Will Lightroom 5 catalogs be compatible with Lightroom CC?

Will Lightroom 5 catalogs be compatible with Lightroom CC?

Not exactly sure what you are asking.
When you run LR6 / CC for the first time it'll upgrade your LR5 catalogue by making a copy and using that for LR6.  LR5 will continue to use the original catalogue.
So if you are asking will it use the same catalogue and will LR6 see any changes made in LR5 and vice-versa, then no.

  • Will my iPod 3G be compatible with the latest iTunes (11)?

    Hello all.
As the title asks.....Will my iPod 3G be compatible with the latest iTunes (11)?
The reason is I am having problems making my iPod 3G, iTouch 2G and iPhone 3GS all connect to iTunes store etc. I am having an error message of -42408 when launching my present iTunes 10.6.3.

We have 2 out of 3 of those and iTunes 11 works great on all of them.
It does take some getting use to from iTunes 10.

  • When will OS X Lion be compatible with Avid's Pro Tools 9, or any Pro Tools for that matter?

When will OS X Lion be compatible with Avid's Pro Tools 9, or any Pro Tools for that matter?

There's less money to be made from compatibility than there is from "forced upgrades."  Why would AVID be concerned with their older product working with the new OS when they can release another version for people to pay $250+ for?  Free bug-fix download vs. latest software upgrade?  You've got two companies with virtual monopolies on the pro audio market.  It's a win-win for them.
So what does that say to me about the handful that do not?  The incompatibility is a marketing decision, not a shortcoming.
    Am I close?

  • Does anyone know when Lightroom5 will be upgraded to be compatible with my new Nikon D750? Thanks

If someone can just tell me when Lightroom5 will be compatible with RAW images from my new Nikon D750. I have tried chat, phone and now here. Very frustrated first time Adobe user. I purchased this product to be able to develop RAW images to find out its not compatible with my camera.

    kathrynpp and all,
Native Lightroom support for the D750 was added in the Lightroom 5.7 update released this evening.

  • Time Capsule 1TB Will this unit still be compatible with Lion OSX ,As I have not switched yet until other programs I have installed on my mac are up to speed

I have had my eye on one of these for quite some time in the past and up until just very recently have puchased a 1TB Time Capsule at rather quite a reasonable price or so I had thought compared to what they had been priced at originally in the past which I had thought to be a bit over the top as is with most of apple's products or should I more say marketing tactic's,
Anyway I was just wanting to know in general is this unit already so to speak on it's way out or becoming obsolete in comparison to the 2TB's and 3TBs Time Capsules ,
Not the implicating the obvious being storage in differences but more so the compatibility issue side of things,
In short will this unit still work with OSX Lion for example, or is it only limited to Leopard and Snowleopard,
The place I had purchased this unit from are more or less in the dark themselves and although more than helpful are more a musical instrument outlet than a computer store as the decision was my choice alone in which I need not to be convinced,
Although I have purchased this item I am yet to recieve as this unit was the one of the last in the country and is to be shipped in from out of town,
But has given me time to think of such in the process during as this unit is no longer advertised amongst it bigger companions,
I use my mac or mac's mainly for composing music with such software as Pro Tools 8 soon to be 9 and also Live 8 Studio as I don't plan to plan to change over to Lion OSX until these programs are up to speed and speaking the same language,

    Yes, it's compatible with Lion.

  • Will Acrobat Pro 9 be compatible with OS X 10.7 Lion?

Will Acrobat Pro 9 be be compatible with OS X 10.7 Lion?

Roaring Apps is indeed the source
    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table/p/1
The claim on the site is that it was tested on Lion and "does not work properly," which is to say there are major, not minor problems.
I spoke with someone at Adobe today who tells me that version 10.1, or at least a modified version of 10.1 that is Lion compatible will be available when Lion is released.
That leads me to believe neither version 9 nor the current version 10 will run properly under Lion. I do not know the extent of the issues. Since I use Acrobat Pro often, I'm not thrilled with having to upgrade, so I'd love to find out that the Roaring Apps post is incorrect. But there was no indication from my discussion today that the old software would work on the new OS. Quite the opposite.
I did mention that I thought $199 was a steep upgrade cost for making the program work with a Mac OS update that Adobe has had access to for a fair amount of time. Particularly since Apple has made it clear for years that they would be dropping support for coding based on the old Power PC architecture.

  • When will 3.6.8 be compatible with windows live one scanner?

Under IE8, occasionally I would run a windows live one scanner, which is an excellent free virus scan, and catches a lot more than my package with my provider does. However, it is not compatible with Firefox 3.6.8. On its web page, Windows One tells you of an add-on you can use to run the scan with Firefox, but the add-on is not available on version 3.6.8.

The way that Microsoft developed the scanner, it will never work in Firefox or quite a few other browsers. The scanner uses an ActiveX control which will not be supported on Firefox or many other browsers. For details on the reasons why Firefox does not support ActiveX see https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/ActiveX

  • Will Photoshop 6.0 be compatible with Windows 8?

As Windows XP Pro is going to be obsolete after April 2014, I am wondering if my version of Photoshop 6.0 will be compatible with Windows 8? I was thinking of having my tech person install that version of Windows on a new system when spring rolls around. Any insights, feedback and additional suggestions would be appreciated!
    Dan

I don't think OE has worked aince XP.  If you don't have a copy of MS Office that comes with the full version of Outlook, then MS provide Windows Mail with Windows 8, and it is a poor imitation.  I've been using it on my laptop while my big system box has been out of commission, and it sucks.
I understand Thunderbird is OK, and it's free
    http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/
    But I have no experience.
What you need to do is make a strategy while you still have the old system running, because that will make a difference about what format to export everything from OE.  Here again, I have never used OE, but there about half a dozen alternatives with Outlook.

I wonder if you can move the location of the OE data to an external drive?  That way, you could connect the external drive to the new system and point to it.
Hmmm...  I think the best course would be to install Thunderbird (if that's what you decide to go with) to the XP system.  Thunderbird will then import everything from OE

From this thread, you simply need to transfer the data to the new system, and the location is linked in the third post.

I found an awesome iHome that I want really bad but it doesn't say 'compatible with iPod nano generation 2', just generation 1. Should I buy it or will it not work?

THanks for providing a link for the exact item you were looking mentioning. So I looked at the link adn was amazed that it didn't mention the 2nd gen. ipod nano!?!? :-/
But then i looked at the ihome website and they dont carry that model anymore. So then i just did some searches on google of that exact model and reference tot he 2nd gen. ipod nano and i found this link that mentions that the 2nd gen. ipod nano is compatible with the ihome accessory your looking at.
    http://www.playlistmag.com/products/complete/587-detail.php
So I would say with confidence that the 2nd gen ipod nano is compatible with the ihome product your asking about.

  • Will Leopard's iCal be compatible with Outlook and others?

I've heard the new version of iCal that's shipping with Leopard that is built on a more up-to-date standard will be more compatible with other calendaring programs (sorry, I'm not up on the tech side of electronic calendars).
Does this mean that the new version of iCal will finally allow me to seek and accept meeting invitations with my brethren using Outlook?

Yes and no, for a number of reasons.
iCal has been recoded to conform with the CalDAV standard developed by CalConnect: The Calendar & Scheduling Consortium, of which Apple is a member, along with Google, IBM, the Mozilla Foundation, Novell, Oracle, Symbian, Yahoo and a host of major universities and a set of smaller, specialized organizations. Notably missing: Microsoft.
    Of course.
Generally speaking, Microsoft contact and calendaring components are not entirely compatible with each other, a problem aggravated by the several supported releases of the Exchange Server component. Unless and until Microsoft announces its unqualified support—uh, like that is every going to happen—for the CalDAV standard, there is no guarantee or even a substantial likelihood that you will experience trouble-free interchange of calendaring data with Outlook users. Unfortunately, it seems all too true that in Microsoft-speak, 'interoperability' means '…so long as you do it our way.'
The release of iCal with Mac OS X 10.5 and iCal Server with Mac OS X Server 10.5, along with the release of the open source Darwin Calendar Server, should ease this process but, realistically, no one other than Microsoft can explicitly control how their contact and calendaring components will interchange data.
You can learn more about CalConnect, iCal as envisioned under Mac OS X 10.5, and iCal Server, by pressing these embedded links.

  • Will Quicktime Pro convert files compatible with Mac and Windows?

I'm trying to decide if I should upgrate to Pro 7.
I created a screen capture tutorial in Snaps Pro X which outputs a .mov file. Now I need to convert it to a cross platform version. Is that MPEG? I see that QT Pro 7 exports to MPEG-4. Is that compatible with at least XP?
Also can I do screen capture videos right in QT Pro 7?
    Thanks,
    Steven

QuickTime Pro can't capture your screen.
Your SnapZ Pro .mov file should be compatible (depending the your choice of codecs) with any machine that has QuickTime installed.

  • HT3728 Express will not take software upgrade.  Message says to install 5.6 and when I do it will not show, says not compatible with this version of Mac. 10.8 OS-X, why not?

Unable to update airport express.  When connecting msg says to install 5.6, download and will not take install says it is not compatible.

This is a dilemma. Older Express models require AirPort Utility 5.6.1 or a similar, older version of AU. Mountain Lion will refuse to install it. What to do?
As it turns out AirPort Utility 5.6.1 runs perfectly fine on Mountain Lion. If you had the foresight to have archived it somewhere (such as with Time Machine or equivalent) you can simply copy the app to your computer and use it. The problem is that the installer package will refuse to work on a Mountain Lion system.
If you don't have an already-extracted version of AU 5.6.1 there is a solution: you simply need Pacifist to extract the app from the installer package. I also found another technique described on this page:
