  • Will i loose any data if i sync with itune?

i recently format my laptop and i dont have any backup's

    Yes.
This means you lost all data on your computer's hard drive - everything - all documents, photos, etc.?
So every time you pay this regular Microsoft tax, you lose all data and have to start completely over?
You will lose all iTunes content on your iPhone and all photos on your iPhone that were transferring from your computer unless you transfer this data from your iPhone to your computer first.
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod, iPad, or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to re-authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
Photos on your iPhone that were transferred from your computer were optimized for viewing on your iPhone as part of the iTunes transfer process - the original resolution of these photos was reduced on your iPhone and will be permanently lost. Apple doesn't support transferring this data in the opposite direction for this reason. Photos transferred from your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data such as your iTunes library, documents, etc.
There are some 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring such data from your iPhone to your computer including any iTunes content on your iPhone that was not purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store. Here is one such utility that is compatible with a Mac only, but I believe there is another or others that are Windoze compatible.

  • What all information will i loose if I sync iPhone with another computer?

    Hey,
Just wanted to understand what all information will i loose if i sync my iphone with another computer?
will i loose my contacts and messages?
    Thanks
    Cheers
    Divesh

Syncing your iPhone with iTunes on another computer will not erase all data on your iPhone. SMS/MMS will not be touched, photos/video in your iPhone's Camera Roll, the same for notes, email accounts, and iPhone settings.
In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced or manually managed with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first with a warning message provided indicating this will happen.
You can sync contacts, calendar events, and Safari bookmarks with the supported applications on multiple computers.
You can transfer iTunes content and photos from one computer along with syncing contacts, calendar events, and Safari bookmarks with the supported applications.
When connecting your iPhone to iTunes on another computer, you will be provided a warning message that your iPhone has been synced with iTunes on another computer. If you don't select to transfer any iTunes content or photos from another computer, no iTunes content and photos that were transferred from a different computer will be erased from your iPhone. If you select to sync contacts, calendar events, and Safari bookmarks only with the supported applications on another computer, only this data will be touched on your iPhone.

  • I am going to replace  the memory module, will I loose the existing stored memory

I have a imac desktop with one memory module,, would like to insert 2 new memory modules,, will I loose stored memory

No. Nothing is stored in RAM when the computer's off, and you'll need to turn it off while upgrading its RAM.
RAM and drive space aren't the same. Back up the contents of the internal drive.

  • Add memory s10e will not boot

I just added a PNY 1GB PC2-5300 DDR2 667MHz/533MHz/400MHz to my s10e.  When i do the computer will not boot.  What is the issue with this memory?

Your memory card may not be seated properly or you have a bad memory stick.

  • I currently use CS4 and have designs using this. If I upgrade to CC will I still be able to modify my CS4 designs? I'm thinking of unistalling CS4 to add memory to my computer.

If my system currently has CS4 and designs have been created with CS4, will I be able to modify those designs with Creative Cloud? Also, If I upgrade to Creative Cloud, should I uninstall CS4 to make more space on my computer?

Yes, legacy files can be opened in CC. Whether or not you uninstall CS4 is entirely up to you, but since opening files in newer versions may sometimes change appearances due to technical changes, it's usually a good idea to keep older versions around during transition phases, if only to check for those issues and verify that they are "real".

  • Trying to add memory to 24" 2007 iMac

Trying to add memory to mid 2007 24"iMac. Big surprise - RAM access door screw is stripped.
Any ideas about how to remove door panel without damage? Thanks

It's probably not stripped, it's a captive screw meaing you need to loose it and the use straid blade screw driver or pick to loosen the door. If you can't manage it your local Apple Store or AASP will take care of it in less than 30 seconds.

  • How do I add memory to a MacBook Pro?

How do I add memory to my MacBook Pro?

You have to open the bottom cover of the MBP to get to the memory slots.  There are about 10 very small screws around the perimeter, some of which are longer than others so you have to be very careful not to mix them up when you take the cover off.  You will need a very small phillips-head screwdriver (small jewelers size).   Once you have removed the screws you may have to gently pry the cover off (there is some sticky stuff inside).  You will then see the RAM slots more or less in the middle of the computer.
The booklet that came with your MBP has instructions about how to insert/remove the RAM SODIMMs ... there is a plastic tab on each side of the SODIMMs that you push outward and the RAM will pop up slightly ... you can then gently pull it out.   Note there is a slot cut in the pin edge of the SODIMMs ... remember it's orientation so you put the new RAM in the same way.  It only goes in one way.
It's wise to use the crucial.com Memory Advisor first so you get the exact kind & amount of RAM that is compatible with your MBP.

  • I would like to upgrade my OS to the latest version.  I now have 10.6.8 and my machine has 1Gb of memory.  Need 2Gb for the new OS.  Is is possible (and practical) to add memory to a machine that's five years old?

You can put two 2gb RAM sticks in your model 2,1 but it can only use 3,3gb. This is a hardware limitation and cannot be changed.

    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/faq/macbook-pro-core-2-duo-3-g b-memory-limitation-details.html
OWC tests have found that there is a slight speed increase with having two 2gb sticks in rather than one 1gb and one 2gb. Your model is in the gray lines at the bottom of the graph. http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/Memory_Benchmark/Apple_MacBook/
You can buy Lion for $29 from the App Store witht a model 2,1 MacBook. Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly. As for programs see this list for compatibility with 10.7 http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.
These are good online stores for Mac compatible RAM
OWC http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/MacBook/DDR2/ - They offer Mac tested RAM at very good prices.
Crucial Memory http://www.crucial.com/ - good place to buy RAM from all over the world. They also have an excellent memory selector that allows you to choose memory based on your computer's model
Data Memory Systems http://www.datamemorysystems.com/apple-memory.asp - another good, cheap place to buying RAM if you live in the U.S.
Here are instructions on replacing RAM in a MacBook with a removable battery. http://homeoffice.consumerelectronicsnet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=44404
If you don’t have the tools to open up the MacBook OWC has a set for $5

  • I have a Power Book OS 10.4.11 and cant access my radio library.  I believe I deleted something I should not have. How do I reload Itunes and will I loose my music I loaded?

I have a Power Book OS 10.4.11 and cant access my radio library.  I believe I deleted something I should not have. How do I reload Itunes and will I loose my music I loaded?  I do not have the original software.  I was trying to free up some memory and removed the wrong thing.

If you mean the listing of internet streams that seems to have disappeared for many users of older iTunes versions over week ago. Probably some update at Apple broke older versions.  No idea if it will ever come back but you can open stream URLs you find on the web and save them in playlists.

  • Can you add memory to iMac 6.1?

Can you add memory to an iMac 6.1 (currently has 1 GB) and an MacBook Air (currently has 2GB) - 11 inch late 2010?

    Yes,
Your year and model iMac can take 4 GBs max., but that model will only recognize only about 3.2-3.4 GBs of the total 4 GBs.
Correct and reliable Mac RAM can be purchased from online Mac RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (macsales.com).

  • Updating to iOS7, will I loose all Nook books on my iPad?

Updating to iOS7, have Nook books on my iPad.  When syncing/backing up iPad, Nook wouldn't backup.  If I were to upgrade without backing this app up, will I loose all my Nook books or are they saved in a B&N library?  I seem to find nothing that actually answers this question anywhere.
    Thank you!

    What happens?
will I loose all my Nook books or are they saved in a B&N library?
Yes, they are in your B&N library, even if they are deleted from your iPad and computer.
I should add this question is coming from someone in management so I am trying to solve their problem for them.  He said that the app itself didn't back-up, all other apps did.
So, he can just reinstall the app (if it does't sync after upgrade), go into the app and download the books from their library?  I am not familiar with Nook. He just doesn't want to loose all his books, which I understand completely.

  • HT1430 Can not get email on Ipad latest version bought december 2012. Turned off . Turned back on, verified mail provider settings.turned off computer mail which works fine.dO i NEED TO DELETE ACCOUNT AND START NEW ONE . wILL i LOOSE PREVIOUS MAIL

CAN NOT GET MAIL. TURNED OFF IPAD . RESTARTED. VERIFIED PROVIDER SETTINGS. DOES NOT WORK. IF I CANCEL ACCOUNT AND OPEN NEW ONE WILL I LOOSE PREVIOUS MAIL.

I've removed my yahoo account several times. All it does is delete the info off my iPad and doesn't touch the account itself. So I can go back in, re-add the account and then redownload my mail again. I haven't had to change my passwords or anything.
You might look on sympatico's site, see if they have any troubleshooting specific to iPads.

Several ways.  Open a Finder window & the info will be at the very bottom of the window frame.  Also, if you open Disk Utility, click your hard drive, the info will be listed in DU.  If your HD is shown on your desktop, click on it.  Also, the info can be found inside the System Profiler.

  • HT5622 If I delete the duplicate songs will I loose content?

If I delete the songs in the duplicate file will I loose any thing from my songs or playlists?

    Hi,
The duplicate track will be removed from your library and will not affect the original. It may affect playlists. If the duplicate track was in a playlist, you will need to add the original to the playlist.
