Will iPad 3 case fit an iPad 4

I am giving an ipad 4 for Christmas. Will an ipad 3 case fit an ipad 4?

Yes!  I use one.
Note the dock connectors are different sizes, with the iPad 4 being smaller than the iPad 3.  So if your case has some special provision for the dock connector, that may be a factor.
But the devices are the same size.

Will the new iPad cases fit on an IPad 2?

It appears that it only fits the new iPad. Here is the description page. Go down to the lower left corner where it talks about compatibility.

  • Will an iPad case fit the new iPad Air 2

Will an iPad case fit the new iPad Air 2? I found a charging case for an iPad but it doesn't specifically say for iPad Air 2.

No, it will be too large.

  • Will the standard iPad case fit the the iPad Air or is there a specific type case for the iPad Air?

Will the standard iPad case fit the the iPad Air or is there a specific type case for the iPad Air?

The air is different dimensions from other iPads, so look for cases made specifically for it. I know that Targus has some, so does Zagg and i'm sure other manufacturers do as well.

  • Does the original iPad case fit the new iPad (2012)

Hello Folks..Does the original iPad case fit the new iPad? I am looking for a case but haven't been happy with the choices so far...Has anyone tried the original iPad case on the new iPad? if so, how is it?
    Thanks!!

    Here's the thicknesses: iPad 1 - 0.5", iPad 2 - 0.34", iPad 3 - 0.37"
So an iPad 3 would fit loosley in an iPad 1 case. However, the iPad 1 doesn't have a camera, so no camera hole in the case. The iPad 3 camera opening in the case may need to be somewhat larger than the iPad 2 camera hole. Unless it's form fitting, I think most iPad 2 cases may fit the iPad 3, but it may be tight.
For my iPad 2, I bought an Adesso case/keyboard model WKB-2000CD http://www.adesso.com/en/component/content/article/49-coming-soon/455-wkb-2000cd .html Works great & looks good. The keyboard is easier to use than Apple's on-screen keyboard. Do a Google search using the model number to get the best price. About the same price as Apple's covers & it covers the whole iPad. Although the new iPad  is slightly thicker, it should fit this case.

  • Will iPad 2 silicone cases fit new iPad (3rd gen)?

I have preordered the new iPad and would like to have a case ready for it when it arrives next week.  I was looking on eBay and they have soft silicone cases for iPad 2 and I was wondering if they would fit the new iPad.  They have some stretch so I don't think it would be a problem, but I would like to hear some opinions.  Thanks.

I'm a case ho. I try them all. We're talking a 0.6 mm difference in depth. I just looked at a ruler to see how small 0.6 mm really is. Not much.
I'm sure some cases will fit without a hitch. Any case with really tight tolerances will probably have problems. Only time will tell. When My iPad 3 arrives, I've got several cases from the iPad 2 to try out.

  • Will this iPad 3 case fit my ipad 2?

    Hello!
I've been looking at iPad 2 cases and this one seems to be perfect for my uses. However, it is labeled as an iPad *3* case (or well, The New iPad), and I was wondering if it would still fit my 2. I understand the iPad 3 is deeper than the iPad 2, but I've had trouble finding all the specifications on this issue.
The diminsions of the case are:
    0.6 x 9.5 x 7.4 inches
    The Amazon link is:

Any help would be spectacular, thank you, Internet.

It will but its gonna be lose....right now i have a ipad 2 case on my ipad 3 and it fits but a little tight...but it still fits...:D......but yea it should fit

  • Will an iPad 2 case fit the iPad Air?

    http://25.media.tumblr.com/1d643432b1a1e8292fcdd678a596f40d/tumblr_myzzoaFaMo1re kivco1_400.jpg
I want that case for the iPad Air, but it just dawned on me it might not fit. Will it, or do I need to find another case?

iPad 2 is wider and thicker. A case for it will not fit properly with the iPad Air.

  • Would an ipad 2 case fit an ipad 3rd gen?

I Have an ipad 3rd gen and I am having trouble finding a case for it. Would an ipad 2 case fit it, I found an expensive case which said it would fit an ipad 3rd gen, ipad 2 2nd gen and iPads with retina display. I'm a bit confused.
    thanks Susie

    Yes
There's really no such thing as iPad 1 third gen
I'ts iPad (what became iPad 1 once the 2 came out)
    iPad 2
iPad 3 (which was only sold less than a year)
    iPad 4
    iPad Air (5th gen)
iPad Air 2 (6th gen, although it's rarely referred to as such)
iPad 1, 2 and 3 are pretty much the same. (except for the thickness which I think was to accommodate a different battery) iPad 4 is where the lightning connector came into play. iPad Air and Air 2 had some major size changes.
Your case might fit, it all depends on what kind of case it is. If it's a close fitting silicone or hard case, then likely not. if it's a portfolio kind where you slide your iPad into a sleeve or space in a case then it might. Those are the most forgiving of cases and the extra couple of millimeters in thickness are usually able to slide by.
Depending on where you found the case, if the place has a good return policy you can always give it a try and return it if it doesn't work well.

  • Would iPad Mini cases fit the iPad mini 2?

Probably sounds silly as they are virtually the same and no difference in size or dimensions were mentioned but I compared iPad models and the iPad Mini 2 is thicker by 0.3mm. Now this might sound miniscule but cases are made to fit perfectly and I'm afraid even 0.3mm would make a difference in using a case? Am I paying too much attention or should I get cases specifically said to be compatible with iPad Mini 2?

I think it depends. If you're looking for a tight fitting snap case then you may want to look for Mini 2 cases specific, or get it from a place with a good return policy. If it's a portfolio case or a silicone case you should be fine because they  have more wiggle room.
i've found that some retailers don't care if you 'try it on' in the store, you just have to ask for their help or be very careful when you open the packaging so that it is still resellable.
I have a Touch 5 and have found that iPhone 5 cases fit it, the bits of millimeters in difference doesn't pose a problem (Biggest issue I have is buttons being in different places, not case size)

  • Will iPad3 cases fit the new iPad4 (besides the obviously smaller lightning connector)?

Just wondering if there are any physical differences between the devices (size, thickness, button/jack/speaker placement, etc.) that would prevent me from using an iPad 3 case on a new iPad 4 (aside from the smaller lightening connector)?
Thank you for your replies and assistance :-)

Yes, the iPad 3 case will fit the iPad 4.

  • Will the ipad 3 case fit the ipad 4

  • What is best iPad case for new iPad?

I have a cover that works the on/off but have tried a cygnet cover that doesn't activate the on/off.  I need more protection for travel and wanted a case instead.

A case is a very personal choice, and there are many to choose from.
I have the Executive Leather case from Yoobao.  You can get them here:
    http://kevikev.com/Yoobao-Executive-Leather-Smart-Cover-Case-for-New-Apple-iPad- 3-YBNEWIPADEX.htm
It's made of leather and comes in 6 colors.  The cover works the sleep/wake function, and the case provides substantial protection to all sides of the iPad.  The cover portion can also function as a stand.  It's also thin, so it does not add any additional bulk to the iPad itself.  Highly recommended.

  • Will hard case fit inside incase leather pouch?

After getting a few scratches on my ipod, I've ordered Ice Creme to clean them off and Martin Fields to protect against further damage. Right now, I have an incase leather pouch, but I'd like a hard plastic case that completely covers the ipod all the time (I think I've gotten a lot of scratches just from sliding the ipod in and out of the case). I've read a lot on the forums and am torn between Agent 18, iskin, and PodsPlus. Does anyone know if any of these would fit inside the incase pouch? I like clipping the incase to my belt while listening to the ipod, but want something for screen protection while I'm watching.
I really have done my research on the forums, but I'm still torn. If none of these three will fit inside the incase, which do you think offers the best overall protection (from scratches and dropping)?
    Thanks!

please take note in this post. I have had experience with all 3 types of cases.
I mention my experiences with these vasrious cases from owning 3 ipods previously. I have used a leather case,a iskin case, and lastly a aluminum case. Out of all 3 the hands down best is the aluminum case. why? well my last ipod (photo) was covered in a alumium case and in my experiences it was the best of all. I had the misfortune of dropping it 4 feet to the asphalt and i was very worried but i noticed that the ipod was perfectly safe and fine. nothing was wrong with it. the aluminum case only sufered minor scratches from the drop. the other perfection in this especially the podplus case which i use for my ipod video is the screen protection that is built into the case its not seperate liek the iskin but is fixed to the case. the interior of the podplus case includes neoprene. this allows a snug fit and doesnt alow for any scratches because the neoprene is non abrasive. removing the ipod is simply just opening the top lid that is snugly latched to the case.
the iskin case is good but i noticed flaws in it i didnt like for the price i payed. the silicone case attracts dirts easily and needs to be cleaned. The silicone also wears easily and after awhile shows signs of tearing in areas like the dock connector opening. As well the protective shield moves around on top of the screen of the ipod therefore scratching it....not good. I as well droped the ipod in the iskin case only 2 feet and the case absorbed the drop easily and my ipod was perfectly fine ..I still didnt like this case overall because of the signs of wear and the bad screen protection it offered. the beilt clip is also a joke on the iskin case too. removing the ipod from the iskin case is cumbersome becasue you can only remove it from the center clickwheel opening (very annoying).
the leather case was good, aesthically pleasing to the eye but i still noticed i removed the ipod from the case often to sync it to my computer and to access it to. To much work for getting to your ipod when you want to use it and protect it as well.
Overall i would recommend the podplus case over any other alternative specifically for the drop factor adn the overall design it has over the leather case or the iskin silicone case. Also the podplus case is only $29.99 no tax no shipping fees.I would also suggest getting a clear film to protect the front face of the ipod. the links below show what i have for my ipod now.
