Will iphone 4 factory unlocked bought from dubai work in india?
I bought a iphone 4(16gb) from dubai unlocked version.I want to know that will it work in india because i stay in india?
Can i use the phone with all standard features and will not be there any problem?
Please can you help me out?
According to this list: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1937 All phone sold through official sources in the UAE are unlocked. As stated, though, They do not contain FaceTime and there is no way to add it. Other than that, it should work fine. Check the list above for supported carriers in India.

However on using the same in India with Vodafone, i am facing a problem where the connectivity keeps switching to EDGE most of the time. Bought my iPhone 4 from Dubai even though it's a factory unlocked phone I don't have a FaceTime button in setting so I'm wondering is there anyway I can get the FaceTime with out jail breaking my device it's working on iOS 4.3.5 , I read so much about getting it after u jailbreak Ur phone u get FaceTime but can I get it with out jail breaking my device as I'm using it in india please reply guys
iPhones purchased in the UAE do not have FaceTime installed and FaceTime will not appear regardless of where the phone is taken.
Jailbreaking will void your warranty with Apple, may permanently render your phone unusuable, and will eliminate the possibility of getting help from Apple or its forums including this one.
If you want FaceTime on an iPhone, sell that phone and purchase one from one of the authorized iPhone dealers in India. -
Will an Iphone 4S bought from Singapore, work in India?

I am planning to buy an (Unlocked) Iphone 4S from Singapore since I will be leaving for India soon. I wanted to find out if the phone would work fine with any of the Indian carriers (I have an IDEA connection). Also, since the phone comes only with a local warranty I am more skeptical. Although, ideally, since its Apple eveyrthing should be fine with the porduct (I'm hoping)

Please help me make up my mindIf you buy a legitimate factory unlocked iPhone, it will work on supported carriers. If you have ANY doubts about the seller, just buy it through Apple. Then you will get a one year manufacturer warranty, etc.

That depends on what country you want to buy it in. It can already be purchased in Canada and a few others.
Apple has not announced if or when an unlocked version will be made available in the US. -

No. FaceTime will not be available on devices bought in UAE. Moving to another location will not change this as the function is removed at the hardware level.

well i'm not really asking which is better for travel, i'm just asking over all which phone is better for the plan i have with T-Mobile, but i'm assuming is the Galaxy s2, but the only reason y im not getting that phone is cause that phone is way too big. sigh and i really like the i4s, been using iphone before as well, so i'm kinda use to it. But i see no point of getting the I4s if i the function that came with it to make it fun doesn't work. You get what i mean?? that's y i'm asking cause i don't know anything.

IPhone 5 Factory Unlocked 3rd Party Replacement from Apple

I bought an iPhone 5 from Rogers Factory unlocked to make it work with all carriers from a third party vendor. Now I have an issue with a power button, if I retun it to apple will they give me a replacement phone as a Rogers unit or a Factory unlocked unit. Please let me know because this unlock costed me $150 I don't want to unlock another iPhone if apple give me a replaceent as a Rogers phone.
Thanks, looking forward to your repliesIf the power button issue is a hardware issue, the only option from Apple is to replace it. Apple does not perform hardware repairs to any iOS device (never has done so) - they replace defective devices instead (and send the turned in one back to Foxconn in China for refurbishment or recycling).
Apple's strict policy is also to replace a defective iPhone with an exact duplicate one - so if your phone was purchased locked to Rogers, and you did NOT get it unlocked by Rogers, then you will get a Rogers locked iPhone in exchange.
There is no such thing as a legitimate 3rd party unlocking - only the carrier an iPhone is sold locked to has the authority to officially unlock it. Anybody else offering "unlocking" services is hacking the firmware, and such activity is not recognized by Apple when replacing defective phones. -

there is no such thing as as a factory unlocked iPhone
there is an iPhone which has not been carrier lock as has
been available outside the US from day one
there is no evidence in OP that he purchased NOT locked from Apple
