Will Microsoft Word 2008 work with Mountain lion

Does anyone know?

ML has not been released yet so no one here--all end-users like you---can say for sure. However, Office 2008 was the first version of Office with Intel code so the odds are good it will.
You may want to ask in the Micorsoft forum since Office is not an Apple product:
Office for Mac forums
You may ned to research in another forum. This is for iMAcs made before 2006 and will not be able to run ML.

  • Will Microsoft Word ever work with OSX Lion?/Worth switching to iWork just for

I have the Microsoft Office Suite that I got with my computer, I want to know if it will work with an eventual Lion update before I consider updating to OSX Lion. I would like nothing more than to be able to update, but don't know if I'm willing to justify paying the 60 for iWork and then the 30 for LIon. Any suggestions either way would be great! I have been looking at the iWork package, but don't know how I feel about making the switch over...

Office 2008 and 2011 run under Lion, but Office 2004 and the Office 2008 installer don't.

  • Does microsoft office 2011 work with mountain lion?

Was wondering if Microsoft Office 2011 works with Mountain Lion since the 1997 version does not.

Okay, I will try that.  It looks like I have installed it twice already.  An obvious novice. I will do it again though.

Will Microsoft Office 2001 work with the Lion upgrade?
Will one have to reinstall after the Lion upgrade?

Office 2001 will not work with Lion. That is a Power PC App which is no longer supprted in Lion. You should upgrade to Office 2011, Apple iWork, or Open Office.

  • Will bootcamp and vista work with Mountain lion 10.8.2

PC died so got an iMac and setting it up with small "PC" on it for two programs I need that will only run on PC. I am wondering if Bootcamp works with 10.8.2 and Vista will work with both...or are there known issues.
    Thanks,

Vista will not work you will need Windows 7.
Run Boot camp Assistant that is included with Mountain Lion to create the Bootcamp partition for installing Windows 7.

  • Will FCP Studio 3 work with Mountain Lion?

Will I beable to open my projects and work on them if I upgrade to Mountain Lion?

    Yes, no and maybe...
By starting from your install DVD, you can copy the entire hard drive back from a TM backup. Takes ages though.
Retrieving documents is just a couple of clicks, as you probably know. Same goes for simple self contained apps.
FCS is a bit more complicated as it also puts lots of files into the Library and System folders -- some are even invisible. If you remove it or are starting with a brand new Mac, I doubt that you will get everything needed back by just clicking the half dozen icons in the Applications folder of a TM backup.
A cloned drive is a 1:1 copy. You can use the Restore function in Disk Utility. There are also apps such as SuperDuper or CarbonCopyCloner that can be used to make and retrieve your clone.

  • Will the cisco vpn work with mountain lion?

I want to know if I'll have any issues before upgrading.
    Thanks

Okay, , , the concensus is that the Cisco Pix 501 ONLY supports a 32-bit client and no-one has come up with a workaround, SO -> seriously think about upgrading to a new firewall such as the Cisco ASA 5505 (which does support the 64-bit format). Depending on the number of users you need to connect, this model is available for around $345 (10 user) to $375 (50 user). Remember that the PIX 501 had an End-Of-Life date around Nov 2008.

Apple states that (of the MBP lines) it has to be from Mid/Late 2007 or later.  yours seems to be right on the line.
    Apple says
If you are running Lion, you can find out if your current Mac qualifies by clicking the Apple icon at the top left of your screen, choosing About This Mac, then clicking More Info.
you must also have the latest version of Snow Leapord or Lion

  • My Word, Excel, and powerpoint won't work with mountain lion

My Word, Excel, and powerpoint won't work with mountain lion.
Just upgraded, and my icons are question marks.

Is the upgrade free? That depends, if you have a more recent version of Word, Excel and Powerpoint, then probably yes, but if not, nope, it'll cost you. Try M$ (micro$oft for that). However, might I suggest, humbly, that you try OpenOffice or NeoOffice. I used it to open up a powerpoint presentation and it did fine, plus the price is right

  • Will an older "Time Capsule" work with Mountain Lion?

will an older "Time Capsule" work with Mountain Lion?

It should do. Depends on how you define an 'older' TC. As long as your SW is up to date and the TC has relatively recent Firmware etc then there shouldn't be an issue.
Are you having a problem with yours or just curious before you upgrade the OS?

  • Does Office for Mac 2008 work on Mountain Lion?

Thinking about upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion on MacBook Pro.  Have Office 2008 for Mac running currently.  Will it work on the Mountain Lion OS?  I went to Apple and have gotten three different answers.

Yes, it will work with Mountain Lion. However, its continuing reliability is waning, so I recommend you might upgrade to Office 2011 or you can consider these options:
You can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion/Mountain Lion. Note that this and following options are not 100% compatible with Office.
You may want to consider as well:
These two suites are similar to Libre Office but not as current or as well-supported:
    NeoOffice
    Open Office
And, then there is Apple's iWork suite:
Pages - word processing and layout
    Keynote - presentation
    Numbers - spreadsheet
Each can open and save Office compatible files. They may be purchased separately via the Mac App Store for $19.99 each.
As for other software, any PPC-based software will not run in Lion or Mountain Lion because Rosetta is no longer part of OS X. You will need to upgrade to Intel versions of the software.
(Access to the Mac App Store requires Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or higher and an Apple ID.)

  • Does microsoft word 2010 work with spaces in osx 10.5.8?

does microsoft word 2010 work with spaces in osx 10.5.8?

In order to set up and install the new AirPort Extreme:
    Setup and Administration
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later and AirPort Utility 1.3
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and AirPort Utility 6.3
would it work with my older osx 10.6.8?
Yes, if you set up the new AirPort Extreme using the guidelines above. The 10.6.8 Mac will be able to connect to the AirPort Extreme, but it will not be able to make any configuration changes.
Only the devices listed above can be used to set up and make any changes to the new AirPort.
