The latest Flash 11 works fine for me on Mavericks, on every site that plays videos.
I have no idea what Xat Flash Chatrooms is (and really have no interest), but it sounds like the issue is with that site, as Flash in general works for literally tens of millions of people on most other sites.

I bought a new MacBook Air a few weeks ago and asked them to transfer data from my very old MacBook and they turned the new computer into the old one, essentially, that doesn't think I've got the latest operating system OSX 10.8.5 installed on it!

Hi, I see I haven't had any responses but these problems haven't been fixed.
I still haven't been able to transfer purchases from my phone to my comp so consequently have stopped purchasing on my phone.
I bought a couple of albums recently via itunes on my comp, and tried to tranfer them to my phone via a playlist, but the sync often crashes. One album transferred except for one song, and the other hasn't at all. What happens is that when I autofill from a playlist it often hangs for ages on the first song and then I have to quit the application altogether as nothing happens for ages. Basically, the whole Itunes software freezes.
After this I find it hasn't transferred any songs, but they do appear greyed out on my phone, which means it has transferred some basic data such as the titles, but not the song itself. When I try to repeat the process to complete the transfer Itunes tells me that it can't transfer because the songs are already on the phone, but they are not!! I can't click or remove on the greyed out items, so now I have a couple of almost full albums on my computer that I can't tranfer or install on my phone, and a whole bunch of greyed out songs on my phone that I can't play or remove!
The rest of the problems as above still stand. I downloaded the latest itunes OS updates but nothing's changed. I haven't done the very latest iphone update yet though because it says you need to make sure your stuff is backed up, and I don't want to lose the purchases I made on the phone that I can't transfer to my comp. I'm planning on uninstalling itunes completely and reinstalling but I have little faith that this will fix the issue.
Can someone please help at all?? I'm so sick of this!

If you use Snow Leopard or newer, open App Store and buy 10.8. You will see an error if the Mac isn't compatible

The EFI/firmware generally prevents you from running older OSX than what was shipped with the system.
My system can do what you propose because it came with SL, and can also run ML.
A new system that was designed to run Lion or ML will need to play very special and marginal tricks to run SL.
Some systems un der the Apple refurbished list are olde enough to run SL but new enough to run ML, and come with 1-year Apple warranties.

yes its a terrible decision apple have made to drop all these early macpros...
they waffle about lack of hardware compatibility
but in actual fact its just an arbitary decission to save some cash, and streamline developement at the users great expense..

Does the Mac Operating System not work properly with Youtube?

I noticed that my Messages on youtube are instantly deleted when I comment on some peoples Youtube channels. I don't think its the person that owns the youtube channels doing it because it is deleted almost instantly after I log out. It's very odd and I don't think its youtube censoring my comment because I'm not cursing in the comment and I don't believe cursing is against the TOS on Youtube anyways.
Another thing I notice is that when I'm on a flash based chatroom that when someone I am talking to has left the chatroom it will still say they are in the chatroom until I click on my friendlist and than they turn red as if they are gone. It is very odd that I am noticing these strange bugs. However the chatroom thing could be a chatroom problem because it might do that on my Windows side which I never checked because I'm usually on that chatroom on my Mac side.

The Adobe flash version could be checked to see if the system is actually using
their latest version (see Adobe, not a third party prompt from elsewhere to get it)
as that may be dated or you may have a newer -and- older Flash, and if so,
the later one may not be in use. Within OS X you can choose the newer one.

Also, some of youtube can be run in HTML5 and depending on the author, should
be visible even without a Flash player installed. youtube is a google product and
they also have a help section for dealing with their content. And browser settings
may affect how things work. Depending on what browser you use, this varies.

You can check to see if yours meets the system requirements for Snow Leopard - that would be the highest; Lion will not run on your machine.
Please note that the minimum 1 GB RAM is a minimum - 2 GB would be better.

I don't want the latest system if it won't run CS4. I bought Creative Suite Cloud version and had nothing but problems with it and the system I was running. In fact all the problems with my computer started just after I put CS Cloud version on it.
