Will mackie onyx 1220 firewire function in mountain lion

will mackie onyx 1220 firewire function in mountain lion

Hold on, I just went to double check myself... and I'm glad I did. It looks like the most recent drivers I could find are only compatible with OSX 10.8 assuming that your unit does in fact match these serial numbers.

You might want to do some more research before upgrading. Good Luck!

You need to check the FAQ section on their website - there is a link contained to check on compatibility. Here is an excerpt:
I would guess that it might not be supported in Mavericks, but contact them to make sure. The second problem is that it's been discontinued.

  • FireWire from iMac to a Mackie Onyx 1220 needs a driver?

I am running FireWire from my iMac to a mackie ONYX 1220 mixer. I shouldn't have to install any special drivers because the Mackie 1220 uses the core audio drivers of the iMac. Yet, I get no low frequencies coming from the speakers. When I unplug the FireWire mid song and then plug it back in, I get the full, beautiful sound I'm looking for for about 1 second. Then it goes back to only the high end frequencies.
Anybody have any answer for me? I took this mixer to a Mackie service center and there's nothing wrong with it. It works fine on other computers.
    Thanks, Tom

Hi, I imagine you've been there, but...
Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

  • My Airport doesn't function with Mountain Lion.  Why?

I have an Airport 6.1., and it won't function with Mountain Lion.  If this is a software issue, does anybody know if Apple have any plans to upgrade their software.  Hopefully I won't need to buy a new Airport base station.  I don't know how to contact Apple support directly without paying for it.

6.1 is a version of AirPort Utility....the software application in Lion and Mountain Lion that is used to configure Apple routers. This software is not compatible with older versions of the Apple AirPort routers.
It sounds like you have an older "round" version of the AirPort Extreme.....or.....an older version of the AirPort Express.
Can you provide more information so we can help? Once we have the info, we may have a possible workaround for you.
If you have an AirPort Express, look for the Model No on the side of the device and post back with that info. It will likely be either A1084 or A1088.

  • When there will be an update for Fireworks CS6 Mountain Lion?

While editing a file with multiple frames, Adobe Fireworks CS6 quit unexpectedly.
My work was not saved by the 'recovered file' feature and I had been so immersed in editing the animation I was creating that I had probably not saved my work for the last 20 minutes or so. My arm is going to fall off from doing stuff over and over again ...not really, but it does waste my time.
Any word on when there will be an update for CS6 for Mountain Lion?
    (I'm currently using 12.0.0.236)

This is not just a problem on Mountain Lion.  Fireworks crashes for everyone.
I recommend turning on auto-save (Google how to do this) to save yourself from punching your screen.

I have a imac 10.5.8 with 1 GB of memory. If i upgrade to 3 GB of memory will i then be able to run mountain lion ?

What year, CPU speed and screen size is your iMac?
It appears as if it's one of the 2006 models that can only take up to 4 GBs of RAM, but only 3 GBs is recognized.
3-4 GBs of RAM is really the working minimum amount for OS X, alone.
The minimum iMac hardware spec for OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion is a mid 2007 model iMac.
2006 models cannot run Mountain Lion, but can run OS X 10.7 Lion.
If you have a mid 2007 or newer iMac, my advice would be to install, at least, either 6 or 8 GBs of RAM.
OS X, by itself, to run smoothly, quickly and efficiently can use between 3-4 GBs of RAM leaving virtually no RAM for any additional applications.
If you have an iMac that can take more than 8 GBs of RAM, think of installing more if you can afford it.
Purchase reliable Mac RAM from online vendors Crucial or OWC (Other World Computing) also known as macsales.
    Good Luck!

will an older "Time Capsule" work with Mountain Lion?

It should do. Depends on how you define an 'older' TC. As long as your SW is up to date and the TC has relatively recent Firmware etc then there shouldn't be an issue.
Are you having a problem with yours or just curious before you upgrade the OS?

will i lose personal files with a mountain lion reinstall??

Not unless you go out of your way to erase the disk, first.
However, nothing is foolproof and the probability of something going wrong during the reinstall is inversely proportional to the number of backups you have.
