Will Logic Pro....be running through rosetta on INTEL MACS?

Hi Apple,
Question,
Will Logic Pro have to run through rosetta (or similar) to use the INTEL Macs? Or will a new Logic Release that takes full advantage of INTEL be available imminently?
thanx,
SvK

If you are a registered owner of Logic 7.1 today, you will have to pay US$50 plus shipping to get the updated version that is Intel Mac native when it is made available after March 31st, 2006.

    hi there guys,
will logic pro x run on my mac mini dual core intel i5 with 4gb of ram and mountain lion ?
I'm not sure if my machine is 64 bit - it is the current model base mac mini.
Many thanks for any help you can offer !

SkiJumptoes is right. 4GB is not enough to comfortably run Logic X.
Your Mac Mini will need DDR3 SODIMM RAM. That website seems incredibly steep though. I guess that's the price of finding it for you. You're better off going to any below:

  • Will Logic Pro 9 run on a 2007 4GB ram, 320GB hard drive, Intel 2 duo 2ghz mac mini?

"Will Logic Pro 9 run on a 2007 4GB ram, 320GB hard drive, Intel 2 duo 2ghz mac mini?"
I am looking for the cheapest way possible to run Logic Pro 9 and will purchase a second hand mac mini if it will run the software.
    Thank you!

Yes it will.. I would recommend you use the combination of  Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and LPv9.1.5 (or 9.1.8 if you have to..) with that particular hardware to get the best performance out of it... I would not recommend running any OS X version higher than 10.6.8 as each new version of OS X from then onwards.. placed a bigger performance hit on the hardware... and frankly, less stability with LP9.
As to how well it will run on that hardware.. will more depend on the sort of loads you place on it.. depending on the type and content of the music you wish to compose... It will run and you should be able to create reasonable sized projects.. but again, it all depends on the plugins used.. the number of them... the number of tracks and so on... so to give a more precise answer is difficult.

  • How will Logic Pro X run with a 2006 iMac (Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.16 GHz, 4GB ram)?

I have a 2006 iMac 2.16 GHz, 4GB ram, Intel Core 2 Duo. I am not planning on using plug-ins, I am a beginning artist and Logic Pro seems to have more than what I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Will Logic Pro X run on the latest MBA with i5 and 8GB RAM?

    Hi,
want to buy the new Logic Pro X but I´m not sure if it will rum smoothly on my MBA 2013 with i5 and 8GB Ram.
I saw some very promising posts on the i-net regarding Logic Pro 9 which seems to run nice. But does the latest version of Logic require more hardware power?
Can anybody share any experience on this?
    thanks!

Logic Pro X has got some system requirements, and your MacBook meets all of these requirements > https://www.apple.com/logic-pro/specs/
Have a look at the Logic forum and read experiences. Also, there are reviews over the Internet, but if Logic Pro 9 works properly in that MacBook, Logic Pro X will also run properly

Logic 8.0.2 runs fine in Lion. The installer on the original dvd's will not run however, so you would need to install it using Pacifist.

2G of RAM is a bit low.
2 GB is a bit lean, but LP 8 should be OK-ish with it. I used to run LP 8 on a G4 with only 1.8 GB. I would recommend the OP to install Menumeters, to keep an eye on RAM use. I ran Tiger (10.4.11), Lion probably has a bigger RAM footprint. If at all possible, go to 4 or even 8 GB.

Hi, I want to know if Logic Pro X running on Mavericks works ok with M-Audio Fast Track before buying it.

    Hi,
Yes the Scarlett 2i2 will work with Logic Pro or  Reason, make sure you download the latest version of our driver (1.5 dmg for MAC) from focusrite.com downloads page.
    Hope this information helps.
    Best regards.

  • Will logic pro 9 ( work with....

    newbie here..will logic pro 9.0 or 9.1 work on a G5 2.0 dual with 4 meg ram..on leopard 10.5.8

9.0.* will, 9.1 won't. Both are officially unsupported on PPC, 9.0.* versions run fine though. 9.1 won't, it cannot be installed on PPC, only on Intel.

  • Logic Pro 7 running out of memory!?!

    Hi!
I am working on a project were I basically want to cut up every beat of a drum recording on 12 tracks and correct their timing individually (I have my reasons for doing this).
This creates a decent amount of regions and for some reason Logic starts complaining about running short on memory and not having enough memory for the undo history.
It bugs me because I am working on a Dual 2.5GHz G5 with 2 GB of RAM. Activity monitor says I have 480 MB of inactive memory and 1.25GB of free memory. Logic uses 300 MB of real memory and 762 MB of virtual memory. No other apps running.
How can I make Logic use ALL the available memory?
Is there a limit on the amount of memory that Logic can address? What is this limit, and how much memory is reasonably motivated for a PM running Logic?
How about plug ins? Do they have separate memory spaces not limited by Logics potential limits? "Drumkit from ****" can by itself use a couple of Gigs of RAM if available...
    Thanks in advance!
    /Jont Olof

However in the earlier days, running under Mac OS pre 9.x the ability to allocate memory to a specific application could increase the amount for the song event memory
No, it didn't. It increased application memory, but the song event memory remained the same, just as it does now.
I think, though, that with all Logic's new features, there is more actual data in an equivalent song, so the limit may be coming earlier. (I can't be sure of that though)
I know you don't want to, but did you at least try reducing the undo history size (in prefs) ?
Does deleting undo history and then saving help ?
Another thing to consider, although I don't think it generates warnings like you are seeing, is Virtual Memory. If the computer has been up for a long time, running memory-intensive apps, like Logic, then it can get overloaded (too many pageouts) which can slow things down a lot. If you do notice things getting slower, then restarting the computer will flush the Swap File and get things going again.

  • Will Logic Pro accomodate a M-Audio Fast Track Ultra?, Will Logic Pro accomodate a M-Audio Fast Track Ultra?

Will Logic Pro accomodate a M-Audio Fast Track Ultra?, Will Logic Pro accomodate a M-Audio Fast Track Ultra?

M-Audio is a bit slow getting drivers out but they eventually get it right so take heart... even companies like Focusrite don't have 100% compatible drivers for some of their hardware.
Not sure if -all- of the recent USB changes were released on time. I'm regularly in touch with a couple of plugin developers and both say Apple is notorious for last minute changes. Don't know if it's true or not.

  • Will Logic Studio AUs run in Logic Express 9

I have Logic Studio 8, with tons of additional AUs that I purchased. I am thinking of purchasing Logic Express 9, and was wondering if the AUs from Logic Studio will work in Logic Express 9.
Also, I hear, (but am not sure) that  Logic Express doesn’t come with:
space and delay designer components or the Sculpture, EVB3 Tonewheel Organ, EVD6 Clavinet, and EVP88 Electric Piano synths
Since I have these programs listed above in Logic Studio, will they run in Logic Express if I have Logic Express installed on the same computer?
    Thanks
    Chaz

    Hi
    A few things to note:
Logic Express has been discontinued, so unless you can find someone who has an old copy for sale, you must now buy Logic Pro from the Appstore. There is NO upgrade path.
Logic Express did not include Sculpture, EVP88, EVD6, EVB3; they are in Logic Pro
