  • Will I have to Buy a Pro Key After Every QT Revision???

Help me understand...if I buy a QT Pro activation key today for QT v7.03, will I have to buy an another activation key ($30 from Apple) to get the Pro functions to work on the next version of QT (e.g. 7.03 is replaced by 7.04 or 8.0)?

Apple's history regarding the "Pro" upgrade has been very consistent since version 4.
You key will be good until version 8 is installed on your computer.
Incremental updates will not require a new registration.

  • My one year warranty expired recently, a month ago my charger was replaced under warranty and it has only lasted a month and has broken again, does the replacement charger come with a new warranty or will i have to buy a new one?

Bought the phone on contract last January (late in january), had my charger replaced just after christmas and now it has stopped working again, its been about a month and a half and the replacement charger is broken, does the replacement charger come with a new warranty or will I have to buy a new charger? And if so, is there a charger that doesn't break easily (my problem is the the wire at the phone end of the cable seems to bunch and twist etc.)
    thanks.

a warranty replacement if the donor is out of warranty has a new 90 days warranty from exchange date

    Larry,
After you install Mavericks, run Software Update. You should be offered the updates in the normal update mode. No charge.

  • So I buy Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Lepoard. and my Mac will be able to download 11.05 itunes update correct? Or will I have to buy the upgrades all the way to OS X Mountain Lion?

and my Mac will be able to download 11.05 itunes update correct? Or will I have to buy the upgrades all the way to OS X Mountain Lion? All I want to do is confirm that if i get this upgrade my new ipad will be able to connect to my itunes!

Yes, assuming you are not already running Snow Leopard.
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.

  • I'm getting a new ipod. My old one had a lot of music on it, so if I used my Apple ID when I ordered the new one, will they restore my music or will I have to buy it all again?

I don't really mind either way, but will I have to buy my music all over again, or will I get the new product with my music already on it? To make this a bit simpler, my itunes account never correctly synced with the music I bought on my ipod. I had a 5th gen, was completely satisfied with it, but I ended putting it through a swim session in a nearby lake. With my new ipod, also a 5th gen, will my music already be on the ipod? Any insight to this would be appreciated.

You can redownload most iTunes purchases at no additions cost by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

So my iMac will be the same as the new one that will be released this year,
Or will I have to buy a new iMac to get all these new updates ??
It would be a shame if I did because my iMac is only 6months old if that ..
Kind regards Simon Trott Apple user and proud of it

We're not allowed to speculate on future or rumoured Apple products, but we all know there'll always be newer tech coming along.
The iMac you have is an excellent machine, be happy with it and get a good few years use out of it. By the time your machine is slowing down, whatever comes next will have been updated numerous times.
    I had the 2011 i5 27" delivered about 3 weeks ago. It's a cracking machine

  • I have Final Cut X and Adobe progras on my Imac. Can I copy those programs into a Macbook or will I have to buy them or my Macbook? Completely tech illiterate.

I have Final Cut Pro and various Adobe programs on my Imac. I will need to get a Macbook in the next few months and need to know if I can share these programs between the 2 computers or will I have to buy them for the Macbook. I bought my Imac used on Ebay with the programs already installed on it. I do not  have any discs for the programs. I am new to computing and completely tech illiterate.
    Thanks for your help.

    You need to buy them.
Software which came on disks can't be reinstalled without them.
Software which was downloaded from the Mac App Store is tied to the downloader's Apple ID.

  • If I'm running Lion, will I have to buy Mountain Lion to get the new features?

If I'm running Lion, will I have to buy Mountain Lion to get the new features? Or will the features also be sold as appts?

Apple charges less for OSX upgrades than most apps cost.  I wouldn't bet on having them separated out, but you can use Messages now, since it's a beta.  But I believe that even that gets shut off by Apple once 10.8 comes out.
I think you should just focus on getting Mountain Lion.  Also, remember, the Terms of Use for this forum precludes us from speculating on what Apple will or won't do with new products/software/etc.

  • Will i have big problems if i go back to Mountain Lion after having upgraded to Mavericks?

Will i have big problems if i go back to Mountain Lion after having upgraded to Mavericks? I also updated iphoto, pages ,numbers etc

According to the App Store, Pages compatibility is v10.9 or later.
    Same for iPhoto and Numbers.
Those apps will not run on v10.8 Mountain Lion.

Check first if your Mac might be compatable.

  • I have an iMac with a Magic Mouse, if I want to upgrade my iMac to the OS X Lion, will I have to buy a Magic Trackpad?

I have an iMac with a Magic Mouse, if I want to upgrade my iMac to the OS X Lion, will I have to buy a Magic Trackpad?

Expanding on what Barry said, Lion includes features specifically for trackpads, but it's by no means necessary to have one. A Magic Mouse will work just fine (as will any other mouse or trackball).
    Regards.
