I have two computers - one Windows and the laptop is a Mac. I need to upgrade both with Lightroom 6.

    If you wait long enough you can go directly to 10.6.0
    My reason for waiting until I can upgrade in one step is two fold:
    1) I don't yet need the new features of Leopard, they're still a nice-to-have for me.
    2) I want to have the 10.5.2 CD as my starting point, should I ever need to re-install the OS.
    To answer some of the other comments, my local Apple store told me "about a week" when I asked the same question. That was a few weeks ago, so my confidence in getting a real answer out of Apple is low. I was hoping someone here could say, ~the box version of an upgrade usually appears about 5 weeks after the download version~ (obviously with the right time period inserted).

    Ganz einfach!
    Die Funktion für die Synchronisation mit Mobilgeräten, incl Lightroom mobile ist nur in der Abo-VErsion enthalten. Bei den Funktions-Updates musst du bei der Kaufversion musst du immer warten bis Adobe eine neue Version zur Verfügung stellt und das kann schon mal dauern. Bei der Abo-Version geht das schneller.
    Da ich damit leben kann, werde ich mir zu gegebener Zeit das Update auf LR6 (Kaufversion) besorgen. Nur ich kann warten bis die ersten groben Fehler beseitigt sind und die ersten Patches verfügbar sind.

    That website is using an old method of checking the encryption level a web browser is capable of, it mentions Netscape 6.x/7 which are like from 6 to 7 years ago. It looks like they're checking for a '''U''' in the User Agent string. That particular letter in the UA goes back to the days of export controls for encryption software, but those controls expired over 15 years ago. That letter has been virtually meaningless since then. <br />

    Unbelievable. All it took was one iteration on the Mac App Store and we're back to being forced to buy the hard-to-install-and-likely-to-be-wrought-with-problems-DRM-delight version of the upgrade direct from Adobe?! I wish Adobe would decide on a distribution model and stick with it for the sake of its customers. I'm getting awfully fed up with having to navigate a different way of upgrading the software every time it becomes available. I might not bother this time. Get it right, Adobe. You can no longer assume you have a captive audience.

    Your licence is not platform specific, so Lightroom can be used on any two machines (Mac and/or WIndows), with one actually being used at any given time.

    There is no magic involved nor is there any specific CC version of LR. CC simply will take over your existing install and that's it. No change in functionality no nothing, no blinking buttons, no congratulary note from aunt Gerty.

    Lr 5.7.1 works GREAT on Yosemite 10.10.2 for me.  I did a complete reformat and reinstall from Mountain Lion so that may be a factor.  Yosemite still has glitches but Lightroom running isn't one of them.  My opinion is 10.10.2 is a pretty stable platform.

    I buy a new iMac 27" with Fusion Drive 3TB for using the two platform Windows & OS X.  When I try to initiate Boot Camp for windows installation I got the message "not possible with 3TB".  Here anyone know when the update will be available for Boot Camp version 3TB?

    Nobody knows when Apple decides to make changes to the Operating System. I would suggest you take your question to the Apple Support Community for Boot Camp, and maybe they can help you with a workaround if one is available.

  • My Lightroom 5 upgrade serial number not showing up on My Products page; chat support useless

    I purchased a Lightroom 5 upgrade license on July 25th.  I didn't receive a confirmation email but my serial number was displayed on the order summary page after purchase.  I tried registering the serial number repeatedly through the My Products page but for some reason the serial number wasn't showing up, even though the registration process reported a successful result.  Furthermore, Adobe products bought from the Adobe store should automatically be registered according to Adobe's web site.  Apparently this must have failed.  I need to reinstall Lightroom 5 but the serial number is still not showing up on the My Products page.  I just spent an extremely frustrating hour with Adobe "Live" chat who did nothing but send me in circles and repeat the same canned responses over and over again.
    I'm currently on hold with "phone support" but I'm not optimistic as I've been on hold for 28 minutes.  The only other support option was a link to this forum, hence this post.  Hopefully someone from Adobe can retrieve my serial number and contact me.  Failing this my only other option will be to contact VISA and open a claim.

    OK, I was able to recover my previous system's image and thankfully it appears you can get the serial number from Help->System Info.  I attempted to register the serial number again via the My Products page and while it indicated that the registration was successful, we'll see.  At least I should be able to install LR5 on my new machine now.
    Edit:  I also just discovered that the serial number is listed under My Orders, but not under My Products.  Weird.  In my defence , I never thought to check My Order history because I never received a confirmation email and the order wasn't listed after purchase...even as late as mid-August (when I last checked.)  Very strange but it's all good now.
    Edit #2: OK now I just feel silly.  I just received an email from Naveen with an actual support case AND the correct serial number.  So, I stand corrected.  The Live Chat process still felt incredibly long with some seemingly canned/automated responses but, in all fairness, he did get back to me.  Thank goodness I washed both feet today...
