherit Backup." At what point in the migration process does it ask "to specify whether you (I) want a new Mac to inherit a backup"? It seems like I got quite a few levels into Migration assistant and the last click that I did not click seemed like it was good to start the process without telling me anything about inheriting anything.
Any suggestions or did I not go far enough?

Clone the disk you use to start your Mac, or physically move it from an old Mac to a new Mac.
Replace your computer’s main board.
If you’re replacing an old Mac and want the new Mac to use the backups from the old one, click Inherit Backup.
If you plan to continue to use your old Mac, click Create New Backup to preserve the backup history and start separate backups for the new Mac.

If i reinstall my mac format ipod to a pc will i be able to use it on both?

i have a video ipod which is formatted to my mac, however its really inconvienient not being able to use it a file storage to tranfer files to pcs. if i reformat the ipod onto a pc, will i be able to use it on both pc and mac or will i just screw it up?!

Technically this is not "supported" by Apple though, so be prepared to restore it on a Mac to troubleshoot if you run into problems. I use FAT32-formatted iPods on my Macs with no real problems though.

You can do this - by not doing it the way You describe as it will not work.
a. the external hard disk - MUST BE - Mac OS extended (hfs) formatted -
UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - will work for most things - BUT NOT FOR VIDEO (iMovie, iDVD or FinalCut doesn't matter)
b. Do not alter or move any folder named
• iMovie Event's - or -
• iMovie Project's
on DeskTop/Finder - at all
All moving's of Events and Projects must be done within the iMovie Application - then connections will not break.
(move them back and see if iMovie remembers them - then do move as described above)

When I get a Mac Pro, I want to get an ATI Radeon X1900XT graphics card. I notice that it has two dual-link DVI ports. Does that mean I have to use a 30" display?

Yes, you will be able to use the ATI graphics card to drive just about any monitor on the planet, including the giant 30" display. Your existing display will work just fine. In fact if you have another spare monitor around you can hang that one on the second output socket and have two with no problems at all.
If you have an older Apple Desktop Connector on your monitor you may need a cable adapter. Other than that it should be blindingly fast at that resolution.

You probably can open the Keynote '06 files with Keynote for iOS but not the other way around. Files created by the iOS iWork apps can only be opened by iWork '09 apps on the Mac.

The Apple Genius' were stumped by my laptop issues and said they'd never seen anything like it before and recommended I did a clean install. Below you can see my trash bin, and if you look at the "Empty" button it reads "N201" and then there's the "N39" to the left of it. You can also see these numbers over by the folder area--"SD5, SD6, SD7." But that's not all...
When I right click on items I see the numbers again. Instead of "Open with" I get "N152" and there's an "N35" and "LB1" towards the bottom.
I have no idea what's going on so I'm just going to do a clean install on my machine but I don't want to lose my apps. I don't have the original install DVDs for them anymore. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

You don't lose them. You can always redownload them from the app store after you log back in with your Apple ID.

Well, everything that you have bought with her Apple ID prior to getting your own Apple ID is forever hers. Apple will not transfer content from one ID to another. But in the case of the Mac, contact iTunes Customer Service and request that they send your issue to the Account Security Team and ask that the Mac be released form your mother's account so you may register it with your account. Then you can accept the iLife apps into your account for any future updates.

What do you mean with plugging Confluence to WebCenter? The question is quite abstract.
The OWCS Wiki and Forum are not mandadory. You can use whatever you want. The ability to integrate any web application shall be evaluated in conjunction with the desired usability and technical capabilities of the application. How do you want to let the user handle your Wiki in your WebCenter app and how will your Wiki be capable to support this? For instance, if you want to embed your Wiki in you web page through portlets you should check whether your Wiki will support portlets. If not you should check whether you can develop your own portlets. This implies that you are able to retrieve the desired data for the portlet from the Wiki through an API or so. Plugging in can be anything from a simple hyperlink through portlets up to Data Controls
To shorten the answer: you should check that with your Wiki, not with WebCenter. Oracle Webcenter is capable of consuming WSRP/JSR168 portlets or Oracle JPDK portlets. Also you can plug you data controls in to fetch data from you repository to the model layer of your WebCenter application.

At this point, you can no longer download Lion (10.7) from the App Store, only Mountain Lion (10.8) - make sure all your applications are fully compatible if you decide to upgrade.
Yes, you can restore 10.6 using your restore disc should you wish to - and the App Store (not ITunes) will have a record of all your purchases, since it's linked to your AppleId.

Yes, but you will need a valid mailing address in the US as well as a US payment method, either a US credit card or a US-issued iTunes card, to purchase. And you probably won't be able to update any such apps once you get back to Libya since you're not allowed to use the US iTunes Store from outside of its country.

I am considering joining the Creative Cloud as an Individual Single App plan $19.99. What I am looking for the most is the actual Photoshop program. I already have Photoshop Elements 10 and Lightroom 4. I have actions and template that I need Photoshop in order to utilize. Will I be able to use the actions and templates with the Photoshop on Creative Cloud????

You will have to ask the creators of the actions for version compatibility. Nobody can give you a blanket answer on that. Traditionally, many actions break across versions since the internal commands they trigger change, menus get rearranged and whatever. Not sure what your otehr question is supposed to mean - when you stop paying, the tools will stop working, it's as simple as that.
