Will icloud work with Leopard 10.5?

Will iCloud work with Leopard 10.5 running on a mini?

Hi there, depends what you want. Lon/10.7.x is neeeded for full support on the Mac.
You can view everything in any Broweser, but you can't Sync anything other than setting up an iCloud IMAP account...
iCloud Mail setup...
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
          ▪          Server name: imap.mail.me.com
          ▪          SSL Required: Yes
          ▪          Port: 993
          ▪          Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
          ▪          Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
          ▪          Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
          ▪          SSL Required: Yes
          ▪          Port: 587
          ▪          SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
          ▪          Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
          ▪          Password: Your iCloud password
From here on out, unless you're dependent on the latest iDevices I'd look elsewhere for solutions, understandably Apple is looking out for Apple, but what I don't understand is how long they can ignore user's needs.

In addition to Roger Wilmut1's excellent advice regarding iCloud Mail you can use Soho Organizer on Leopard for iCloud contacts and calendars as well. Soho Organizer will subscribe to iCloud giving you access to contacts, calendars and tasks, unfortunately it's $99.00, but it works extremely well. (good enough to justify the $99 even if you have Lion)

when will iCloud work with outlook 2013?

I have been running Outlook 2013 for a couple of weeks now using W8 64bit.
It works with iCloud and is a little flakey, what I've found.
    1. 4 X Junk Folders.
    2. Some emails cannot be moved into saved folder, saying message has changed, but opening in outlook safe
        mode allows move.
    3. Sent Items (this computer only) and Sent Messages, so you have to move emails from Sent Items to Sent
Messages if you want them to sync across devices.
    4. Icloud control panel say's there is a problem and not syncing but it is no problem.
I can live with the bugs, but I wish the last icloud update would have corrected the issues.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
iCloud is only compatible with the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and PC > http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup
However, if you have an iCloud account, you can set up mail on the tablet with these servers or from http://www.icloud.com

  • Will iCloud work with first generation Apple TV?

I noticed on iTunes that iCloud works with Apple TV using software 4.3.3.  My first generation unit says it is up to date with its software, 3.0.1.  Does this mean I won't be able to use iCloud with my existing Apple TV?

So what do we do, just run to the Apple Store and buy a new "second" generation Apple TV to take advantage of iCloud and all these new wonderful features? iShould have learned when I early adopted a Bluray player.
    - OS X Lion $29
    - Apple TV $99

  • ATI Radeon 9600 Mac & PC Edition will not work with leopard

When I installed a new ATI Radeon 9600 Mac & PC Edition, 256MB; my Dual 2 GHz G5 (June 2004) will not allow me to drive my Apple Cinema Display while running under leopard, (neither 10.5.1 or 10.5.2 with Leopard Graphics Update).
The mac starts up as usual and gets to the white screen with Apple logo -then the progress ring eventually stalls. The mouse pointer becomes visible and can be moved freely around this screen.
I can connect from other macs on the network and navigate files, but screen sharing results in an all black window.
The Radeon 9600 works fine if I start up the mac with the Tiger installation disk.
I have tried every suggestion that I could find on these boards and elsewhere: zapped the pram, reset the SMU, installed older ATI Drivers, etc...
Of course the G5 is far out of warranty. I've been running Leopard since the day it shipped - so that's out of warranty now, and there is little help to be found on the ATI/AMD website. I'm afraid I'll have to return the card before Apple releases another graphics update.
The stock graphics card that came with this mac is the nVIDIA 64MB GeForce FX 5200 - but it's having trouble keeping up with Leopard's demands - my isight barely works, most special effects in iChat and PhotoBooth are unusable, and of course I'm not given the option to use a transparent menu bar,
I am really good at swapping video cards in the G5 now - but I'm so frustrated.
Does anyone else have any suggestions?
    thanks

  • Will iCloud work with a suspended line?

My brother suspended my line before I got the chance to use iCloud, will it work if my line is suspended?

Sorry I assume that you had the phone with you.  Am I understanding  this correctly that your phone is now lost or stolen and your trying to find it using find my iphone?
If you didn't enable find my iphone in icloud, prior to losing it you won't be able to trace it.
You can't use cellular data, if your line is susupend.
You can go to icloud.com and log in, and use the find my phone ap - but no gurantee this will work as
    1. you didn't enable FMP in icloud
    2. your phone isn't connected to wifi

  • Will iCloud work with office for mac

If i'm reading the blurb on the website correctly i can only get to see an Microsoft office word document on iCloud if i email it.
    Is this correct.
I want to use Office for Mac but be able to see and edit or finish the document on my iPad and iPhone.
    Is this possible with iCloud

There are options out there other than iCloud for
cloud storage and syncing (and also not as limited).
Dropbox is one choice.  If working with Windows
computers as well, One Drive is very good option
    (especially with Win8).

Partitioning is a personal thing. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to partition a
hard drive. Whether you prefer to bust up your disk into multiple, smaller
partitions, or leave it as a single, monster-sized partition, that's entirely up to
    you.

In either case, no one can claim that you did anything wrong. Because your strategy
depends on what works best for you.
Exceptions: Hard drives that will be dedicated solely for video capture, or digital
media are best partitioned as a single, large partition.
Multiple Operating Systems: If you're going to install multiple operating systems
on the same physical disk, you must create a separate partition for each O/S.
    Advantages of Multi-Partition Drives
Advantage #1: A hard drive containing multiple partitions allows you to lower your
drive's effective access time, providing you with a more responsive system.
If you create a partition at the outer/leading edge of your drive and install your
operating system & applications there and use the inner/slower parts of the disk
for storing files that don't require access during normal system operating, you'll
restrict your drive's seeks to the fastest part of the drive.
The first partition you create on a drive will automatically take the leading
(fastest edge). In other words, the drive's read/write heads won't have to seek
to the far end of the drive. This will provide you with a more responsive system by
decreasing the drive's effective access time.
A drive with a larger capacity will notice a more dramatic truncating effect. For
    example, 8 gigs is roughly 40% of a 20-gig drive. But it's less than 1% of a
320-gig drive. In other words, you can limit your drive's travel seeks to the fastest 1% of
a 320-gig drive by creating an 20-or 25-gig partition and storing only your
    operating system & applications there.
It's common knowledge that a drive with the same amount of data will 'feel' more
responsive on a larger drive than a smaller one, even though both drives may have
    the same performance specs.
This is because the data on the larger drive will be limited to a smaller area.
This is also one of the reasons why larger drives feel faster, even though they
have the exact same specs as the smaller one. It's because the larger drive has a
lower effective seek time. Faster linear velocity means that more data passes under
the read/write heads per unit time.
If you have only a single large partition, your program files will wind up being
spread out all over your hard drive as you continue to download and install program
updates. There is no way to stop this from occurring.
Each time you launch a program, your heads will have to seek all over the drive,
including to the far/slow end to retrieve these files, slowing down your system.
Advantage #2: The main reason many people prefer a drive with multiple partitions
over one with only a single large partition is because having a separate system
partition, containing only your operating system and programs, allows you to
reformat your system partition and reinstall OS X without losing all the data on
    the drive.
Advantage #3: A drive with multiple partitions allows you to defrag only those
partitions that actually need defragging. This saves wear and tear on your drive,
and may even help keep it from failing prematurely. A small partition can be
defragged in the time it takes to eat a sandwich. OS X will not defrag files
    over 20MB or non-system files.
