Will I still be able to get CS upgrades on DVD?

We live in an isolated rural area in the Sierra with bandwidth limited internet service (which is faster and more reliable in our area than satellite). One upgrade of Adobe Acrobat (940mb) wiped out our bandwidth limit for the month and our service dropped down to dial-up speed. My husband begged to buy more bandwidth, but there's only so much room. I could not download my current version of CS6 and had to get a DVD form Adobe. We don't even have a landline. Cell only.
To get high speed wifi, I must drive to the closest coffee shop about 30 miles away. We will never get high speed internet here. Not in my lifetime anyway.
Does anyone know if Adobe will still offer DVDs of the upgrades to CS? I hope so, because the Cloud probably won't work for most of rural America.
Fingers crossed, Adobe won't abandon its loyal rural users.

You'd have to ask customer service to get any sort of definitive answer, but I suspect if you can tell us which update and platform you need one of us would volunteer to download it and burn to disk for you.

i have an ipod classic and it's in recovery mode. I recently started a new itunes library on my laptop instead of the family computer, but managed to keep all my music. Now it's in recovery mode and it looks like I have no choice but to restore it to factory settings. If I do that, will I still be able to go back to my old computer and get all my albums back on my ipod? I would import my cds onto my laptop but unfortunately it doesn't take discs.

The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music. They have to be in the iTunes library before your restore from iTunes backup.

I have Firefox 3.6 if I upgrade will I still be able to get to my IGoogle page and will I loose my Bookmarks

I have Firefox 3.6 and although and although it works beautifully I am know being told if I dont upgrade it is going to upgrade automatically. I know I will loose the google toolbar but will there still be a button were i can access my Igoogle page and I have everything stored in my bookmarks drop down so I dont have to type it in I just click bookmarks pick which bill I want to pay it takes me to the page and thats it, even access to my bank accounts are stored in bookmarks so I dont want to loose that feature, its quick simple and easy. right know I have my AT&T homepage with Firefox and there is a IGoogle icon I can click on in the toolbar that will take me to my IGoogle home page which I use all the time . Is there a version other than 3.6 were I wont loose these things since I am going to be forced to upgrade from 3.6? Thanks

If you want to set iGoogle as your home page, you can read [[How to set the home page]], tell it to use igoogle, then you should be all set!
Now, are your bookmarks google bookmarks or Firefox bookmarks? firefox bookmarks will still be there, but for Google bookmarks, you have to do a workaround to use them. It is my understanding that if you delete the account per the instructions below, you will be able recreate, but you will NOT have access to the prior BBM contacts.

You have to remember either the BlackBerryID password, or the secret question answer. Without either, you're stuck.
Your choices are:
--Use another email account to create an entirely new BlackBerryID (with which you will lose access to any purchased apps using the "forgotten" first BlackBerryID, or
--Find the initial email you were sent to confirm the initial BlackBerryID, and in it is a link to click to cancel and delete the account. Click on that, delete the account and then you can use that same email to create an entirely new account.

Like i said above, it shouldnt be a problem. If they do look up the serial number and its someone elses name on the account, just let them know that you bought the phone and you would like to have your own information put on the account instead.

You will be able to get your mail on the PowerBook. The calendars (iCal) will not sync; any events added to iPad and/or iPhone will not sync with the Mac but will sync with each other (that is: the mobile devices which are on iCloud). My MacBook Pro (Lion) and iPad2 (iOS5) sync fine; I still get my Mail on iBook G4, MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard) and iMac (Snow Leopard).

Actually, you can in fact restore it or re-activate it using iTunes. A bad ESN just means it can't ne activated for phone service, but it can still be used as a touch. Phones with bad ESN's are not necessarily stolen, if the owner/account holder fails to pay their bill, the carrier will list with a bad ESN.

i was told by employee at the apple store i need to install snow leopard to take advantage of the cloud and sync my itunes to my iphone 4s. mainly use my laptop for design work using illustrator CS2 and cant afford to have it not work properly if i upgrade to snow leopard.
Anyone out there using CS2 through snow leopard on a MacBook Pro that can give me some feedback on this?

iCloud only works with 10.7 Lion according to what I've heard, to get 10.7 you have to upgrade to 10.6.8 then download 10.7 from the MacAppStore. Then only to a 64 bit Intel Mac, no Core Duo's. Also you need 2GB of RAM, but many say you really need 4GB.
CS2 will NOT work on 10.7 for sure, it might not run on 10.5/10.6 neither.
CS2 is rather dated, you'll have to check with Adobe exactly what you can do first, IMMO don't bother.
You won't achieve your goal, so it's best to stay right where you are and run that machine until it drops less you break something.
Next machine you buy, it will be 10.7 and you'll have to buy a new CS5/6 whatever etc.
Also new printers/scanners etc.
Something to plan for, I'd wait for all your software/drivers to be Lion ready first, then wait for the bugs to get out before purchasing a new Mac.

If I upgrade my OS to 10.8, will I still be able to run iWork?

I have an iMac from 2008; my wife just got a new iMac to replace her G-5(!). I am still running OS 10.5.8; she is now on 10.8. It seems to make sense for us to both be on the same OS (doesn't it?), but I don't want to have to spend tons of cash to do so. If I upgrade my OS from 10.5.8 to 10.6 to 10.8, will I still be able to run iWork (specifically Pages and Numbers), or will I have to upgrade the software, too? I also see that OS 10.8 needs 2G of memory, which is all I have. So upgrading memory would be another expense. I'm trying to figure out if I'm better off upgrading this machine,or selling a kidney and getting a new iMac. Any thoughts?

iWork will run fine. 2GB is the minimum. Although it will not have optimal performance, I say it should be OK. I have Lion installed on my MacBook with 2GB and it runs fine, Mountain Lion is not much worse.

- Syncing with iCloud does not move anything from the the iPod to iCloud. Some items like contacts, calendar and some app date gets synced to the cloud continuously.
- If you backup to iCloud it backs up the photos in your iPOd's Camera Roll album. If you delete some of those photos and then backup the previous backup gets overwritten with the changes and thus you can't get them back.
- You can get the last 30 days worth of phtos in the CamerRoll form your PhotoStream

If you activate lock mode, your Mac will be locked the next time it connects to Internet and it has your Apple ID. After being locked, it won't be possible to use it anymore unless you have the passcode. The answer to the question is maybe, but normally, it should be locked the next time it gets connected to Internet if the thief doesn't change the Apple ID
