Will iCloud allow push email like Blackberry?

Will iCloud allow push email like Blackberry (immediately receiving aol email)?

"I don't mean fetch (quickest at 15 minutes) "
Nor do I.  I get push mail immediately and have for years.
"The iPhone does not do that now "
It does indeed do that now, and has for some time.
it is true push now and has been.
Your e-mail provider must support this.

  • Will iCloud sync all email accounts connected to the mail application?

Will iCloud sync all email accounts connected to the mail application?

The questions on mail and MobileMe are ones that I have, too. But another question/issue that I have is the inability for my iPhone to separate calendars for me. I have 2 work calendars and one personal calendar. Plus I have a family calendar. I would really like to be able to look at my calendars on the iPhone and see what I have for personal, family and business. I was able to do this with my old Blackberry.
When I looked at the video for MobileMe, it seemed to accomplish this on the computer (mac or pc) but I don't remember seeing the iPhone give good distinction between different calendars (i.e. syncing different calendars or separating them by colors).
    Any thoughts?

  • Iphone 6Plus will not allow POP email account and cannot print to my wifi printers, I did on my Iphone 5 until I upgraded, can anyone help

Iphone 6Plus will not allow POP email account and cannot print to my wifi printers, I did on my Iphone 5 until I upgraded, can anyone help

I had talked with three people at Apple tech support on the phone, one person in the Apple store in Indianapolis, plus the other places I mentioned. Only the one young man in the Apple store was even able to identify the problem which was the POP vs. IMAP issue. And then like you said he was only able to say he hoped it would be fixed in the next update release. I did call him back this morning and told him about your simple solution, that I had seen it at the Apple forum, and that he might suggest bringing this topic up at the next staff meeting. I also let my Verizon rep know and an agent at Comcast. Something so simple yet it took three days and a lot of frustration to get fixed. Thanks again. You're my hero! ~ Carol Thomas
Also forgot to mention ... I got the iPhone 6 Plus about three weeks ago and did not have this problem. But I did a backup of my iPhone 5S on the computer and then used that backup to restore to my new iPhone. The iPad I did differently and just set it up as a new iPad with no restoring from the old one. That must have made a difference on the phone because it was set up just like the 5S ... as a POP3.

  • I'm using aperture 3 and mobile me to set up galleries which I send to friends. My question. Will icloud allow me to do the same or will i lose this function when mobile me closes down in July.

I'm using aperture 3/mobile me to set up photo galleries which I send to friends. My question. Will icloud allow me to do the same or will I lose this function when mobile me closes down in July. If this function isn't part of icloud does anybody have any suggestions how I can do this in future through aperature. Thank you

You will have to find a new hosting service for your galleries, when MM is gone; but you will still be able to create the galleries with Aperture. Export them to your disk and upload them via FTP to your new hosting service.

  • IPhone email like BLACKBERRY?

I have noticed that the emails on the iPhone are not shown unless you click on the mail app.
Is there something in the settings that i can do to change that and make it appear without me going into the mail (like blackberry)
Being a blackberry user, email was the one thing it had over every other smartphone...this iPhone email is killing me!

Email constantly reaching out to the server to grab new mail is the one thing that will drain the battery more quickly. If you want it to push the mail as soon as it arrives, like your BB you will also have to enable Push. It will decrease your battery life more than Fetch.

  • If you purchase music on your iPod, will iCloud allow you to download it into iTunes?

I want to buy music on my iPod. If I do, will iCloud transfer it to my iTunes account on my PC?

First of all if you are really worried when you connect the phone to your computer go to the device summary page in iTunes and change to manually manage the device so that you are in control of what goes on to it.
A synch will transfer purchased items from device to computer and they are always available to re-download from 'the cloud'.  Once you have the songs on your computer I do suggest that you burn them to CD or back them on to an external hard drive as sometimes items are withdrawn from iTunes so you can no longer re-download.  Indeed the terms and conditions we are all accepting today with the IOS7 update specifies that it is our responsibility to back items up.
So as long as the songs you have already purchased are still available on iTunes, you can download them again should they disappear.

  • Icloud not pushing email

I've been using iCloud since launch and have noticed an issue with email. I've been trying to work out what's up but can't find a solution. It just doesn't seem to be pushing. I don't get email alerts in the message center, or in mail unless I open the app first. In settings it's all set up to push but it just doesn't work.
Anyone else have this issue or a possible solution?

also, like the author of the thread...
im having mad problems with that push...
everytime the mail app is killed the gmail push works flawlessly but the icloud does not work... its not pushing the mails from the server until i use the app and manualy enter the icloud mail... its very frustrating because im depending on it and also i use that mail at my work...
if anyone knows the solution to fix this please let us know...

  • Outlook widget to forward emails like blackberry?

My collegue has just received a Nokia E71 after upgrading from a Balckberry.
With the blackberry, she installed a program on her computer that automatically forwarded the emails received in Outlook to a blackberry address. She could then connect to the blackberry address and access the emails.
My question is, how can I do something similar with the Nokia Pc Suite?
We cannot get her to connect directly to our mail server. We also want the nokia to sync with Outlook when connected to the PC.

For the Auto-forward you'll need to setup intermediate e-mail server (Gmail for example). Then simply auto-forward the emails - no need to install anything, simply use the Outlook filters:
    http://ittraining.lse.ac.uk/Documentation/OnlineGuides/Forward-your-email.htm
...and setup the phone to fetch the mails from Gmail...
    Thus the scheme will be:
    Company POP/IMAP -> Outlook -> GMail -> Phone
This approach is de facto a copy of the Blackberry solution, with the sole difference that the intermediate mailing server is offered by Blackberry.
The syncing can be done - use PC Sync in the Nokia PC Suite... Just connect the phone and start the Synchronize application in the PC Suite window. Then setup the sync itself.
    Ericsson T10i -> Nokia 7110 -> Siemens C45, C55, M55, M65 -> Nokia 6131, N73, N82 -> HTC Wildfire, Desire HD -> Nokia Lumia 800 -> HTC Desire X -> Lumia 820 -> Sony Xperia SP -> Lumia 925 + Sennheiser CX 500

  • HT4597 I want to continue having my PC as the master and my iTouch as the slave in syncing Calendar, photos, music. Will iCloud allow that to happen or will it try to override my newly synced iTouch data with old data in iCLoud?

I want to always sync my iTouch by what is held on my PC, not what is held in iCloud. To me, iCloud is an emergency back up. Will this be able to be done and do I need to do anything in particular to make sure that the data held on the PC, synced to my iTouch, will always take precedence over what is in iCloud? I want to continue to get email, use the internet wirelessly, etc but am worried that iCloud will try to take over. I want the data held by iCloud to be taken from my iTouch and not return old data to my iTouch.

Restoring will not put it back to iOS 5, it will remain on iOS 7. The 'restore from backup' will replace your current content of your iPad (music, apps and their content, films etc) with what was in that backup (the backup picks up your apps, music, films etc from your iTunes library, not from within the actual backup, so you will need those in your iTunes library for the restore to be able to copy them back). If you currently have important documents/photos on the iPad then copy then copy them off first.
There is this page, specifically about iPhones but it applies to iPads as well, about syncing to a new computer : Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

  • HT5622 My wife and I shared an Apple ID, have closed out iTunes on her iPhone and iPad but will not allow her email address to be associated with a new account even though it does not appear anywhere in my information. Any suggestions.

My wife and I shared an Apple ID, I have closed out the iTunes on her iPhone and her iPad. While trying to set up a new iTunes account when I enter her email address it says we have to select a new email address. I have checked and her email is not associated with my iTunes account and really do not want to establish another email account. Any suggestions?

    Hi Stateler74,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  You might be able to find the Apple ID that her email address is associated with by following this article's instructions:

  • ICloud doesnt push Emails!

    Title says all.

Ok, I am going to reply to my own question, as I have spoken to Apple Support about it. The problem is something to do with filters that are on the iMac but not on the iPhone. So, I have disabled the junk folder, and all messages go to my in box. That works.

  • IPhone 3G and Push Email Notifications

    Hello everyone.
Before I got my iphone, I used to own a blackberry, and push email was my main form of communication on it. I cannot begin to describe how amazing push email was on the blackberry - the moment an email was sent to my address my blackberry picked it up right away, I'd say within 10 seconds. Now, I have an iPhone 3G OS 3.1 with mobileme email set up to use push email. I don't know if i'm the only person experiencing this...but push notification my foot... sometimes I don't even get notified of emails until I open the mail app myself and do a manual check. I have mobile me on my iPhone set to push, I have push in the settings menu set to on... I don't know what else to do.
I'd be happy to hear of other peoples experiences with MobileMe push mail on the iPhone. My account expires in two weeks...maybe I'd be better switching to push mail with gmail? I might give that a try this evening.
    Regards
    Seb

Just playing for more hours! Push works lightning fast if you enter anything onto MobileMe, it syncs to Iphone in less than 20 secs, Mail email, contacts and calendar.
The problem is I am using with Entourage 2008 that supposed to sync with Ical and Address Book, this is either not working or coming through ad hoc or taking hours to Iphone, this is not push email like above.
MobileMe is fine as a standalone push system back to Iphone, but what about me using Entourage to manage all my mailboxes and data to iphone.

  • E72 Battery Drain while on Push Email

When I first bought the E72; I used POP3 mail for my Gmail account; but I re-setup my email account again using the IMAP and Nokia Messenging option. Now the mail is checked much more often and it is a bit like Push email on Blackberry (while lacking many things though). However; the strain  on my battery is very intense!
Before I could have the E72 and use Phone talk time (2 hours), All day email, all day SMS, at least 30minutes of web browsing, and even some GPS for almost 36 hours.
But now; Im lucky if the battery lasts even more than 8-10 hours. I installed the Nokia Energy profiler and realized my average use is around 1W  while doing nothing andeven lower on Standby. However every 10 minutes or so the usage spurts up to 2W+ and it is because of the automatic email checking. Is this normal? During web browsing; it shoots to 2.5-3.0W. Is that normal?
I am guessing the big difference in battery life is because of the push email right? Because I always close my web browser and every other program. It is only the email that automatically goes online; everything else needs my permission.
Any tips about this? I don't mind charging everyday; but I just want to know if this is normal; or if my system is setup wrong. I know it is not the battery problem because when I was using POP3; it was much better.
Today the battery would not even charge to full at all; I had to turn off Sync Updates for email in order for it to completely charge! I wantemail for sure; but I guess I can live with POP3 if that is the ONLY way toincrease battery life. But Push email is still what I would like to use the most.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, instead of making the messaging connect every 10 min, you can experience real push mail like blackberry concept. In terms of battery.. not much of different. Open an account for your push mail service and http://email.nokia.com

Apple ID has my old email address. It will not allow me to change the address and will not accept my password or ID questions.   I recently upgraded to OSX Yosemite 10.10.1.  I also have an Apple ID that works with iTunes and would like to keep it as my primary.

To change the iCloud ID on your devices you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted (if using iOS 7), then sign back in with your current ID.
If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, you will have to temporarily recreate it in order to delete the existing account.  To do this, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
