Will Mac Mini Work?

I am going to America soon and I hope to buy a Mac Mni while I am there,But I live in Ireland,Europe. So my question is Will the Mac Mini that I buy in America work in Ireland,Europe? Please if you have an answer,Please answer me!
Thank You,
Seàn.

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Yes, a Mac mini bought in the US will function perfectly well in Ireland - indeed anywhere in the world. The power adapter is rated for 110-230 volts, 50-60Hz so it will work anywhere. You will, of course, need an adapter to allow the US 3-pin plug to be used in an Irish power socket, but that's all you'll need to get it working.
The warranty is also global, so the system will be covered even once outside the US.

  • Will Mac Mini work at 1920x1080 by HDMI?

    Hi,
I'm looking to get a monitor to work with a new Mac Mini (going to order soon) and I'm struggling to find the supported resolutions. I was looking at this monitor -
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BFTRSXW/ref=gno_cart_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1 &smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
So basically if I connect it with an HDMI cable will it work at 1920x1080?
    Thanks

    Yes:
*This model simultaneously supports 1920x1200 on an HDMI or a DVI display (using the included HDMI-to-DVI adapter) and2560x1600 on a Thunderbolt or Mini DisplayPort display or even a VGA display (with an optional Mini DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter, which is compatible with the Thunderbolt port).

  • Will Mac Min Work with 26" Samsung HDTV?

    Hey all,
Thinking of getting a Mac Mini, just wondering if i simply plugged it in via HDMI or VGA to my 26" Samsung HDTV, will it work? And what would the res. be?
    Thx

Looks like it will work per the manual. And it looks like it will work at 1360 x 768. Do you own a PC now? Have you tried attaching a PC to the TV? If that works, there is a good chance the mini will.

  • Will mac mini OX version 10.8.5  be compatible with HP M51XH printer

Will Mac mini OX version 10.8.5 be compatible with new HP M51XH Color laser jet printer? I bought the Mac mini shortly after purchasing the HP Color Laserjet CP3525dn. This printer worked well when it worked, but I understand the Mac and HP had compatibility issues and was hoping the new printer would be more compatible.

Is the the correct printer model? I ask since search HPs support site does not list that printer

can mac mini work connected to imac desktop. I know its silly question but can i make the mac mini main operating system on my imac after transferring all of my itunes etc?

    What is Target Display mode?
But only 27" iMac (Late 2009 or Mid 2010) can do this.
Since you mentioned an Early 2009 iMac I assume that it is a 24" iMac which sadly has not this capability.

    MY MAC MINI WORK SLOW

Go to the Application folder then utilities folder.
    Open "Activity monitor"
Check you have enough free ram
Check if one process is taking a high % of processor ressources
As BGreg wrote, check free disk space
Your mac may be busy something like indexing your disk (mdworker process or similar)
or some badly designed application may be "eating" your ram free space

  • Will an american Mac Mini work in the UK?

My girlfriend is bringing me one home from Georgia, and I suddenly got the fear that it might not work in the UK, can anybody help me?

Mark, your Mini will work in the UK and all around the world, however, the American plug will not work in the UK (if you have a Tri or Quad band cell phone you probably have two plugs, one for the UK and another - often built-in - for the US).
What you will need is the AC cord on page 7 of the Mac mini's manual.
Maybe your local Apple Store will be able to sell you one.

  • Will the new mac mini work with the older Flat panel iMac globe speakers?

I am thinking it might be time to upgrade my 800mhz FP 17", and since i have an extra 22" monitor laying around being unused, i thought the Mac mini would be a drop in replacement...but then i thought about the imac FP speakers and i would like to keep using them...is anyone using these speakers with the mac mini?

The Apple 'Pro speakers' that were designed by Apple and Harman Kardon, use a proprietary 2.5mm mini jack connector and they would need an adapter to work.
Years ago there was a product called the 'iFire' that allowed those speakers to be used with other macs with a firewire port ..... Here's a site that I found that has more information than you'll need to know about the speakers and the adapter: http://maczealots.com/reviews/ifire/
At the time, the pro speakers technology was pretty cool ... combining power and digital audio into the one cable. I still think they look striking....
I did a bit of snooping around and couldn't find the adapter for sale (aside from a used one on Amazon for $199 ouch) .... I believe it has been discontinued.
I think you'll have to follow another route.....

  • Will RAM from a 2010 Mac mini work with a late 2012 Mac mini?

I have two Mac minis. One is from mid 2010 and the other one is from late 2012. I am wondering if the memory modules are interchangeble.

    No
The 2010 uses PC3-8500 1066 MHz modules and the 2012 uses PC3-12800 1600 MHz modules.

  • Will Mac Mini with OSX Server 10.6 Snow Leopard be able to fit my needs?

    Hello,
The office i work in is a Mac environment.
Is this unit powerful enough to support 20 people? This is the setup i was thinking:
Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server - 2.66GHz : Dual 500GB:
1st Internal drive - OS only
2nd Internal drive - OS backup via CarbonCopyCloner
Ministack USB drive - Data backup via Time Machine (file shares etc on server from services)
Firewire DroboPro 16TB - Client Time Machine Backups via the Network.
Would the Mac Mini be powerfull enough to support normal OS X Server services, and at the same time act as a client Time-Machine backup via the network?
    Thanks,
    -Mike

The answer to your question depends on how many of the services you intend to offer.
If you are just going to use the Mini as a File, Print, and directory server, then it will work fine.
If you intend it to run as your web, email, database, and iChat server, you might be pushing things a bit much.
Your drive layout looks appropriate for a simple file server, so I would tentatively say yes, it looks like it would do what you currently require.

  • Does the Mac Mini work well with a Sony 50" SXRD HDTV?

I would like to purchase a Mac Mini and use it as a home theatre PC for my tv. I have a Sony 50" SXRD Grand WEGA Model # KDS-R50XBR1 tv. I will connect the Mac Mini to the tv via a DVI-to-HDMI cable. I want to make sure the Mac Mini can support this size screen at full native resolution which is 1920x1080. Any help, comments, or suggestions will be very helpful!
    Thanks.

Thank you for posting on this specific topic. The combination of a Sony KDS-R50XBR1 & a Mac Mini is a keen interest & current distraction in my life.
To this point, I can confirm that out of the box the Mini will reliably support a max 16:9 resolution of 1280x720, when connected to this TV via DVI-to-HDMI, albeit with over-scan (all edges off screen by a distracting degree). Display quality at this resolution is clear/readable (although some text may have some minor distortion or artifacts). Alternatively, connecting via DVI-to-VGA (PC 8) provides a crisper display, however (confirming pg 100 in the tv's manual) the Sony limits to the same 1280x720 resolution. Via this input the image has under-scan (black bands [letter & pillar box) all edges ~2"). Obviously, given the published specs of both devices, this is sub-optimal. That unfortunately is the straight forward answer to your question.
This lack of out-of-the-box native compatibility is not unique to the XBR. I have confidence that those more qualified than me, may be able to prescribe a pixel for pixel solution/work around. Throughout this forum, many informative posts have been generously/gratiously contributed by those in support of Mac Mini/HDTV harmony, quite often leading to success.
Significant among these have been contributors such as BSteely. I am both encouraged to see that BSteely has replied to your post, and concerned by the words of caution. I'm hopeful that this thread will continue to develop, ultimately leading to an optimal solution for this pairing.
There are many indications that a full native resolution of 1920x1080 should be possible. The Mini's display settings will recognize this particular Sony and register 1920x1080 (interlaced) as an example. However selecting this will cause the display to go black. This apparently is an out of the box limitation of the Mini, as my 17" PowerBook will display/maintain this setting (again with over-scan). So far I have not found the alternate settings (including those registered by the PowerBook) & techniques posted elsewhere in this forum to be effective when adapted to the Mini/XBR.
    Please note that my primary objectives (equally weighted) going into this were;
    1) getting on the HDTV bandwagon, by purchasing what I believed to be the best combination of technology/quality/future proofing/price. Regardless of how the Mini might ultimately perform when connected, I'm very happy with this set as a TV (Although the 1080p capability via 1080i input continues to confuse).
    2) connecting a Mini I had purchased last summer, to a large digital display. The obvious & elegant manner in which a Mini can be integrated into a home theater/home network, is (I can attest) truly compelling.
Although I have yet to find the holy grail we both may be seeking, in a world where any thing seems possible, I remain optimistic.
    Stay tuned here & elsewhere

  • Mac mini works strange with Xerox XA7-19i LCD

    Hello!
I bought a brand new Mac mini and connected it to my Xerox XA7-19i LCD which works fine with my PC. It has cable with DVI connector, and cable is not removable (other side is built-in in LCD).
After I power-on Mac LCD just blinks and after few seconds monitor reports "No signal". After pluging-out and then pluging-in DVI cable, I get the picture. And I have to repeat that every time. I have also BootCamp with WinXP which boots just fine without re-pluging the cables. MacOSX also doesn't detect refresh rate of this LCD. In MacOSX it reports only 60Hz, while in WinXP it works at 75Hz.
I borrowed Dell LCD with VGA cable and it works fine in MacOSX and WinXP, so I'm pretty sure that the problem is about properly detecting Xerox LCD while booting MacOSX.
Does anybody know any drivers or something like that for Xerox LCD for MacOSX?

    Hello!
I found a "solution". It is not what a wanted but it is as closest I can get.
If I don't turn on monitor before I turn on Mac everything goes well.
So when I'm turning on Mac a wait for 15sec before I turn on the monitor. After logging, I change resolution to 1280x1024@76. Thing that I have to do before tuning off Mac mini is to set back resolution to 1024x768 or 1024x820 and turn off the monitor (don't leave monitor in standby).
If I want to change boot disk at booting time I have a problem, because after holding Option key it boots up in BootCamp and waits for boot disk selection. If I turn on monitor after 15sec the screen is black. Solution for this is that BootCamp always selects first MacOSX volume, so if I want to boot in MacOSX I have to just press Enter, if I want to boot WinXP I have to press Tab then Enter.
That is the only solution in which I don't have to plug out and back in DVI cable.
Is it possible to make some script which will change automatically resolutions on logging in and out?
    Thanks!
    Marko
