Will i lose my unlimted data if i switch to a non-simcard smartphone to a phone that uses a sim card
i am currently using a 3G only Droid X2 and plan on switching to a Droid Razr Maxx 4GLTE, the droid X2 does not use a sim card but the Razr Maxx does, the Razr Maxx will be my first 4G phone and sim card phone, i was just curious if my unlimited data will be in tact when i make this switch from a non-sim card 3G smartphone to a sim card 4GLTE smartphone.?
Depends on how you get the Razr Maxx. You will lose your unlimited data if you sign a new two-year contract and thus get a subsidized phone If you want to keep your unlimited data, you can pay full retail price for the new phone, get it from someplace like ebay (anywhere that doesn't require you to sign a new two-year contract), or upgrade another line on your account (if one is available) and move that phone to your line.

Hi, one of my daughters friends tried to access her ipod causing it to become disabled; i do not want her to lose all her photos, she accesses my itunes account which is on ICLOUD, will she lose all her data - can this be fixed? I do not think it has been synced with a computer before.

If you previously synced to the computer then you may be able to recover use of the iPod without erasing the iPod by following the instructions here:
Disabled Recovery-must use syncing computer.
Otherwise y will have to restore and thus erase the iPod

If not in backup then:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If I use Boot camp to install windows do I need a windows disc, will i lose all my data, etc. If so how to I save them. Can I switch back to osx after I install windows. ( can I switch between Windows and OS X as many times as I want.) thanks for answering.

I am currently using a family members upgrade in order to switch to the iPhone 5. I am not upgrading on my account because I don't have an upgrade. I am simply switching phones. So will I still lose my unlimited data plan? The policy states that customers upgrading to a 4G LTE device will lose their plan. Getting the new iPhone 5 is super exciting! This would be considered "providing your own equipment" if you bring the phone from an outside source, such as another account.
This means you will not lose your Unlimited Data plan. Keep in mind that the warranty provided through us directly doesn't transfer, but Apple still provides warranty for the year you have the phone.

Wondering if you might know? I don't have enough space to update the new software on iPad. So my facetime isn't working anymore, this is prob why. Seems I have to delete like all the games/apps we have to do so. Will I lose the progress data/levels in the games? But how do I back up the games data?
Please help. Scared to delete them to update and then not have the space to restore them and if I get them again will the levels/progress be gone?
Thanks RachelConnect your device to iTunes and do the update through iTunes. Using a computer takes much less space on your device than doing the update on your device.

if i associate my apple id with another email will i lose my icloud data or i will still be able to access all my stored data with the new linked to my apple id email address?

in other words, www.icloud.com will recognize that it is still me if i login on the site? will i be able to see there all my stored information?
and if i change my password, does it automatically changes the @icloud.com password which should be the same as my apple id pass?
thanksAfter opening the email it shoud of had you enter the Apple ID and password. Using certian web browser's can cause errors. You can adjust securty settings (big pain) or you use another browser. Using Firefox or Safari should do the trick.

Hi, I currently have an LG Vortex, which I got sometime in June of this year when I was scheduled for an update. Obviously, my phone isn't ready for an update yet, but if I take in a phone I already have (such as my father's, which he's giving me because he's getting himself an iPhone) and take it into Verizon to have them switch me over to that one (which is a Droid 2), will I lose the unlimited data plan I have currently on my phone since they got rid the the unlimited data recently?
Basically, by switching phones, will I lose my data plan?
And also, since I'm not buying a new phone, that's not technically updating, so I don't have to pay for the early update fee, right?
Thanks.I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for over 15 years. I recently found out that there is no advantage to continuing as a customer. Not only will I now be charged a $30 fee to stay their customer upon renewal (this is supposed to be okay since everyone else is doing it), my plan will automatically be changed for our whole family and I will now be paying more a month for less service. So the benefits of staying a customer used to be grandfathering the plan you have, great renewal perks, and no fees; all gone. Why stay? No reason to. Thank you Verizon.
So the response from 4/2/12 is outdated. You cannot keep your (grandfather) old plan. That is a perk that has been taken away. -

If it's a genuine factory unlocked phone from Apple you should have no problems. I have had two, a 3GS and now a 4S, and they update and handle just like the locked phones. If it has been hacked in any way, though, all bets are off.

If you create a partition with Boot Camp and format that partition correctly
Then install Windows your data should not be touched
If you do anything wrong or there is any mishap during the whole procedure you could lose everything

thanksNope. All iTunes content is forever tied to the Apple ID used to obtain it. Such cannot be transferred to another ID.

I have an old IPID touch and just bought a anew Nano. If I downoload the latest version of Itunes for my Nano, will I lose all of my osns stored in my old version of Itunes and can I still use my Touch (with my current songs on it) with the new version of Itunes?
