I am just wondering, when i tried to snap a hard covered case onto the iPhone and it involves the sides which requires quite an amount of force to put the case on, will the power button, volume buttons, or the mute switch be damaged when i apply the case and will the issue that effects those buttons be noticeable after i snapped the case on? Has anyone encountered damaged buttons after pu

While it is a good idea to be cautious when applying any case, the process typically does not represent a risk to the Power button, the Volume buttons or the Mute button.

Iphone 4 power button is stuck down and iphone won't turn on

My iPhone 4 power button is stuck down, and it won't come back up. The next best part is, my phone is either off or dead i don't know which, and i plug it into my computer/wall charger and nothing happens.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My guess is with dents, they are going to tell you the damage voided the warranty

This will be covered for free under Apple Warranty. Until you do this, a software workaround is a Virtual Lock Button in Assistive Touch on iPhone. Tap Settings App>General>Accessibility>Assitive Touch>ON>Tap new Virtual White Screen Button>tap Device> tap Lock Screen. If you hold down on the Lock Screen Icon it will give you the "slide to power off". To turn iPhone ON, connect to Power Source with USB Cable, via Charger or Computer USB Port.

Do you know which iMac model family you have? There are four families dating back to 1998. Troubleshooting depends on that. This forum covers the first three families made from 1998 to 2005. iMacs newer than that get a separate forum.
Do you have the system disks that came with the computer? If so, and depending on model, you may be able to start from the CD/DVD and then make the jump to booting normally.
All computers has a little battery on the logic board that holds date, time, and some important startup parameters when the compuer is taken off wall power for a short time. If your battery was very old and died, then the settings the computer needs to start may have been lost when you unplugged it. For some Mac modles, booting from a CD or DVD gets around this temporarily, but ultimately the battery needs to be replaced. The internal batteries are cheap but can be hard to access on some iMacs like the G4 "desklamp" model

You've never used Excel? You can delete multiple rows or columns with ease.
Yahoo mail gives you an option, by checking a box preceeding the messages, to move or cancel selected (range) messages in mass. I use it daily.
Outlook and Outlook Express both give you the option to cancel a range of messages, highlight the first message, shift key held, highlight the last message, delete.
I guess I did not consider browsers or games as stored data when I made the comment

Don't see any possibility to do that. Only thing to try is to inform the Care point before getting it repaired that it was not possible to back-up data .. so that they may take necessary steps to preserve it..
The thread starter did mention of an intention to do a quick backup in which is possible without using Nokia Suite. Although messages and contacts might not be recovered with that route.
