Will i need a computer to get iphone 5?
my only computer is a PowerBook G5 with OS 10.5.8...specs for iphone 5 says it requires 10.6.8. don't think i can upgrade my old powerbook to anything more. I have iphone 4 and i'm using the cloud for my stuff....can i just use that without having to deal with my laptop

As Steve says there aren't any available for iOS so what is making you so concerned?

I have a 3GS phone that can no longer be upgraded on my Powerbook because it is ancient and the os will only run 10.4.11, consequently iTunes will only upgrade to 9.2.1(4). Please don't answer that i need to upgrade the computer os because that has been a past nightmare i have been through too many times.
Is there any way i can upgrade the phone w/o going to an apple store so hereafter w/ the upgrade to the new os (whenever that gets squared away), i will not need a computer to do it?

donSolved my issue by setting up a new account on my daughter's computer. Not 100% solved, but i was able to get the update on my 3GS.

New computer-keep getting iphone synched with another itunes library
So here's the situation.
I got a new computer the other day and put Itunes on it. I hooked my iphone up to it and authorized my new computer. Seemed like everything was fine, that was until I went into devices and clicked on music. I then went to synch music and then hit apply and get the whole "the device is synched with another itunes/library, do you want to erase the iphone and synch with this itunes library.
I still have my old computer (Which is in pieces on the floor) and realized today that I didn't deauthorize it. Am I in trouble here?As far as your iPhone is concerned, it is a new iTunes Library. Let it go thru it's steps (including making a backup and restoring from the backup) and all should be fine.
You can authorize up to 5 computers, so you are fine if you're under this limit. When you do reach it, you can deauthorise all computers (even without having access to them), then authorize the one you are using. So you are not in trouble here, either.

i dont think i need to save all my apps because they're all free and i can just re-download them from the new phone. Do I need to uninstall this current iTunes for my iPhone 4 and then re-install it again once i get the new phone?

I have my iphone 3GS setup to be able to backup and sync with my computer over wifi. But I want to be able to backup to my sons computer also.
The things is I don't want to have to sync to his computer first to do this. Is there a file or something I can move from my computer that is setup to his that would let his see my iphone over wifi?If you don't have access to the old computer any longer, '''no'''. Unless you were using something like the Google Toolbar & Google Bookmarks or Xmarks, which would have your bookmarks in an online account that you could access. Firefox doesn't include an online storage feature for personal data, yet. That is coming in a future version.
If you have a friend at your old job maybe they have access to that old PC and they could export your bookmarks to a file and email that file to you. -
Icon with Dev Preview running 8.1 - will I need to reset to get the Denim firmware?

You shouldn't need to. I've read some people with 928s or 822s have disable the PFD app, though. That's just a simple check box.
The real question remains. WHEN is this coming. We're in a better position than we were a week ago but still in the dark as to a real date. -

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. First you must uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer, then edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from the hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. I have an iPhone 3gs and will be getting a new iPhone 4s. Once I have updated my existing 3gs with iCloud and backed up to my computer, will I be able to transfer my existing data to my new 4s using iCloud or will I need to do this from my iMac.
ThanksThe Apple genius at the Apple store told me this would work. It failed. Basically, updating your iPhone 3GS to iOS5 wipes your 3GS of its data so you can't really do this. Some data worked. Music, photos etc didn't work at all.
I suggest avoiding iCloud completely for a few weeks until Apple gets it working. -
Upgraded my phone to iphone 6 from iphone 4. My iTunes with all my music is on a computer that no longer works and can't access the music. Will iTunes Match allow me to get my music off of my iphone 4 and put it on my iphone 6? Sorry about copying twice, new to this.
Do you have iTunes match? You need a computer to manage an iTunes match library.

Hi I've just synced my iPhone 5 to my dad's computer to get an album I downloaded on there and it wiped my phone of all of the music and now it will not allow me to get it back how do I get my songs back because every time I comes up with I have to wait 63 days to get it back

Have you tried syncing the iPhone to your computer and restoring from the backup to see if you can get your other songs back? If you purchased the new album with your Apple ID, you should be able to download it to your computer to sync. -
My iphone will not turn on.... it froze earlier today and now it will not turn on all i get is a black screen with the apple symbol every once in awhile... also it will not connect to my computer so i can reset it to factory settings
Sammyhunter lets get you back in action! Has there been any physical/water damage to the device? Try pressing and holding the home and power button together. Once the Apple symbol appears release both buttons. Keep us posted!

I haven't done an update since 24.0 because my computer is running out of memory. How much MORE memory will I need to get up to version 28.0?
My computer is really old.
It is running out of memory.
I haven't done a firefox update since 24.0 because I think it will explode my computer.
I see that v28.0 takes 200MB.
How much more is this than what is already loaded for my v24.0?
Will it just add the extra pieces, or will it require a free block of 200MB (which my computer does not have)?
I don't want to crash and lockup my computer because I try to install something that is too big for the remaining memory.
Thanks.You should updated to Firefox 28, Firefox updates don't take any new space they just replace the existing files.
There are some things you can do to clean up your hard drive to free up space however, http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?p=21178060 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956324, also uninstall programs you don't use anymore and delete files you don't need anymore.
You should also start saving up for a new machine, Windows XP is being dropped from support by Microsoft in a few days, which means it will no longer be safe to use on the internet.
