Will InDesign load on a Windows 8.1 machine?

I had a meltdown of my win 7 machine. And of course trying to buy a new copy of win7 is near impossible, so I stupidly bought 8.1 to just get it over with. Tried to reload my Indesign 7.5. put int he code, OK. but it was an upgrade version so then I had to go run around and find my old pagemaker code. put that in. OK, THEN I had to figure out why my adobe account was screwed up (seems their emails to me vanish and they cannot figure out why). finally figured out password and got in.
InDesign starts to install from the disk. then hangs. tried a second time and got a long page of errors.
support (working on my vanishing email issue said they cannot even tell me if 7.5 will run on win 8 as that is a "technical issue and they will only support the latest version"
Adobe is fast looking to lose me as a customer for the future.
in case anyone can figure this out- here's the error messages I get

When I double click on the AA9 icon to initiate installation, it whirls away for a while then asks if I want to allow "this program to make changes to his computer?" I click Yes and it begins to process again for a few minutes. Then it displays the following Invalid Unicode file error message...and simply stops processing or installing. In that last process, it also reaches out for whatever reason and activates the magnifier tool in Windows.
I have thought that perhaps upgrading to a higher version of Windows might help, but who knows for sure?
P.S. – This is a brand new HP Pavilion dv6 series computer that is more than adequate to this task.

HT1386 iTunes will not load on my windows XP computer

To Whom It May Concern:
I have a laptop that runs windows XP Pro, and my iTunes is corrupted to the point it will not load and I can not sync my iPad. I reloaded iTunes and it can not complete a full reinstall, because my files are corrupted. I would like to a completed de-install however I don’t want to loss my backup files.
Can someone give me some suggestions regarding what I need to do?

First try:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Then try moving the backup to a safe place and then rebuild your computer amd backup up your Tunes library.
Windows XP:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.

Disk Drive will not load up my Windows 7 Installation Disk. Spits it out within 5 tries.

Hello,
Today, I bought myself a Windows 7 64-bit Installation disk so I can put Windows 7 via Bootcamp. However, everytime I insert the disk, my iMac will make strange noises. For example; first it will try to load the disk but then shuts down. It will start up again but then fails again. This will happen for about 5 tries and then it will eject the disk out.
I have tested different types of CDs after this problem occurred and I have mixed results. I have tried my old Vista 32bit installation disk which had worked before perfectly but now it will not load. I tried my mother's Windows 7 disk and that doesn't work. I have tried a DVD movie (The Simpsons Movie first thing I saw) and that loaded fine. I tried my OSX Install disk and that loaded up fine.
Could this problem be fixed by myself easily or do I need to visit an Apple store/repair store and ask them about the issue? My warranty ran out around 2 years ago.
Here are my specs:
iMac Model: Mid 2010
Processor: Intel i3
Processor Speed: 3.06Ghz
Ram: 8GB

Flash 10. will not install on my Windows 7 Professional machine (64 bit)

II cannot install Flash 10.* on my Windows 7 Professional machine (64 bit). I have uninstalled whatever remnants of an earlier version might have been on the machine. I have tried using various browsers for the installation (Explorer, Firefox, Chrome). I have tried using “Square” as part of the installation. And I have tried “Manual”.
Any suggestions?

What do you mean by "cannot install"? Does the installer give you any indication that says your computer is not supported?

Safari will not load pages on Windows 7

when i open safari, it doesn't load anything at all, i tried turning what proxies i had off, uninstalling and reinstalling and everything else i can think of. Please help and thanks in advance

Go step by step by step and test.
1. Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
    Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
    Restart the computer.
    Start up in Safe Mode.

2. Delete Caches.db
    Close all windows and quit all applications.
    Hold "option" key down and click "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
    Select "Library" from the dropdown.
    Library > Caches > com.apple.Safari > Caches.db
    Right click the Caches.db file and select "Move To Trash.
    Close windows and relaunch Safari.
3. Empty Caches
    Safari > Preference > Advanced
    Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
    Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
    Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
4. Delete Cookies
    Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
    Click the “Details” button.
    Remove all cookies except from Apple, your internet service provider and banks.
5. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
    Turn off Extensions if any and launch Safari again to test.
    Turn on those one by one and test.

ITunes 11 will not load properly when Windows 7 starts

Hi Everyone,
I'm running Windows 7 64bit, iTunes 11. I successfully ran iTunes 10 on this PC previously.
iTunes is configured to launch when Windows boots. What happens is that it does start, and then the 'Checking iTunes Library' message appears for a few seconds. iTunes appears on the Task Bar during this period. The 'Checking.." message disappears, and then so does the icon in the Task Bar.
When I check Task Manager iTunes appears on the Processes tab in the Image Name list as: iTunes.exe *32, so it is loading, but there is no GUI interface available.
If I kill the task manually, and then start iTunes from the shortcut everything works fine.
Here is what I have tried to do to resolve this:
1) run msconfig and disabled Apple Push
2) removed and reinstalled Apple Quicktime (after downloading latest version)
3) unchecking all other start processes in msconfig to see if iTunes would load (it did not)
I have not found other suggestions so I figured I should post this and see if anyone else has some advice on how to get iTunes to load properly when I boot my computer.
Here are some details on the computer:
MB - Asus PZ77-VPro
CPU - i7-3770K @ 3.5GHz
RAM - 32 GB
VC - nVidia GForce GTX-670
C: HD - 120 GB solid state drive (this is where itunes is intalled)
E: HD - 2GB Raid 0 (this is where the itunes database has been installed)
I would appreciate your help after a morning of unsuccessful troubleshooting.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

CS3 will not load past registration window

Suddenly today, trying to open CS3 I get blank registration window which it will not go beyond.
The application is there in the background but everything is greyed out. I must say I am not sure I have ever filld inal the registration details, I have just always pressed the 'later' button.
I must have had CS3 for years now – is it trying to force me to upgrade?
Anyone know how I can fix it?

V 1.1.2. Video IPOD Will Not Load onto my Windows XP Computer

So here's the dealio, I've had this Ipod Video for some time. It worked just fine on my original computer but when I got a new and more recent computer, it doesn't even register on the Ipod that it's being connected to the computer. It does however charge through the computer,which doesn't make sense to me. When I plug it through the chord that came with the Ipod to the computer, there is a ring but nothing else. It isn't on My Computer file, doesn't bring up the new hardware option and when I even try to use the CD that came with it, it comes to the "Please plug in your Ipod now." and I do but nothing happens, same ordeal happens too.
Summary:
1. It doesn't show on the Ipod that it's connected to the computer
2. It does charge
3. It can't even be used through the CD
4. The Add New Hardware option doesn't pop up when it is plugged in.
5. The "ding" does sound when it is plugged in.
6. It did work with my other computer.
Can anyone help me?

You have three mail programs, none of them load images in mail. There is very little question the problem is external to the mail programs, quite possibly some security or speed enhancing tool.

Cannot access address book contacts in yahoo mail. Firefox 4. Contacts list will not load. With Windows Explorer, no problem.

Recently, yahoo mail upgraded their program. When I try to access my contacts (address book) the contacts list won't load. The little spinning icon just keeps spinning. I think this is a Firefox problem because Internet Explorer works okay. Also, I have problems accessing some secure sites using Firefox 4, but not with Explorer. I prefer Firefox. I have no access to my Yahoo contacts. I cannot search or browse them. The only way I can get ONE is by adding the contact from an email. Then, if I ask to see more contacts either through the partial alphabet buttons or to see the entire list of contacts, I'm back to the same search page where NOTHING happens. W540 will not load from SSD, need help

I just bought a W540 (windows 8) and extra SSD to replace the original HD in W540.
I have created a recovery image in windows 8 to my 16G USB flash and disabled intel rapid storage.
I put the new 512G Crucial MX100 SSD into the machine, and use USB flash drive to reset the laptop.
After the reset process was finished, I took out the USB flash drive, but the laptop will not load windows from my SSD, and the laptop did detect my SSD.
I am wondering if I did something wrong? I took out the SSD and put it in to my desktop, and I did see files were written into the SSD, but W540 will not load it,

It does not give any info if the Recovery Media actually formats the drive in GPT mode, which is required for UEFI boot, in which case you might have to re-format your new SSD and re-install it with your recovery USB, which you're probably required to boot in UEFI mode as well. I have only installed Windows 8 in UEFI mode with an original retail DVD, and to achieve that I had to boot the DVD in UEFI mode.

Helps if I give the correct link ! <br/>The press shift button appears to still work, but the option to start in safe mode from the programs listing of a standard install I do not think exists anymore.
Safe mode will start from a command line, (or a shortcut) and in some circumstances you may need to enter the full path name on a command or shortcut detailed instructions are at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
Remember (at least at this stage) do not make changes when you get the options list, just click on the continue button.
If you think that RealPlayer is causing the problem you could uninstall that for now.
Firefox recent versions are 3.6 4.0 (and 5.0 in beta). There is some debate as to whether creating new profiles or re-installing Firefox is the simplest method of troubleshooting and solving some of these problems, personally I use multiple profiles and multiple versions of Firefox, and tend to forget the required procedures are less than straightforward. For now at least try [[safe mode]] again.
