Will imac 2008 model monitor work with the imac pro

Will my imac 2008 model work as the monitor for the imac tower.

There is no iMac tower.  Your other iMac cannot be used as a monitor.  This is a feature that wasn't introduced until the more recent iMac models.

  • Does anyone have drivers that will enable a Tascam US-144 (old model) to work with the latest version of Lion?

Hi, does anyone have drivers that will enable a Tascam US-144 (old model) to work with the latest version of Lion? The drivers available on the manufacturer's download site are for a newer model and were not designed specifically to work with Lion. Does anyone have a tried and tested fix for this? Thank you.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
    NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

  • What larger monitors work with the 15" vga G4 iMac

What larger monitors work with the 15" vga G4 iMac?

It is not so much how large but rather a question of resolution and how it would look on a larger monitor than the original.
All iMac G4 15-inchers supported: 640x480; 800x600; and 1024x768 at a fixed 4:3 ratio--no provision for widescreen. The old rule of thumb for decent clarity for 4:3 ratio CRT monitors was:
    15-inch monitor supports 640x480
    17-inch supports 800-x600
    19 to 20 inch supports 1024x768
I believe you would find the same issues with an older 4:3 flat-panel monitor.
Also the iMacs can only mirror the resolution set on the built-in monitor so you can't have the external one set differently nor use it for extended desktop. If you set the built-in to 640x480 (would look nice at 15 inches) you are going to get 640x480 on the external regardless of how big it is. On a 19-20 incher, 640x480 could start to look pixelated.

  • Does Microsoft Entourage 2008 for mac work with the new Mac OS X v 10.7 Lion

Does Microsoft Entourage 2008 for mac work with the new Mac OS X v 10.7 Lion?
I am just about to install Lion just need to check to see if if my work e-mail will work

    Sarah,
    Check this link:
    http://roaringapps.com/app:2533
It contains some issues that people have encountered with Lion and Office 2008. It appears it can work, but you may have to go through some of the steps a few of the posters there have listed.
That website also contains a pretty large list of applications and if they will work with Lion.
Hope this helps! (I am not affiliated in any way with the site linked).

  • Will an Infra-Red Adapter work with a macbook pro retina display so I can use the apple TV remote for presentations?

I have always used the apple TV remote for my presentations.  I bought a retina display last year for the betterment of my presentations and now I have to stand near my computer and hit a button to change my slides where as before I used my remote.  Will a infra-red adapter work with the apple TV remote in the macbook pro retina display?  Love my computer, but very disappointed not to have a remote for presentations that does not need the internet.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Yes, I used that and it works great if you have wireless connection.  Im looking for  a remote that worked like the apple TV remote.  My questions is, "Is there a USB infra-red remote that works with mac.  I have found this one: Keyspan EZ1 easy presenter.  It claims with works with PC and Mac and the reviews are good.  Does anyone know anything about it or if it works with retina display macs?

  • Will Most Windows Peripherals work with the MAC Pro?

Im considering getting a MAC Pro... Unfortunately, I just invested on 2 PCI-E graphics cards (256 MB each)... will they work with the MAC Pro? Will apple sell me a MAC Pro with little options?

Only PCIe cards with EFI type BIOS, so no. They will work in Windows just fine, just not in OS X.
The stock configuration is fine and probably ideal anyway with the Nvidia 7300 GT, though most would recommend Radeon X1900 XT
There is only one 16x lane slot.
you might want to wait until Apple 'refreshes' the one year old Mac Pro line, either in the fall or wait until January MacWorld SF show. (eventually AMDs and Nvidia's latest offerings due later this year have a 99.999% chance of being adopted in some form).

  • Will Adobe indesign cs6 books work with the adobe indesign creative cloud version?

Will Adobe indesign cs6 books work with the adobe indesign creative cloud version?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think, this question is a very good one.
If I have a *.indb document created in CS6, populated with InDesign documents from CS6, what to do, if I want to migrate my workflow to the latest version of InDesign CC-2014?
Short answer (avoiding trouble and headaches):
    1. Convert all your InDesign documents from CS6 to CC-2014 (*)
    2. Use NEW document file names for all your CC-2014 InDesign file types: *indd, *indt, *indl
    3. Build your *indb documents for CC-2014 anew.
    4. Use NEW document file names for CC-2014 InDesign file type: *indb
But isn't that a tedious task to do?
Yes. But fortunately there are some scripts around helping you with the conversion process.
    See Peter Kahrel's website. Especially:
Free script Batch convert/export InDesign documents | Peter Kahrel
    There are others as well…
    Uwe
*Before migration of the workflow batch export all InDesign CS6 documents to IDML and PDF.

  • Will an onboard garaphic card work with the lates version of photoshop or do I have to have a dedicated graphic card

Will an onboard graphic card work with the lates version of photoshop or do I have to have a dedicated garphic card

Most likely you should be fine.  Some of the early i7s might not support it (did the first i7 core have integrated GPU?), but any of the last couple are fine.  The nice thing is, that you can always add an aftermarket GPU if you need to, so give it a shot.
I have a Haswell i7 (4770k) in my desktop PC, and it's more than enough.  I did a lot of research when I built my PC and my conclusion at the time was that a GPU doesn't offer a sizable performance boost unless you buy a really nice GPU ($400+).  The integrated GPU can run all the functions of CS6.
My laptop is an older i5.  Not sure which, but I think Sandy Bridge.  I can notice the difference in process times between the integrated GPU and discrete (AMD).  But only on certain heavy filters and when working with big composites (~2 gb files).  But that's an i5 and and older one.  That said, the integrated GPU is far more stable, so I usually just put up the lag instead of having the AMD GPU crash my computer.

  • Will an A1082 monitor work with the current laptops?

I'm thinking about getting a new laptop and have an A1082 monitor.  Will it work with the new laptops?  I haven't decided which laptop I'm getting yet.

Here's some information that may help:

  • Would these Viewsonic Monitors work with the Mac Mini?

do I need to buy any type of cable?   the conectors it has are
    15-pin mini D-sub (VGA) / HDMI (x1) , HDMI/MHL (x1)

    Those monitor's will work fine.
One will connect to the Mac Mini's HDMI output port using the supplied HDMI cable.
For the other you will need either a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter or better yet a Mini Display Port to HDMI adapter.

    http://store.apple.com/us/product/HFQL2VC/A/moshi-mini-displayport-to-hdmi-adapt er-4k
Either will work for the second monitor, but personally I would go with the (Digital) HDMI adapter instead of the (Analog) VGA adapter.

  • Will a Classic Wall Charger work with the Nano?

I currently have an ancient fourth generation black and white ipod classic.
I have been looking at getting the newer nanos. Will the wall charger that came with the classic work with the nano, or will I have to buy a new one?

Should work. It may not if the old charger is USB and the new iPod requires that the data lines be set to a specific configuration and the old charger doesn't do that (many older iPod chargers only hook up the two power lines and not the two data lines). It will not damage the iPod to try it and see. At worse it will do nothing at all.
Same if the old charger is a Firewire model. It might work, it might not work, it won't damage it to try it.
    Cheers,
    Patrick

  • Will a external Apple iSight work with the latest Mac Mini?

with a firewire 400-800 if it will what software do i need to take pictures and videos.
    Many Thanks

Will a external apple isight work with the latest mac mini.
Yes (if the external iSight works.)
External iSights are great webcams, but they are getting old (as consumer electronics go) and some have had pretty rough treatment. You can test yours using the suggestions from this page:
      http://www.ralphjohns.co.uk/EZJim/EZJimpage4.html
I suggest you disconnect other Firewire devices until you get your external iSight working with your mini.
If you do not already have an external iSight and are considering buying one now,
a new webcam (with warranty) may be a better choice.
Many available alternatives are listed here: http://www.mac-compatible-web-cam.com/

Use one of the following ways to connect your FW400 external iSight to a FW800 Mac port:
    • To use the FW400 6pin-6pin cable that comes with iSight, you can use a 6pin-9pin adapter
      like one of these:
      http://tinyurl.com/ydsbb6m  (I use this one.)
      http://tinyurl.com/cgll7o
      http://www.sonnettech.com/product/fw_adapter.html
    • This Firewire 400-800 cable can work:
      http://store.apple.com/us/product/TP320LL/A (I use this one.)
    • Some report that this low-priced alternative cable works:
      http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812189097
I suggest you disconnect other Firewire devices until you get external iSight working with your mini. Once iSight works when it is the only FW connected device, you can try connecting other Firewire devices to determine whehter you can use any of them without conflict.
... if it will what software do i need to take pictures and videos.
With your 10.6.3 mini, you can use QuickTime X, iChat, Photo Booth, iMovie, and some of the other apps that are installed with OS X. Your Mac's Help for each of these apps can tell you how to use them with iSight (or other connected cameras.)
Some more apps you can use are shown in this list:
      http://www.ralphjohns.co.uk/EZJim/EZJimpage7.html
The web links for each app gives details on what functions is offers with your webcam.
    Many Thanks
    You're welcome.

  • Will xCode  4.3.3 work with the AE SDK?

I'm very new to this and trying to get my feet wet. I'm using xCode  4.3.3. Will this work with the SDK? Also, are there any xCode users that might help get me started?
    Thanks, Bob

I have the latest Xcode (4.4) I think on MacOS Lion (not Mountain Lion yet) and I can't remember having much problems with the AE SDK examples or my own plugins regarding compilation. Xcode will automatically update and download the latest Apple-SDKs when needed.
I had some problems when "full optimisation" was switched on, then I had to change the compiler from LLVM to GCC in the settings, but that seems to be a quite common topic.
Anyway, start with the examples from the SDK and the included Xcode projects, it should work fine...
