Will I need to set up an iTunes account again?

HI, my name is Saira and ma'am currently unsure as to whether or not I will need to install and setup iTunes since again. I bought an ipad mini 2 years Argo and I got the stop from which I bought it from to do the settings for me. So they basically installed and set up my iTunes account. I now have an email address and a iTunes account on my ipad and I am now thinking of buying an iphone 5s but I don't know if I'll need to pay the shop to set up or transfer my iTunes account details on my iphone or whether I can do it at home without a computer Since i've already got an iTunes account now. I alsto wanted to ask if iTunes is already downloaded on the iphone or will I have to download it with a computer, which I can't do because I don't have a computer, and for my ipad I paid extra £30 for them to do it. Thank you so much.

There is an iTunes store app pre-installed on all iOS devices, that lets you buy media (music, films etc) from the store.
You should be able to set up the iPhone yourself, and you will be able to use the same iTunes account on it (you can log in and use the same account on multiple devices) - generally it's best to have only the one iTunes account as all purchases are tied to the account that downloaded it, so using just the one account makes it easier to redownload your past purchases (assuming that they are still in the store) on a different device.
There is a getting started guide for new devices here : Get started with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
And you can get an iPhone manual from here (you should be able to copy it into the iBooks app on your iPad) : Apple - Support - Manuals.

No. Restoring your phone does not affect whether your service is active or not.

If the amount of the purchase is close to $21.07, then you need to take into account taxes may be added.
If you go beyond the credit from a gift card the balance will be billed to your credit card account.

  • I just got my daughter a new macbook pro. She currently shares my wires apple id for iTunes on her iTouch. I need to set up an email account for her. Is there any way to set up a new iCloud email account but still use my wires apple id for iTunes?

I just got my daughter a new macbook pro. She currently shares my wifes apple id for iTunes on her iTouch. I need to set up an email account for her. Is there any way to set up a new iCloud email account but still use my wifes apple id for iTunes?

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

  • My wife decided to set up her iPhone on my account and now everything is comingled.  I want to set up an iTunes account for just me. Do I have to set that up on a computer or can I set it up on the iPhone?

iTunes will need to be set up on your computer however you can set up a new Apple ID to use for your iPhone. Really all you need to do is Assign a new Apple ID to your iCloud account.
Follow the link to create a new Apple ID: https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
After you do that, on the device you want to assign a new iCloud account go: Settings > iCloud > Delete Account and then sign in with the new Apple ID.
NOTE: This does not effect iTunes, all of your devices can continue to use one shared iTunes account under your original Apple ID for downloading apps and backups. This simply gives iCloud a place to sync the individual devices information and will stop iCloud form merging all the information, such as contacts, with all of your devices.

  • HT1689 Can I set up an ITunes account without a credit card number?

We are using IPads in a school setting and having trouble setting up the ITunes account without a credit card number.  We are only allowed to download free apps, the school is not paying for any, therefore we do not need to have a credit card for purchases.  Is there a way to get around this so that we can still download the free apps onto the IPads?
    Thank you

If you only want the free apps, take a look here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is  critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)
    Regards.

I have an itunes account.  However, I need to copy music onto a different iPod than my own.  How do I do that?  Do I need to create a separate iTunes account for that iPod?

An account means an iTunes Store account which is an online service.  Do you mean that, or do you mean a library on a computer?
iOS devices can only be synced to one iTunes library at a time.  You can sync that iPod to your account but it will wipe everything currently on it.
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod - http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201253 - detailed example: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18860187#18860187
If you use manual syncing, you can sync items from more than one iTunes library to your iPod. (You can sync iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad with only one iTunes library.) When manually managing content, you can add content from multiple libraries to your iPod or iPad. Even when manually managing music, some content may be available from only one library at time. This includes all content on iPhone and video content on iPod and iPad. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12113  and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1202
I could post another 2 pages of stuff trying to cover every possible scenario.  It would help if you let us know exactly what you want to do.  Are you trying to sync just a few songs (like giving them to a friend which is something iTunes is deliberately set up not to do)?

  • "None" is not an option when setting up new iTunes account

When you google the words, 'itunes without a credit card' the first result is: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534 which says that all you have to do is download a free app, then agree to the terms and conditions and choose your country then....
Select "none" as you payment method.
I've been looking for a solution for this everywhere and I keep finding conflicting reports, but I can tell you with certainty that "none" is not listed when I try this method.
So with that in mind, can anyone tell me how to set up an itunes account (for my daughter if that makes a difference) without entering a credit card? I don't want my daughter to be able to spend hundreds of pounds in the app store.
I am so frustrated by this that I will send £10 paypal to the person who gives me the solution.

My daughter will have to ask me to gift her apps which means I have the control over the spending.
You can get her an iTunes gift card or set up an allowance.
The method that I have described is still useful for people who do not want to associate a credit card with an iTunes account
The method as shown in the article does that also. And your way the user needs an existing iTunes account with a CC linked to it to gift an app.
since for 69p they are able to get around that
The idea is that no CC or money is needed to create an account for free apps (and iTunes artwork).
I have forwarded a suggestion to the forum hosts and asked them to review the article and add to make sure the user logs out when using an iPhone to create a new account (as is shown for the computer).
However, glad you got it all sorted!

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If your son is under 13, then you will need to set up an account for yourself and allow him to use it.

  • I have over 3000 tunes on my itunes account, can i share these with my husband - he has never set up an itunes account

    Thanks for your help.

The second link in ingo's response is key.  If you husband syncs his device on the same computer, whether under the same apple I'd or not, you can share music( each pick their own based on what they want to carry around) and pictures, and apps.
Updating apps can get tricky, as they will only update to the original apple id that bought them.  But music is fine.
You may need to authorize the new computer if he will be using a seperate apple id.  And make sure you don't just sync everything, or one device or the other will get wiped.  If you want to sync only music, they'll that to I tunes in the tab setting for that device.

    No.
One of you create a new AppleID and one use the existing AppleID.
But you can still use the items in each iTunes library.
Create separate computer logins for each of you.
This will give you each your own data. Contacts, calendars, photos, etc. (and your own iTunes library).

  • Is it possible to set up multiple iTunes accounts on a single computer?

is it possible to set up multiple iTunes accounts on a single computer?

If you do it with a single user account, you will receive update notifications for purchase made on both IDs regardless of which one you're using at the time.  That's slightly frustrating as you get the notification BUT you can't actually update!  In any event, separate user accounts on the computer is the cleaner way to go.

  • HT204266 Can I set up different iTunes accounts for family members?

I currently have an iPhone 4 and will be upgrading to an iPhone 5. My wife and daughters also will be getting iPhones and I was wondering how to set up seperate iTunes accounts for them and also how to prevent them form syncing their phones with the address book on our Mac. Thanks.

    Here you go:
How to use multiple iPods, iPads, or iPhones with one computer
Separate user accounts on your Mac would be the best idea IMO.
