Will iphoto 08 work in lion?

cant get my photos to import from a TM backup to a new machine running lion. they worked fine with the iphoto 08 (7.1.5 version) on my old machine. can i just install iphoto 08 and run that on the lion OS on the new machine?
i tried rebuilding and a lot of other things. i believe i have a corrupt iphoto library, but everything worked fine for me right before i backed it all up to TM.
thanks

I'm have iPhoto '08 (7.1.5) and it appears to run fine under Lion.  At least it starts up, lets me see photos, plays slideshows, etc.  I use Aperture, not iPhoto, these days so I have not imported anything into iPhoto since moving to Lion but I have some older slideshows in iPhoto so I keep it around.

  • Will iphoto work

will iphoto work after update to Mountai Lion?

It depends of the iPhoto version you have. Open iPhoto menu > About iPhoto and copy Version here. At least, iPhoto '09 (iPhoto 8.x.x) and '11 (iPhoto 9.x.x) works with Mountain Lion, so if you have an older version, I recommend you to purchase iPhoto '11 in the App Store

    Bummer.
Not a bummer. What is wrong with the OS you are now using?
If it Ain't broken don't try to fix it.
Be Happy you don't have to deal with all the changes and inconsistencies that Lion has created between it and older Mac OSs

  • Will iDVD work in Lion?

I would like to migrate a copy of iDVD from time machine to my new iMac 27".  Will it work and how do I transfer just iDVD and not all the other applications as well?
    Thanks.

Yes, it works in Lion.  However, you need to transfer both the application and themes which are located in your HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD folder. If copying the themes to that folder and the app to the Applications folder does not let iDVD find the themes you may have to reinstall iDVD from the disk it came on for your old Mac, if you have it.
Otherwise purchase a copy of the boxed iLife 11 disk from Amazon.com: iLife 11. That wahy you'll have it on disk along with the discontinued iWeb for future installs if necessary.

  • I have an Advaned Format WD drive, will it work with Lion?Does Lion even support AF?

I have a "new" mid 2009 MacBook, and I'm replacing everything on it so I can use it for school. I want to use Lion, and decided to get a new hard drive to compliment the upgrade.I ordered a WD Scorpio Black drive...but just realized it had Advanced Format in the description. I noticed alot of reviewers said it worked with their MacBook Pro's, but dont know if they succesfully got AF to work or not...sounds like there would be a serious performance hit if they couldnt get it to work.Does Lion have any way to format the drive in AF?Is it even necessary?

While we all have MacBooks in this forum most of us don’t have Lion. There's a Lion Support Community where everybody has Lion. You should also post this question there.  https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac_os/mac_os_x_v10.7_lion

  • When will iPhoto work on an iPad?

I would like to use iPhoto as a catalog here in my bakery. However, it seems that through the research I have done, that iPhoto and all of it's features do not work on an iPad. How far away is iPhoto from full functionality on an iPad?

There is the Photos app on the iPad, it's not called iPhoto as it's basically just a viewer/slideshow app. With iOS 5 later this year it will get some more functionality (from iOS 5 Photos) :
Crop, rotate, enhance, and remove red-eye without leaving the Photos app. Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device. With iCloud, you can push new photos to all your iOS devices. So if you’re taking photos on your iPhone, iCloud automatically sends copies to your iPad, where you can quickly touch them up before showing them off.
But I doubt that it will ever be anywhere near as powerful as iPhoto is on a Mac

  • Logic express 9 will not work on Lion

and the update cannot find the app in Applications. also the icon of LE9 has a grey circle with a line through it
    Please help!

    Hi
You need to be running version 9.1.4 or later with Lion OS
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4807
For the updaters to work, the Logic Express application must be:
    a) Named "Logic Express" with no numbers or spaces at the end of the name
    b) Inside the Applications folder, but not inside any other subfolder

  • Will entorage work with lion

Before I upgrade to lion I wanted to make sure entorage will function properly as it has with snow ...

If it's '04 it won't run in Lion, Microsoft don't have native Intel code on this version and you'll need Rosetta to run Entourage which Lion doesn't support/offer. You can also click on the word "Entourage" in bold text to the right of the Apple logo and then click About Entourage. This will tell you the version.

  • Microsoft Office will not work with Lion!

Have just installed Lion, now I can not use microsoft office (Word,XL,PPS), message says "POWERPC applications no longer supported" Any help appreciated.

Sounds like you are using Office 2004 or earlier and if so, as the error message provide indicates, PowerPC applications are no longer supported with Lion, and Office 2004 was witten for Macs with a PowerPC processor. The reason PowerPC applications worked on Macs with Intel processors prior to Lion was due to what is called Rosetta, which is no longer supported with Lion.
I believe Office 2008 or whatever the next version was after 2004 and Office 2011 is supported since these are witten for Macs with an Intel processor with OS X.

  • My USB switch box (sharing a high speed scanner between 2 macs) will not work with lion. what can I do?

    Hi..
Check the USB hardware website for support for Lion v10.7.

  • Lion - 2004 MS Office for Mac will not work

My 2004 version of Microsoft Office for Mac will not work in Lion. I suspect because this is a PowerPC application. My question is this:
Is there any program out there which will map the PowerPC to an Intel format? Other than trying to seel more products, I am surprised that Apple does not supply a mapping program for products made by Microsoft for the Apple devices.

Eric, can you tell me where please? It's not mentioned on the Lion compatibility pages at all. (http://www.apple.com/uk/macosx/what-is/compatibility.html) nor on the 'how to upgrade' page (http://www.apple.com/uk/macosx/how-to-buy/)

  • How can i get my cs premium to work in lion

how can i make my cs premium work in lion
    yanka

The top 6 "will not work in Lion" programs:
    Quicken 2007
Office 2004 and Word, Excel, and mail that are part of it
    Adobe cs2
    FileMaker 6
    Eudora 6
    AppleWorks
This is due to removal of support for Rosetta, which used to provide support for PowerPC-only programs.

  • Quicken for Mac replacement - won't work with Lion

Quicken has sent an announcement to users confirming that Quicken for Mac 2005-2007 will not work with Lion, and encourage these users to begin using Quicken Essentials.  Obviously this is not an option for many.  I'm going to try out iBank 4 as a full replacement for Quicken for Mac, although I understand online bill pay is not supported.
Any other former Quicken for Mac users using iBank 4?  Would love to hear your thoughts about it.

Just to add to the thread..
As Quicken will not be supporting the Mac Lion Update, I will require a replacement financial/banking software package for Quicken 2007.
I tried Quicken Essentials but it does not do what I need.
I am looking for the following features:
    Check Printing
    Memorized Transactions (QuickFill in Quicken)
    Custom Reports
    Memorized Reports
    Scheduled Transactions
I do not need investment/budget/online banking features.
    Sure would appreciate some advice!
    Many thanks!

  • Does Adobe Indesign work with Lion?

I have Adobe Indesign CS5 and I was wondering if there were any problems running it with Lion or for that matter, with ANY adobe product.

I don't have it myself, but if it is a Power PC application it will NOT work on Lion.

  • Will iPhoto '09 version 8.0.2 (402) work within Mountain Lion??

I have downloaded Mountain Lion but hasn't installed.  Currently running on Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  Before I install mountain lion I wanna make sure the iPhoto version I have will still work, as I can't live without it?  Not sure I want to pay another £10 for it from the App store, to be honest...
    Thanks!
    Chloe

iPhoto '09 works in Mountain Lion without any problem. However, you are running an outdated iPhoto version, so open  > Software Update, and install the most recent iPhoto '09 version before upgrading to Mountain Lion.
Before upgrading to Mountain Lion, make a backup of your data and check that your applications are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com

  • Will iPhoto '09 work with Lion?

Will iPhoto '09 work with Lion? Since I upgraded to Lion when I open a Facebook album in iPhoto I get the message "An error occurred with the publication of (album name)". The album was submitted successfully long ago. One of a few new quirks since the upgrade.

Crap. I think I might be out of luck. I'm trying to put it on a 2011 Mac Mini. And the new iPhoto is such crap by comparison.
I wonder if they dumbed it down so people would buy Aperture.
