Will Mountain Lion successfully run Microsoft Entourage version 080122?
No, because what you're calling version 080122 is actually version 11.4.0, which is part of Office 2004.

  • Mountain lion compatibility with microsoft entourage

i installed mountain lion and seem to have lost entourage and all email files.  how can i retrieve and restore mail, entourage and settings?

No component of Office 2004 will work, including Entourage. Entourage 2008 should work, but you'd be better off upgrading to Office 2011, which includes Outlook for Mac. This article details the migration process:

Will Mountain Lion run Microsoft Word?

Yes, all versions of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) are compatible with OS X.  Update to the latest versions of OS X & Office.  Office updates are released frequently so be sure to keep it up-to-date

Think about it for a second.  Some Macs come with SSDs, so obviously the OS runs on them...

  • Currently running Snow Leopard with iWeb will Mountain Lion support it?

Currently running Snow Leopard but wish to upgrade to Mountain Lian to support new iphone etc. Only problem being that I've just set up a small online page using iweb through an ftp server. will Mountain Lion support any changes that I make to my pages and can it then publish trhough the outside server?

iWeb is supported in Mountain Lion. That said you need not upgrade to ML to support new iPhone 5. What OS are you using? All you need is iTunes 11.

  • How well will Mountain Lion run on the following MacBook Pro?

Thinking about biting the bullet and upgrading to Mountain Lion on my MacBook Pro. My specs are as follows:
    MacBook Pro 15"
    (Late 2008 model MacBookPro5,1)
    Intel core 2 duo 2.53Ghz
    8GB RAM
    1TB HD with 390GB free
    Mac OS X 10.6.8
So, how well will Mountain Lion run on this configuration? Currently I'm finding my computer annoyingly slow, so am wondering whether an upgrade was worth trying or not?
Any advice would be most appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Joe.

Sorry, I should have been clearer - that's what I was thinking, which is why I was asking the question. I thought that if I was going to all the effort of a reformat etc that I should just upgrade to Mountain Lion while I was at it, but didn't want to do that if it was going to run really slowly anyway and then have to go through it all again to go back to Snow Leopard.

So, have you had any personal experience of Mountain Lion running fine on this MacBook Pro? I know that officially it will run, but I'm wondering about the "real life" experience of it running on this model.
Anyone out there able to share their expeience?

  • Will mountain lion contain new version of ilife?

I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion, but I'm missing features in iphoto to use the icloud for streaming pictures, and cannot find an upgrade for ilife.
Also, will Mountain Lion include an ilife upgrade?

The picture streaming/subscription features were part of MobileMe's Gallery and were discontinued with the transition to iCloud. Apple may release new versions of these programs when Mountain Lion is released, but these are standalone programs that are usually upgraded separately. It is likely Apple will release updates to fix bugs and implement Mountain Lion-specific features in the programs, but less so that Apple will release full version upgrades. However, we will ultimately have to wait and see.

  • My MBP has Mountain Lion installed. The iPhoto version is 8.1.2. Cannot install iPhoto 9.4 without installing 9.0, but cannot find 9.0. Solution, please.

If you're running Mac OS X 10.8.x ou can purchase iPhoto version 9.x from the App Store. If you purchase iPhoto at the App Store you will automatically get the most up-to-date version and you won't need to install the 9.4 update.

make sure you have your automounter running. Do this in a terminal to make sure:
    ps aux|grep -i automount
If it is not running, you may have turned it off using some utility (bad idea). It's controlled by the NFS startup item and should be enabled so the OSX API can listen for traffic on port 548, which is the Apple Fileshare Protocol port of register.
if this is confusing, I can give more detail when I arrive at my home.

  • How will mountain lion affect my office for mac 201111

How will mountain Lion affect my office for Mac 2011

I have been using Office for Mac 2011 for almost a year now and the issue started immediately after doing the upgrade.
When I start Outlook I can see that it takes 1 minute plus to set up the identity.
When it finally runs it is very slow and no fun to use. It seems that Outlook is using very few resources when I look at the activity monitor.
Overall it seems that my IMac has become slower than before upgrading to 10.8.
I do not have support with MSFT anymore and I do hope that somebody does report this issue to MSFT.
To me it seems to be very clear a result of the upgrade.
    Hope that helps.

  • Will Mountain Lion work on my 4 year old iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo   Processor Speed:     2.66 GHz

Will Mountain Lion work on my 4 year old iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a 2.66 gHz.
Really do not want to load it and find there are issues.
Oh I really not a big tech guy I just want everything to work well.
And I'm just about to purchase a Mac Book Pro as well.
Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated
    Cheers

I also have a 4 year old iMac 24". it is the 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo. I have been running Mountain Lion since it was released, and before that Lion. Runs great. Over the last month I have noticed some slow data transfers from a USB harddrive. But not enough to do any research. I use a USB harddrive for my Time Machine backup and notice no problems or slow transfers while the Time Machine backup runs. My iTunes has its nedia files on a USB harddrive and is used to watch videos, play music and share photos on the AppleTV. I also use Aperture on the iMac to store and manage 20,000 photos.
I have 6 GB of ram, 4GB and 2GB memory sticks. I know it is best to have identical ram sticks but my iMac model cannot run 8GB of ram and I feel 6GB is better than 4GB.
Mountain Lion is a great OS and I am glad I upgraded. It works great with the AppleTV (no airplay but iTunes on the iMac serves up all our music, photos and videos), iPhone, and iPod Touch. Also with my wifes brand new Macbook Pro. All the devices including the iMac can share data on iCloud.

  • HT1338 Im thinking of getting Logic Pro X but will Mountain Lion work ?

    Hi There,
    How's it going?
Will Mountain Lion Work on my MacBookPro 15"  Nov. 2006 ya 7 years old now. works great but lacking the power of a new Mac.
    Im running 10.7.5 now Lion
The Processor is a 2.33 GHZ
and I have 2 GB of Memory
    750 GB WD Hard Drive
    Intel Core 2 Duo
    so thats 64 bit ...right?
    Thanks Apple fans.
    Bryski

Your MacBook is 64-bit, but it's not compatible with OS X Mountain Lion which requires a Mid/Late 2007 or newer MacBook Pro. See > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs
Logic Pro X needs OS X 10.8.4 or newer, so you can't install Logic Pro X in your MacBook. You can find all the requirements for Logic Pro in this website > https://www.apple.com/logic-pro/specs/

  • Will Mountain Lion work with old models of Time Capsule?

I was using an online backup service but it slowed down my machine so I want to go to an external drive backup. I have upgraded to Mountain Lion and I am thinking of purchasing an older version of Time capsule for my backups. My question is will mountain lion work with older models of Time Capsule? thanks so much.....

Yes. I have a first generation Time Capsule and it works fine.
Just make sure you buy at least 3 times the GB you are trying to backup. More is better.

The installer for Logic Pro 8 has a bug which keeps it from operating in Lion or Mt. Lion.  Use the program Pacifist to install it.
