Will I get the same warranty services in australia if I purchase my MacBook Pro oversea (I.e. Malaysia)?

Hi there, I am planning to purchase the new MacBook Pro oversea Malaysia. Apparently it is cheaper compared to australia retail price. However, I am concerned about the warranty. Do I have to purchase the machine in australia to be entitled for Apple store warranty services in australia? Thanks

The Apple warranty is world wide.  Have no fear, you will receive the same treatment in Australia as if you had purchased it there.

The Apple Product Registration website is closed.
If you’re trying to register an Apple product, chances are it’s already registered. Most Apple products can be registered when you turn them on for the first time and begin the setup process. Service and support for your Apple product are linked to its serial number, so it’s OK if you don’t register it. I wanted to know if I buy a macbook through amazon, will I get the same 1-year warranty like every other apple product.

    Yes.
This does not necessarily apply to "Amazon Marketplace" sellers, who may be selling used equipment.

  • Can I sync the same iTunes library on both my iMac and my MacBook Pro?

Can I sync the same iTunes library on both my iMac and my MacBook Pro?  I've been connecting my iPhone to each and it's causing problems for me with them being different, despite my purchases always being under the same Apple ID.

The easy way to do this is to keep the library on an external drive which you can plug into either computer.  Of course this isn't always the desirable solution.  You can try routinely copying the library from computer to computer though this gets tiresome.

  • Will i get the same care from the Apple Website as i do when buying from the Apple Store?

I am looking into buying an iPad mini 3 for christmas, i wanted to get the free engraving which only comes when you order from the website.
I was wondering if i will get the same level of care buying from the website as i did from the Apple Store?
I purchased a MacBook Pro from the Apple Store in Bath, UK about 3 years ago now, and when my Hard Drive packed up i took it into the Apple Store in Cardiff, UK to get it looked at. They replaced my Hard Drive there and then; free of charge as they were able to trace my purchase back to the Apple Store despite it being out of warranty. Will it be the same if there ever was a problem if i was to buy it off of the Apple Website?

The warranty is the warranty. Your device will be backed if it's bought from the site or brick and mortar store or even an authorized third party (in other words I bought my iPad at best buy and I can still take it into an apple store and have them back the warranty)

  • If I buy a mac nook air in USA and use it in india or some other country will I get the same service and replacement facility and buy the apple protection plan in some other country?

Will I be able to use the same services in other country?
Will I be able to book the apple protection plan in other country?
If at all I get a replacement for my mac book air, then will I have to send it to the country from where I bought or anywhere?

It looks as though the Mac has a global warranty.  Take a look at Applecare Protection Plan for Mac or Apple Display for full details.
It likely depends on the availability of Apple stores or authorised repair agencies in the country you will be in.

  • If I buy a refurbished macbook pro in the US and bring it to India, will I get the same Apple support in terms of repair, warranty or returns here too if anything goes wrong?

I live in India and I'm about to order a refurb macbook pro to be brought in here by my friend.
I'll be ordering a genuine one from the US apple store and not from any third party vendor.
If I find anything wrong with the device, which is quite unlikely to happen from the reviews i read, what'll be the follow up procedure for the same?

  • Taking over a line - Will I get the same problems?

I moved into new premises last Friday. I knew the previous occupant and I had already ordered my new BT line with infinity prior to my chat with him about HIS connection.
He told me he upgraded to Infinity 2 and was quoted 65D and 15U but had never got more than 40D and 10U. He had an engineer out and was told thats the max the line could handle, and until he moved out was stuck with a max profile of 43.3D and 20U.
Anyway I explained this situation to the sales rep when I ordered my new line and broadband and was assured this would NOT be the case in my situation. I was told that athough they could not give me specifics (aparently they are not allowed), but my line was coming out of a different "part" of the cabinet.
I explained to the rep that I understand what he was saying but the previous tennant had been told by openreach that they were getting 80MB at the cabinet and the speed was reducing between the cabinet and the premises, and the new line they are installing was just a "take over" and not a new physucal line so therefore I am worried I might inherit the same issue.
The sales rep told me this would definately not be the case and they get lots of calls like mine and its quite normal to expect things to be the same when you take over the line but this isnt how it works.
So my question, is, does it sound like im being fobbed off or, is there really a chance that suddenly the line might be better if its coming out of a different part of the cabinet even though its the same physical line and the original connection was getting 80MB at the cab end.
I was also promised that if i DIDNT get the expected speeds that BT would install a completely new physical line, which would be nice for customer options to listen into if things go pearshaped. I was also told that If i didnt get the estimates speed then I would only be charged for infinity 40/10??
How much of this is waffle?

    Infinity installed...
Same issues!!! Going to cancel and move to Sky's up to 40MB package for half the price. Being given the guff about waiting 10 days though.

  • I'm unable to install iTunes 12 or even iCloud. Everytime I do I get the same **** error "Service 'Bonjour Service' failed to start. Verfiy that you have sufficent privileges to start system services."

Apple does it again, with another one of your annoying updates. Everything was working just fine with iTunes 11.4. But I was forced to upgrade to iTunes 12, following which iTunes wouldn't detect my iPhone (iPhone 5S 64GB). So I uninstalled iTunes, and have been trying to do a clean reinstall. I've tried everything suggested on the Apple Community but neither iTunes NOR iCloud install giving me the same ****** error every time (image attached). I even tried to skip this step, but Apple for some god forsaken reason cannot run without Bonjour, and the install process rolls back when I click 'Ignore'. Please help!

Try a more recent version of my advice. The "for older video cards version" may work when the default version doesn't.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • How can i have the same files on my iMac as i do my Macbook Pro?

Im no computer whiz but i know more than the average joe. But when it comes to things like this im not an expert. I am a Photograher, Graphic Designer, and Videographer. I use my Macbook Pro on the go and my iMac in home. I would like to be able to have a matching folder structure for all my files and have both computers running the same aperture libraries and final cut libraries. Essentially a mirrored machine. Or just a directory that i can acsess from both of them. I assume this would be the work of a server? I just dont know enough about how fast would it be if i had my aperture library referenced off of a server attached to my home network and i was connected via wireless N "i could do ethernet but that would require me to venture to the basement" Also i assume that i would be able to connect all of these external drives i have to it? Say i had drive A1 and B1 A1 would be the master and B1 would be the back up and so on for A2 and B3? kinda like a raid set up so i can have a drive for photographery thats backed up one for video thats backed up and so on thanks.
Also could i use such server to remotely render files for my applications? Such as Final Cut, After Effects, or Cinema 4D?
Also this is all based around a Mac Mini Server as i dont have the money to be spending thousands of dollars. "I already did with my computers haha."
Thanks i appreciate it in advance!
If any of this was confusing i can re write it all thanks!

I'm trying to do something similar with my iMac set up as an Open Directory server with network accounts, and then having my MacBook bind to it for login and home folder syncing. I still don't have it working the way I would like, maybe someone here could help me. I'm no expert, I found an up-to-date book at my university library, but it doesn't mention mobile accounts.
    What I did:
    1. Installed Server on my iMac and configured it for network accounts. I made a few test accounts.
    2. Configured the test accounts for mobile home folder and mobile syncing. I also configured the path to the home folder to be the server (iMac).
    3. Under Users and Groups preferences on my MacBook, made my iMac the network account server.
    What I got:
    1. I could login to any of my test network accounts from either computer.
    2. I could could create files on my MacBook and have them automatically sync with my iMac, and vice versa.
    What I didn't get:
    1. When I removed my iMac from the network, I could not log in to ANY account on my MacBook, not even local user accounts.
    2. If I made a change, such as in iPhoto on my MacBook, then made some other changes in iPhoto on my iMac, the sync can sometimes produce the wrong results, i.e. imports added photos, but not changed foto albums. (This would not be a problem on a dedicated server, but this could be a show stopper for the parent unless there is a good work around.)
For me the show stopper is not being able to login without the iMac on the network. I remember NetInfo from the NeXTSTEP days and I thought the reason we went with OpenDirectory was so we could login without the server being connected. If anyone knows how to get OpenDirectory to work without a network, please let me know, and no - I do not want to install Server on my MacBook and make a clone directory.

  • Recently my iPad3 and iPhone5 stopped synching automatically to iCloud. Around the same time I backed them both up to my Macbook Pro and installed the iOS6 update. Any thoughts or help is appreciated!

Recently, I noticed that my iPhone5, iPad 3 and iPod Touch 4th Gen stopped backing up to the iCloud automatically despite ALL of them doing so previously, without a single problem. A few weeks ago I bought a Macbook Pro and I backed up all 3 devices to it a couple times (and they still backed up to the iCloud by themselves without a problem). A few days ago, I noticed that ALL 3 OF THEM stopped backing up to the iCloud automatically. Around the same time, I backed them up to my Mac and I also downloaded the iOS6 update. I'm not sure what is wrong. Has anybody else experienced this type of problem? I'm NOT very familiar with MAC computers as this is my first one and I've been learning a lot as I go. I don't know if I did something in the setting's of iTunes when I backed the devices up that could have caused the decives to stop backing up to the iCloud automatically. I did notice on my previous laptop (a Gateway) and on this one (the MacBook Pro) that on each device, I had to go into "Setting's" on each device and turn the "iCloud Backup" back to the  "On" position! That was right after I backed them up to each computer. I attempted to fix it yesterday by adjusting the setting's in iTunes, but nothing worked. If anyone can help, I would sincerely appreciate it. Thank you!!!

Ok, I can try those things this afternoon. I have to leave now and won't be able to try for several hours. I'll let you know how things turn out. Thank you again. Also, I am not sure what DNS Setting's are regarding the router and how to change them. Thank you again for trying to help me with this. One side note. I noticed yesterday on another post regarding this topic, a man said he changed his iCloud email from one to another. I have two. One is and @me.com address and one is an @icloud.com address. I switched them around the other day. One device had @me.com as the one the email one be sent from (I think that was the phone) and I believe the iPad 3 had @iCloud.com as the other. Well, I switched them both to @icloud.com. In the post I mentioned a man said that he did that to his, and it worked. That was a few days ago and this was around the same time I began noticing the devices not synching to iCloud like they should. Right now I have for the iCloud email account (on both the iPhone and the iPad) @iCloud.com as the setting that any emails from that account would be sent from and the @me.com is also turned to the "On" position on both devices. I figured that if I'm sending an email from an iCloud account it should say "@iCloud.com" after it rather than "@me.com" after it. I just did that so everthing was the same on both devices and out of personal preference. No other reason really as I don't ever use the account to email anyone and have never given either address to anyone. Only Apple has them and they sent a couple things initially and I never receive anything on that account (for the most part). Ocasionally I get something from Apple and that's a rarity. I don't know if that may factor in at all or not. It did for one gentleman. Thank you randers4!

  • I want to purchase a Macbook Pro overseas for the keyboard layout and set the OS to English, but if I do so, would the keyboard layout also switch to English? Can I set the foreign layout as default?

I would assume that changing the default keyboard so that I can use the proper corresponding one is possible, but I would just like to make sure before I buy one.
