Will Lightroom be sold separately in the future?

I have the complete Adobe CC plan and a separete "old school" Lightroom 5 license.
Will Lightroom still be available as a stand alone license when future versions of Lightroom arrive? Or will Lightroom only be available as a part of the new subscription solution?

"Wait and see" is a risky strategy for professional photogs with growing archives. I would really welcome a clear statement from Adobe. Otherwise I have to consider change to a non subscribing solution like Aperture.
A clear statement isn't going to happen, for the reasons already explained.
If you're a pro, I'm not sure why Lr's pricing/licence strategy would be of concern to you - if you need Lr in a commercial context, one licence structure seems to be as good as another.
It is really vague wheather Lightroom will support perpetual licences or not.
I don't think there's anything vague about:
Future versions of Lightroom will be made available via traditional perpetual licenses indefinitely.

Hi Brenda. Not directly, no. You would need Lightroom 6 to have direct support for that camera. But, you can still use the free DNG Converter to get those files into Lightroom 4. See here:  Why doesn’t my version of Photoshop or Lightroom support my camera?

Okay so I should be asking Adobe direct, thanks.
I did find that Nikon released the developer software for the D4S back in february so just could'nt uderstand the delay especially as adobe never seems to be late taking my money each month.

Will Lightroom 5 be available on the Mac App Store?

Unbelievable. All it took was one iteration on the Mac App Store and we're back to being forced to buy the hard-to-install-and-likely-to-be-wrought-with-problems-DRM-delight version of the upgrade direct from Adobe?! I wish Adobe would decide on a distribution model and stick with it for the sake of its customers. I'm getting awfully fed up with having to navigate a different way of upgrading the software every time it becomes available. I might not bother this time. Get it right, Adobe. You can no longer assume you have a captive audience.

Will AIR has any problems in the future with Android?
If we are experienced in flash, is it better to do the mobile work with AIR or HTML5?
But we are doing flash only so that we may face problems if we faced any bugs, is it expected to have any bugs or complexities, we can do flash with AS3 and we will depend on flash in publishing

Do you mean you dropped the iPad Air?  Is it working properly?  Is the screen damaged?
If it is working properly and has no signs of damage, it is probably ok.

It will be available for download at the same time as the rest of the world, but unfortunately Adobe's not telling us when that will be, and anybody who says they know really doesn't.

  • When will Lightroom have a profile for the Parrot Bebop Drone for lens correction?

Just wondering if and when Lightroom will add a lens correction profile for the Parrot Bebop Drone.

The Parrot Bebop Drone camera and lens is not likely to be supported by Adobe.
    https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support-lightroom-4.html
It appears to use a fisheye lens and in-camera processing or provided software to rectilinear "correct" the image. What specifically are you trying to correct with the LR Lens Profile tool? This will help us provide other suggestions to accomplish your objectives.

  • My macbook pro is just over 3 years old now and off and on during this time the screen will just go all black.  Lately this blackout is lasting longer and I was wondering what is causing this.  I am afraid that this will not come back on in the future.

My MacBook pro is just over 3 years old now and the screen has totally blacked out for a few seconds at a time.  It will come back on in a few seconds with the exception this past month it has stayed black for a longer period of time like one minute.  It scares me to think that one of these times it won't come back on.  I have noticed it happens more often when I am using just the battery power.  Does anyone have any idea what causes this?  just to mention my battery was not low when this happens.

    jmckl,
if your MacBook Pro is a 15-inch Mid 2010 model (“MacBookPro6,2”), then it might be exhibiting the defect that is documented on this Apple Support page. If your black screen is due to this defect, then that page states that Apple will service this problem on this specific model of MacBook Pro gratis, for three years from the date of purchase. However, some commenters here have noted that sometimes the servicing is done gratis without having proof of the date of purchase. If you have an Apple Store near you, you might consider bringing your MacBook Pro there to have them check for the presence of this defect.
It is only the 15-inch Mid 2010 model that has this problem; no other model suffers from it.

  • Creating pdf forms from a Word doc that will need to be edited in the future

Ok, I searched everywhere for an answer to this situation... and I want to know if there is a work around.
Basically, I have a word document. I will use this Word document to create a application form. So I will manually create fields where needed after I convert the document to pdf.
Now here is the issue... at some point, the Word document will have to be changed... maybe a date or an address or something. This would mean I would have to change the original Word document, re-create the form (adding all the fields again) and re-publish it.
Can I somehow edit the text in the pdf (with the fields already in place) without having to change the original word file and re-create the form?
Has anyone had this problem? Am I doing something wrong? Or is there an assumption that the original Word document you use to create your form (pdf) will not be changed at a later date?
    Thanks.
    Quinn

Ok, sorry if I haven't quite figured this out.
When I create a pdf form, AA can detect some fields and automatically creates them. This is great. For other fields, I have to create them. No problem.
So here I have Document A (MS Word) and my new pdf form (Document B).
I edit Document A and change the date in the header let's say. I re-create my pdf form (Document C).
How will Document C remember to re-associate the fields I created in Document B? Won't I have to start all over again?
This is my question. If the answer is no, then I just have to hope that when I create the new form, AA can figure out as many fields as possible (and selection choices such as bullet, check marks, etc).
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Battery has dents, will that affect my macbook in the future?

    Hello,
I just noticed my macbook has dents, i purchased the mac secondhand and didn't take the time to check the battery. Well now I did and i notice like little dents here and there, I am thinking of getting a new battery because it feels like it warms up the macbook a little too warm. What are the negatives of this if anyone knows? Thanks
    - Rafiullah Sayed Ahmadi

    Hi,
Dents in the battery pack are potentially a sign the battery pack has suffered very rough handling. It could be possible that components inside the battery cells might have been loosened and will move to cause short circuit.
There are safety mechanisms in the cells to try to avert a hazardous situation resulting from a short circuit inside the cell. The energy density in the cells is very high, and the worst case scenario is the energy release by a short circuit could generate enough heat to start a fire. Normally, battery packs have a thermal fuse. See this: http://www.edn.com/blog/1470000147/post/550007255.html?text=polymer+fuse
I have a friend who flies remote control model planes, and just yesterday he was telling me about a Li-Po battery pack that burst into flames shortly after a model plane made a rough landing. A web site that is very helpful at understanding the physics and safe handling of batteries is battery University: http://www.batteryuniversity.com/
The battery pack does in fact become a little warm while charging or running the computer. None the less, it would probably be best to have your battery pack examined by a knowledgeable technician. Better off safe than sorry when is comes to a damaged battery: discontinue its use, if possible.

  • Panorama never saves the pages after the browser is closed. Will there be such feature in the future? And another thing, i cant never submit a feedback through the browser, because it tells me im not running the latest beta build when im using 4.12pre.

    Windows 7, Minefield 4.0b12pre (updated 2011-02-09)

Well, with 4.0 beta there is the option of restoring a previous session on demand (thumbs up for that :P) AND what's even nicer it even saves the state of Panorama.
Just tried it and if you have tab groups defined in Panorama when you close Firefox, if you choose to restore the session when you restart the next time (either by using the Restore button on Firefox's default homepage or the option in the History menu) Panorama gets restored as well.

  • Why the cleint will implement different sold to rather differen ship to ?

    Hi Gurus
Any body has seen this from any client?
why the cleint will implement different sold to for the same customer rather than one sold to and differen ship to.
    Ex:
Burger king : 1000 through out unites states.
    scenario 1): 1000 different burger king sold-to
    scenario 2): 1 sold -to and 1000 ship-to
    I have seen both.
why? Please I want business need?
    Any thoughts with explonation.
    Thanks
    Prasad

Dude...If the Company operates through Distributer model then he can have as many Ship to Parties attached to one Sold to Party....as he will not be bothered for the credit and other details of those Ship to...only the Sold To will be maintained & through Centralised Dynamic Credit check...also the Ship to Parties Can be the district/city level owners...and the Sold to Can be a Regional Party...i mean the Company must have chosen only one Sold to Party from every state...u can have hell lot of scenarios
The other scenario is a normal one...you can have end number of Sold to parties..with their Master Data...credit etc..in case of Retail chains..this model can is used
    Reward Point if it helps.
