Will Iphone 4s purchased in Saudi work in india?

Hi,
I purchased iPhone4S factory unlocked in Saudi Arabia and using it for the last one month.
I will be moving to India in another one week.
As you know, some iPhone features like facetime do not work in Saudi, I would like to know if they will work fine in India.
Lets me know if there is any procedure that I need to follow to remove all the restrictions that I have on my iPhone currently when I move shift to India.
Help much appreciated.

You will NEVER get FaceTime on your iPhone purchased in Saudi Arabia. It's removed at the hardware level. No amount of updating or restoring will ever put FaceTime on your iPhone. That being said, if it's officially unlocked you'll likely have no problems getting it to work with your supported carrier in India. You'll just never have FaceTime.

That is not possible. there is no such thing as a factory unlocked phone from AT&T. All AT&T Phones are by definition locked to AT&T. The only way to get around this is to ask AT&T to unlock it. But you need to have been paying customer at some point.

BTW, the iPhone only has ONE speaker.

I am moving to India for a 6 month work related project in a couple of months and am planning to buy an iPhone 5 on contract here in New York. The contract can be seasonally suspended for 6 months so no issues about breaking the contract. I was deciding which carrier to buy the iPhone on - so that it can be unlocked (in India) and I can use it in India for 6 months, and after that come back to NYC and use it here after un-suspending my account. I cannot afford to buy an unlocked phone from Apple. Here is what I am debating:
1. AT&T: It is a GSM provider, with most major carriers in India being GSM, it will be a good fit. Wanted to confirm that this will work in India with an Indian SIM, and if it will, will it work on 4G or 3G, and how do I go about it?
2. Verizon: It is a CDMA device but I heard this comes unlocked even if you purchase on contract. Will this be compatible with a GSM provider in India? If so how, and will it work on 3G or 4G? The advantage here is that I save on unlocking fees which in India ranges from (5000-10000 INR)

You can not have it unlocked in India. ONLY the carrier the phone is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Anything else is a hack which will void your warranty and is illegal in the US.
For an AT&T phone:
You pay the Early Termination fee so that you can have the phone unlocked.
You do not suspend the contract and you pay ridiculous International Roaming Rates.
Verizon phone:
The SIM slot is unlocked. It should work fine with either of the supported carriers in India (Aircel and Airtel) and may work with other carriers in India.

All iphones sold from official sources in Hong Kong are unlocked & will work on any GSM carriers network with the appropriate activated sim, including the USA. Note however, warranty & support are country specific & the phone would have to be returned to Hong Kong for any and all warranty & support issues. Make sure you purchase from an official source, non-official sources hack the phone to unlock it(their prices are often cheaper) and this will lead to nothing but problems.

As did checked with Apple Call Centre in India and they said 'it's not available'. But when I called Apple Call Centre in UAE, they said 'it's available'.
Also when checked with legal warranty documents on Apple website and it was mentioned that 'Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the Apple Product.' This statement doesn't provide a straight forward answer as yes or no.
Will be glad if you anyone can answer the query or provide me some legal document stating the facts....

Hey guys.. I just love the iPhone 4S and want to buy it as a mark of my respect for the late Steve jobs. But sadly it isn't available in India. So I asked my friend to pick up an unlocked iPhone 4S from Singapore. My concern is, will it work with the local GSM Sim card in India?

In my personal opinion the 4s is not much different than the 4! I am using both.
The major difference is the camera but the rest including the faster processor still feels the same!!
Anytime now the jailbreak is gonna come out and u will most likely be able to use Siri on the 4 too!!
But no doubt the 4s is a sweet phone!!
I got the 64gb AT&T contract free and it worked perfectly fine in India since the day one!!
Siri works smoothly and is quite helpful... Thou its kinda difficult for her to understand Indian names..
Apart from that no settings were changed.. It worked straight out of the box!
If u can't live without it then buy the 4s but if ur not so much of a ifreak then the original 4 is not a bad bet either!!

I am super excited about the new 5S and since I am currently in the US I am considering to buy one. The thing is - I am from Europe (Czech Rep.) and will be going back in a couple of weeks.
My question is: Will the iphone 5S work in Europe with the local carrier? From the apple.com website it seems like if I buy the UNLOCKED (available from Tmobile only?) version it should work. Can anybody confirm on that? I dont want to spend 700bucks on a phone that wont work.

If you buy a legitimate factory unlocked iPhone, it will work on supported carriers. If you have ANY doubts about the seller, just buy it through Apple. Then you will get a one year manufacturer warranty, etc.

I just moved to Cambodia with my three month old Iphone5 and it won't make outgoing calls. The local carrier, Mobitel, said it's a common problem with US Iphone5's. I bought it from Apple unlocked. Expensive problem to have so far from home. Any suggestions. By the way, my wife's one month old iphone5 works great. Mobitel said it's a commone occurance to have random outgoing calling problems with US iphone5 only.
Your thoughts?
