Will Mozilla co-operate with AVG to ensure their Security Tool Bar works with Firefox 5?
Like some other FF users, I've been getting an 'unresponsive script' mesage on starting FF. After trying various things and eliminating add-on probs, I discovered that it was AVG's Security Tool Bar 7.004.022.004 that was responsible for the 'hang'. Who needs to do the tweaking -- Mozilla or AVG? (I have paid AVG 2011 version)
Running the script by python2 solves it for me:
su - mythtv -c "nice -n 19 python2 /usr/bin/tv_grab_nl_py --output ~/listings.xml"
Best regards,
Cedric

When will Billieo be compatible with Firefox 7?
I just have a question, when will Billieo be compatible with Firefox 7? I love your browser, but I have to keep going back to I/E 9 to use billieo, which I do not really care for IE.
Thank YouIf you want to try it already (and perhaps help us to find any potential problems early), you can download an Aurora version from here: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/aurora/

The Free Press knows they have this problem and it is only with Firefox as the browser
Hi alank - Free Press would need to fix this issue. If they are already aware of it, hopefully they will fix the problem. Mozilla is always super busy with it's own projects, and doesn't have the resources to fix issues with Firefox in non-Mozilla projects.

I have tried everything I know and nothing has worked. Yesterday everything was fine and today I can't get videos to play. I have tried Youtube and various news sites as well as Yahoo news. All I get is a blank screen. I tried it with Internet Explorer and all work. Anyone have any ideas?
There are a number of active threads concerning the latest Flash player plugin (11.3) and the latest Firefox (13). Not all users are experiencing the same issues, but things to check include the following:
- Conflict with Realplayer Browser Record plugin (to disable this, open Add-ons from the orange Firefox button or the classic Tools menu and look under the Extensions and Plugins categories)
- Conflict with Flash 11.3 Protected Mode (see [http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0 Adobe Forums: How do I disable Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?])
Scanning down the front of the forums probably will yield additional suggestions: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions
Please post back with your results. -
Does anyone know a Firefox version that will play the Dish online video with their Slingbox? I thought I had it working at one time but am no longer sure. Internet Explorer works just fine.
Maybe an issue with Flash 11.3. What's your Flash version in Firefox? (type about:plugins in location bar)
If you have Flash 11.3, follow https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/flash-113-doesnt-load-video-firefox -
When will Safari catch up with Firefox?
A little constructive criticism if I may...
For ease of use, it seems to me that Firefox beats Safari hands-down in some areas.
One example - the bookmarks bar. On Safari, you click on a drop-down list of bookmarks, and if you want to move on to another you have to deselect the first one and click on the next one. Two clicks. On Firefox you just move your mouse over the next drop-down and it... drops down. Genius!
Another example. Want to re-order the items in a bookmark menu? With Safari you have to click on "show all bookmarks" then click on the relevant bookmark folder then the sub-folder (I keep my bookmarks in categories) then the bookmark itself and drag it to the new position... then you have to leave "show all bookmarks" to get back to browsing. On Firefox, you can re-order them from the drop-downs themselves by dragging. Simple!
As I'm using the latest version of everything on all 3 of my MacBook Pros, it must be Safari.
If any Safari developers read this, they are areas I'd recommend looking at!No, don't expect a reply.
If they had to acknowledge all the thousands of (good and bad) suggestions they receive they would be doing little else!
If you don't like Safari there are plenty of alternative browsers:

I was trying to edit the tool bars, etc. on my Firefox screen this morning and now I have an almost blank screen. Not sure what I did wrong.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 to toggle).<br />
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br />
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.
You can also try to delete localstore.rdf in the Firefox Profile Folder

IPages will not allow me to move an icon off the tool bar
Wanting to remove an icon from the tool bar.
I right clicked on the tool bar > Went to Custums > Tried Dragging the icon out = would not work
I also tried to add an icon and it would not workI'm guessing this is what you're asking about in the Mac version of Pages (no 'i'). You can also choose Customize Toolbar… from the View menu. It's not at all clear how you're dragging an icon out or in. You need to click, hold & drag without releasing the click until the icon is where you want it.

I have lost my Zynga Tool bar and when I try to reinstall it, downloads but fails during the install process telling me that Firefox can not modify a file that it needs to.

First of all I thought the ipod shuffle had a year warranty like the rest of them. Is that true?
Yes that it is true. The iPod shuffle has the same warranty as every other iPod. See KB 302110, iPod shuffle troubleshooting and service FAQ and www.apple.com/support/products/applecareipod.html -
Fash Images will not load with Firefox
Currently Flash images will not auto load with Firefox on my mac 10.4. All flash images show with an arrow I must click to make them appear every time I visit a page.
I do have the most updated version of Flash (10.2.152.33). I have checked their site for all troubleshooting possibilities as well as the FF forum & nothing has made these images auto load. I do have load Images automatically in my Preferences: Content. This is only happening with Firefox & not all browsers.
I do remember having to add some Security: Install Add-On Exceptions a few updates back in FF back when I had this problem. Adding them fixed the problem, however the next update made the issue reoccur. I've looked for additional exceptions & possibilities to include & found nothing. My current list of add on exceptions include: addons.mozilla.org, getpersonas.com, & update.mozilla.org. Removing these does not fix the problem & re-entering them does not fix the problem. All flash images still show as arrows that must be clicked to load to view for my Firefox browser only. This does not occur in any other browser.alright. I've found that Firefox has a Flashblock setting & I have found a way to disable it if I customize & add an icon to my toolbar however I would like to learn how to change that setting without having to add that icon. Where in the settings does it allow me to change/adjust the flashblock?

After installing Firefox v4 my Comcast and Norton tool bars were disabled, Firefox could not find an update and deemed them not compatible with v4. Do you have any information on getting this corrected. Right now I have no protection from Norton when using the internet via Firefox.
Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. They have indicated that for Norton 360 they plan to release an update to Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early May - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20100720113635EN&ln=en_US
I do not know about the time scale for updates for other Norton products. Pending the update by Symantec, if you want to use the Norton add-ons you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
You will need to contact Comcast about their plans to make their toolbar compatible with Firefox 4.
If you want to downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles -
Why can't I drag an image or html file into a browser window with Firefox 17
to get a quick view of various images or html files, I like simply dragging the files from my local drive into a Firefox browser window.
since upgrading to FF 17, I can no longer do that. a NO symbol comes up when attempting this. and Dreamweaver will no longer preview with Firefox, even though it's my designated, preferred browser.
anybody know if both of these are some setting or something?Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

I have not yet updated and will not until I am sure I can Use Norton Tool bar and Identity Safe.
